00:00Authorities said they have recovered the bodies of 84 victims perished in the massive July 4th Texas floods in the Kerr County.
00:10They said 56 of them were adults and 28 others were children, and they were among the 104 dead in the state.
00:18Most deaths occurred in and around Kerrville Town and the grounds of Camp Mystic, surrounded by the Guadalupe River, that burst its bank after days of downpour.
00:29Well, evacuation is a delicate balance, because if you evacuate too late, you then risk putting buses or cars or vehicles or campers on roads into low-water areas trying to get them out,
00:41which then can make it even more challenging, because these flash floods happen very quickly.
00:47Authorities said numerous warnings had been issued by meteorological departments and centers on the imminent flooding.
00:54The first warnings were sent by the National Weather Service office in San Antonio on July 3rd afternoon that the Kerr County and other areas in Central Texas would be impacted by severe floods.
01:07Rescuers and volunteers are still looking for the missing victims.
01:11We are still actively looking for our friend who is missing, but we've got his name on a lot of lists, and we've been going around to all the ERs and hospitals and Red Cross to get his name out there.
01:22We heard there was someone on Facebook that was camping over there with him and saw him alive in a tree, clinging on around 4.30 or 5 a.m. the day of the floods, and we haven't heard anything since then.
01:33Residents living in San Antonio, which is about an hour's drive from the Kerr County, held a vigil to mourn the victims.
01:42I don't think that I can properly empathize with what some of the parents are going through, what those who were lost in that way might have experienced.
01:55It feels really sad. It's really sad.
01:59And your feet, in the mighty name of Jesus.
02:02Individuals just gathering supplies and taking them up in their own cars and trucks.
02:07And your feet, even the waves, which are the ones we're using, and the other people we're trying to do is to create a goal, and take your help.
02:20So, if you ask them, that the rest of the village is going to be a good place to do so you can't even do that.
02:28You can't take your help, but you can't take them as well.
