Shafee said the defence team will present further arguments to refute claims that the former prime minister gave five conflicting explanations about the RM42mil that was transferred into his personal account.

00:00They alleged yesterday that Dato' Sri Najib made five different versions that are inconsistent and they say therefore his defense cannot be believed.
00:14Now, we have replied today, some of it have been replied by Farhan.
00:22He denied that he received the money because he did not know that the money was from SRC.
00:30Until today, that is his defense.
00:34Now, secondly, he also said that when he received money in his account, he has always thought that this money has been the donation from the Saudi, King Abdullah, and it was for CSR purposes.
00:52That he has maintained until today, consistent with what you know, that the amount of money that he returned, which was a lot, about three quarter or more than what he received, he returned.
01:06Because he was under the impression he was to be returned to the Saudi, because that was the money that he received as donation.
01:15Jadi, it could not be inconsistent.
01:18Now, thirdly, of course, he did not manage the account.
01:22That is because, being Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, he could not have been managing the detail of his account.
01:31So, if you look at it from those angles, with those explanations which Farhan has submitted, there are no five different versions.
01:44There are five statements that he made, maybe even more, but all these are consistent with the entire defense that he has put out.
01:53So, that is all I want to make, that statement today.
01:56Anybody, any question?
01:58Yes.
01:59Yes.
02:00It's very consistent.
02:01This is like deja vu.
02:03Yeah.
02:03All the trials that he has gone through, all about the Saudi donation, that shows that, you know, how much he believed in it.
02:12Correct.
02:12But, is there any cases in the world, where there are so many cases, due to one person, and, you know, consistent with the same explanation, and yet he is still being charged?
02:27Yeah.
02:27Okay, it's very rare.
02:29In fact, I have not heard of any.
02:32Your question is important because, first, throughout all the many trials, his defense has been the same.
02:40Consistent, not only during the trial, but even during the investigation by the MACC, his defense has been consistent.
02:53It never shifted at all.
02:55That would indicate to you that his defense must be trustworthy, and it is an honest defense, and if there was a mistaken belief,
03:07there was genuinely a mistaken belief of certain state of affairs.
03:12Your mother will beat you.
03:14That's the video, so you're right.
03:15Ha?
03:15That's the video, so you're right.
03:16Ha?
03:17That's the video, so you're positive.
03:19Ha?
03:19That's all.
03:20We can see positive, though.
03:21Ha ha ha.
03:21No way positive, eh?
03:22Positive, you can see.
03:24What's that?
03:25What's that?
03:25What's that?
03:26So, what's that?
03:27We can see.
03:27We can see.
03:28We can see.
03:28We can see.
03:28We can see.
