00:00The comments that we got were Big Bed, this, Looney Tunes, that, and I'm like, oh my god, great, job well done.
00:06He was thrilled.
00:07You know, I was thrilled.
00:08Hi, I'm Lisa Rinna.
00:09Hi, I'm Daniel Brown.
00:10And today we're going to go behind the looks with Who, What, Where.
00:20We met in New York.
00:22New York City.
00:23New York City at the...
00:24It was in Columbus Circle.
00:26Mandarin Oriental.
00:27Yes.
00:27And we met for a drink, but really quick, because I only had like...
00:29Oh, it was like 10 minutes.
00:30A super short amount of time, because I was already there for Fashion Week.
00:33You were doing Fashion Week, yeah.
00:34And I was already doing it, and then we met, and it was like, the heavens, like, exploded.
00:41I remember I said something to her, like, if we're going to do this, we're going to start from scratch.
00:46And she said something to me, like, I would make a trash bag look couture, honey.
00:50Did I?
00:50And I was like...
00:51I was like...
00:52Did I really?
00:53Wow.
00:53I was like...
00:54Falsy.
00:55Cunty.
00:56It went from there.
00:56That was really cunty then, wasn't I?
00:58Yeah, but I loved it.
00:59And I was just like...
01:00I was just like, this is the dream client.
01:03Wow.
01:03Okay, so Richard Quinn.
01:05This was our very dear Richard Quinn.
01:07For paper magazine party.
01:09So we shot an incredible paper magazine shoot with our dear friend Justin, the editor-in-chief of paper.
01:15And we were throwing this exhibition for the shoot.
01:18So the exhibition very nearly never happened, and we made it happen.
01:22We sure did.
01:23You did thrill it.
01:24I didn't sleep until it happened.
01:26But we used Richard Quinn in the shoot, and we wanted to celebrate one of the designers that we had shot and worn in the shoot.
01:33And so Richard loves Lisa.
01:35Lisa loves Richard.
01:36And I had been to his show in London, so I loved it so much.
01:40And I remember this coming down the runway.
01:41Yeah, we flew it in from London, and it was amazing.
01:45Yeah.
01:45This was a moment.
01:47This was really quite a moment.
01:49And I'm in the pouring rain right there, by the way.
01:50Right.
01:51Pouring rain.
01:52Pouring rain.
01:52No tent.
01:53No umbrella.
01:54No.
01:55This was the 2023 British Fashion Awards, and she attended with a designer called Chet Lowe, who is an incredible designer that was nominated that night.
02:06Yes.
02:06And you had fun.
02:08I had such a good time.
02:09And my daughter was there.
02:10My youngest daughter was also going with another designer, which makes it even that much more fun.
02:16And Chet Lowe designed this dress, and we were looking at drawings before, and we had really no idea, but I was, again, game.
02:25I mean, why not?
02:26Yeah.
02:27We went with a punk rock look.
02:28You know, Chet Lowe's aesthetic is, you know, all of these incredible spikes that he does through knitwear.
02:33And so with it being black and with it being spikes, we incorporated that into the hair and makeup as well, and she had a moment.
02:40This was the first fashion week after starting to work together.
02:44Yes, and this was the Harper's Bazaar France, which they were just relaunching.
02:49Yeah.
02:50And the assistant or the Mugler team came to put me in that dress with those gloves.
02:57There was another look.
02:58I can't remember what the other look was, but I remember being on FaceTime to you at like 3 a.m.
03:02And you were like, no, where the other one is.
03:04There was some drama around this.
03:06Yeah, but we ended up with this one, and I'm glad because that is hot.
03:09That's one of my favorite ones we've done.
03:11I know. It was fabulous.
03:12This is Archive Mugler, so that was a moment.
03:14That was a moment.
03:15Yeah.
03:15I was, I loved that.
03:17Loved that look.
03:19Wow.
03:20Ah, the Gautier!
03:21I loved this look.
03:23I loved this too because it was really classic Gautier.
03:26Yeah, this was the Gautier show in the, oh, Couture Week?
03:30It was the Couture Week, yeah, yeah.
03:32And this was another moment of me going, because, you know, I go to the fashion houses for the fittings, and Daniel's not there, so he's, you know, up in the middle of the night.
03:42Yeah.
03:43And I have the fittings with the teams.
03:44Right.
03:45But I mean, also as well, because the fashion houses love her so much, we always have the best looks on the rack anyway.
03:50We do have good choices.
03:51And so this, there's confidence always that everything's going to look good on her anyway.
03:55So this was a, it was a, it was a good moment.
03:57It was chic, you know?
03:58It was chic, and I remember you saying, do fishnets.
04:01Do fishnets.
04:02And we found those shoes at the last minute.
04:03I mean, it's always like, there's always a little moment of something that happens.
04:08And you said, let's add the red gloves, because we tried it on with black gloves.
04:12Yeah, didn't work.
04:13Didn't work.
04:13This was great.
04:14This was cute.
04:15I liked it.
04:15It was, it was flirty and fun.
04:17Yeah.
04:19Richard.
04:19This is my favorite look ever.
04:21This is honestly the favorite one.
04:23I don't think, I don't think you could believe I was actually going to put this.
04:25I don't want to do it.
04:26No.
04:27And you know what, you know about this look is that, especially as a stylist in my aesthetic
04:32with what I do, I never like to be that stylist the next day on Instagram where people scroll
04:36and forget about it.
04:37I always like to be the stylist where they scroll back up and they're like, do I love
04:41or hate that?
04:42And so we knew we were going to get heat for this, but I knew that it was going to be a
04:46moment.
04:47Yeah.
04:47And the moments and the shock factor in everything that we've done is what's propelled us into
04:51this space that we're in right now.
04:53It's really true.
04:54And so, although it's very humorous, it's very fashion, it's very couture.
04:59And I think, you know, in terms of building characters with my clients and especially Lisa,
05:04every single outfit is a different character and it doesn't necessarily have to be a literal
05:08character, but it's something that shocks people.
05:11And this was one, I think, out of everything we've done where people were like, what the
05:17fuck is that?
05:18Like, but it created a movement and it was, it was insane.
05:22It's Richard Quinn and it was for paper magazine.
05:23And I had so much fun doing it with that thing over my face.
05:26Yeah.
05:27Like, I want to see people dress as this for Halloween, you know, it's.
05:30Me too.
05:30And you know what's so ironic?
05:31I'd been to the show in London and they had sent me two of these looks and it's like,
05:37it's.
05:37Oh, I remember.
05:38And you said you couldn't get it on.
05:39It's foam.
05:40Yeah.
05:40And I didn't have anybody there to dress me.
05:42And I literally went, oh my God, there's no possible way.
05:47And you couldn't sit at a fashion show in that.
05:49There's no way.
05:50You imagine.
05:51I couldn't even put it on by myself.
05:52So I remember calling my friend who was going to the show and I showed it to him and I said,
05:56I can't, I can't put this on.
05:58He goes, hold on a minute.
06:00He called Richard Quinn's office and they ended up sending me that coat, that floral coat.
06:05That was also gorgeous.
06:06It was fabulous, but I couldn't have gotten that on, but I couldn't even have gotten it
06:10on with people in the room.
06:10I would sleep in that if I could.
06:13So this was Givenchy for Numero magazine.
06:16We did the cover of Numero Netherlands and it was shot by Dana Tripp, who I love.
06:22And I wanted you to work with.
06:23God, I love her.
06:24That was so fun.
06:25Oh my God, it was the best.
06:26We did 13 looks that day.
06:29Which is half impossible.
06:30Half impossible.
06:31With wigs.
06:31I was determined.
06:32Every look had a different wig.
06:34Again, this is about building a character and it was like Daphne off Scooby-Doo, you know?
06:37We wanted to just jump into character.
06:39It was so much fun.
06:39We wanted to be, you know, as editorial as we can.
06:42And I think with Lisa especially.
06:45I'm game.
06:45You're game.
06:46And I think more game in editorials because we can decide not to use the image if we don't
06:50like it that much.
06:51But I think trying things with you in shoots leads to a clearer and more open mind when
06:57we try things in Fintans.
06:58It's like, we know that's going to work, so let's do it again.
07:01Yeah.
07:02But I love this look.
07:03I do too.
07:04Oh.
07:05Another Richard Quinn.
07:06There's actually a funny story behind this.
07:09This was the evening after the British Fashion Awards.
07:11That I was in the rain, standing there.
07:13It was pouring rain, but we had this amazing look from Richard Quinn to wear.
07:16And I was going to go to the after party, but then I said, I don't want to go to the
07:19after party.
07:19Yeah.
07:20And I said, well, we still got to take pictures in the look.
07:22Like, we can't not wear this look.
07:24We ran up to your room.
07:25I pulled my wig off.
07:26She pulled her wig off.
07:28I slicked my own hair back like that.
07:30Slicked her own.
07:31And we went down to the hotel lobby.
07:34And shot those.
07:34And shot those on my iPhone on the staircase.
07:39And it was like 1 a.m. in the morning.
07:42And we were in the elevator with a camera.
07:44We were, everyone was like, what are you guys doing?
07:45And by the way, so was everybody else.
07:47Yeah.
07:47Every, like, the top models.
07:49Yes.
07:50Some of the biggest girls in the world are in the elevator shooting shots.
07:55Yeah.
07:55It was fun.
07:56But we had to get this shot look.
07:57This look shot.
07:58The dress was so good.
07:59It's feathers.
08:00You have to look closely.
08:02It's feathers laying on each other.
08:03It's beautiful dress.
08:05We shot a similar look, but it was a jumpsuit.
08:07And again, it had the high neck.
08:08And it was for paper magazine.
08:10And it was in pink.
08:10And it was feathers as well with polka dots as well.
08:13I just love it.
08:14His work is so brilliant.
08:15We had to shoot it.
08:16This is so funny, and the shoes are Jimmy Choo, but this is, this moment was hilarious to me.
08:20Because it was 1 a.m.
08:21I had been out since, like, 7 a.m.
08:23Waiting for you in the lobby to go back.
08:25And I'm really sopping wet.
08:26I hadn't even touched my makeup bob.
08:28And I just took the wig off.
08:30I thought you were going to stay in glam.
08:31I'm getting her changed.
08:32I think I was steaming the dress.
08:33And the wig out the corner of my eye just got ripped.
08:36I'm like, okay, let's go.
08:36We had to do a different look.
08:38We couldn't do the wig again.
08:40Oh, my God.
08:44This was a big moment.
08:45Yeah, that was pretty amazing.
08:48This was for the cover of Numero Netherlands, and it's Victor and Wolf.
08:52And we wanted it to be the cover.
08:54Yeah, we wanted it.
08:54We really did.
08:55This was the last look that we shot as well.
08:57It was.
08:57And I think we were nearly running out of time, and I'm like, there's no way we're not shooting this long.
09:01Oh, no, we shot two of them, because we shot the bikini one with the three bikinis, too.
09:05Yes.
09:06But this was the one that was really special.
09:09And I remember we were going to do a different hair, and I was like, we've got to do a blonde buzz cut or blonde short hair, because I almost wanted it to look like a little bit of a punk Barbie.
09:19You know, and this, you know, difference between this crazy hair and makeup with this pretty look that just works.
09:29Yeah, it's very Barbie-con.
09:31Well, we shot it in the Barbie-con era, you know?
09:34I know.
09:34Yeah, it was when the whole hype about Barbie was happening.
09:37This was for the Rabanne show in Paris.
09:40Yeah.
09:41This is the look where Lisa put her own glasses on.
09:44It is.
09:45He had no idea.
09:45No.
09:46He never has any idea, because I never tell him.
09:47Well, she shouts at me for not sleeping, and so I got an hour's sleep, and it was when she was at the show.
09:52It was the last show of the day.
09:53You put him on.
09:54And so I was like, you know what?
09:54She's dressed.
09:55I can go to sleep for an hour.
09:57And I woke up, and this publication had done this video of her, and she's like,
10:01and Daniel doesn't know that I'm wearing the glasses, but he will when he wakes up.
10:05And I was like, but luckily they worked.
10:07But I remember I'm one of those stylists that sits on Getty Images and refreshes,
10:11and this look is fantastic, you know?
10:13It's amazing, but it's entire silk.
10:16And so I look at Getty Images, and the entire back had come undone, and I'm like...
10:22Yeah.
10:22Luckily, Lisa's the easiest and best person in the world, and didn't give me a horror story about it, but there was...
10:27Somebody came and fixed it for me, I think, and said, you know, your whole ass is showing.
10:31Yeah, but who better than that to happen to than Lisa?
10:35That's right.
10:36And then I want to tell you another thing.
10:37It was, again, like 90 degrees in this show.
10:41And I am sitting there, and I get up, and I am completely sweat through the dress.
10:47And it's like silk, whatever.
10:50So it is, like, dark all around my vagina area, right?
10:54And all...
10:55I mean, it is not cute.
10:57And I thought, shit, what am I going to do?
10:59Because the little bag that's in my hand is not going to cover anything.
11:03But luckily, I had also brought the glasses container.
11:07It's like a velvet chartreuse pouch.
11:10And I brought that with me, thank God.
11:13Because when I went outside, there's, like, thousands of paparazzi.
11:17And I knew that they would shoot me.
11:18So I took that little bag and put it in front of my sweat-stained vagina, basically.
11:24And they didn't get it.
11:26Luckily, we survived it.
11:28No, we avoided it.
11:28Oh, my God.
11:29This was our first red carpet together.
11:32It was Jean-Paul Gaultier Couture.
11:35And it was for the Elton John AIDS Foundation party during Oscars week.
11:40You were so excited for this look.
11:42I mean, you...
11:42I did not sleep until I got my hands on this.
11:44Were you scared I would say no to this?
11:46I was not going to let you say no.
11:48I was like...
11:49I think I remember showing you it.
11:51And you were so excited about it.
11:52But then I think when we tried it on for the first time,
11:54we didn't quite know where to put the arms.
11:56Well, that's...
11:57We didn't.
11:57Remember?
11:58We had no idea.
11:59And you had to call them.
12:00Yeah, because it was kind of coming off and on.
12:02We didn't know what to do.
12:02And they said, oh, there's little slits in there.
12:05Because we were like, what are those holes?
12:06And they were like, you put their arms through.
12:07And I had little thimbles on every single finger on those gloves.
12:12Right.
12:12Yeah.
12:13I think this was another look, though, where people were like,
12:15what the fuck is that?
12:16They were.
12:17They were, of course.
12:17They were so freaked out by this.
12:19But then other people who like no fashion were gagged.
12:23They were so gagged by it.
12:24Gagged.
12:24Like people that go to couture shows,
12:26there were a handful of them there.
12:28Of course.
12:28And they were the people we want to impress, you know?
12:29And they were coming up to me like bowing down.
12:32And it was like amazing.
12:33And it just worked.
12:34Yeah.
12:34It's so funny because people think that,
12:36like, I had some secret scheming plan.
12:39Right.
12:39That I went from Housewives and became this fashionista all of a sudden overnight.
12:45Now, truth be told, I have loved fashion since I grew up in Medford, Oregon and got my first,
12:49you know, Mademoiselle in Vogue magazine.
12:51I have been a lover of fashion my whole entire life.
12:54And so it just took for fucking ever to get to this point.
12:59Right.
12:59Where I left the show and it was almost like I got out of prison and all of a sudden,
13:06you know, I was like gypsy Blanchard and everybody wants to work.
13:12No, it's true though.
13:13Everybody's like, we love her.
13:15We want to dress her.
13:16And seriously though, I don't know how it happened because everybody said no.
13:21Yeah, they did.
13:22And now they say yes and we love him.
13:23Yeah.
13:24Thanks for watching.
13:25Thank you all.
13:26Tell us what you loved and what you hated in the comments.
13:29Actually, tell us really what you hated.
13:30Tell us what you hated.
13:31You're not going to hate it.
13:32It's all good.
13:33Be as sassy as you want.
13:35Be as cunty as you want.
13:36We don't care.
