Actress Bailee Madison of HBO Max series, Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin. In this episode of the #Closeup, we sit down with Bailee to chat about all things beauty, fashion, and her favorite getting ready rituals.
00:10I was like, I forgot that we were getting ready for our premiere.

00:21I'm Bailey Madison.
00:23Come get ready with me for the premiere of my new show, Pretty Little Liars Original Sin.

00:38Today is obviously a really big day.
00:40It's the premiere for my new show.
00:42So the vibe, the vibe check has to be stellar.
00:45I love the getting ready process for a day like today.
00:48I always have.
00:48It's usually full of a lot of excitement and nerves, but I especially enjoy it because Katrina,
00:56Scott has known me since I was 14.
00:58They've been getting me ready, but most importantly, are like family to me.
01:02Tonight, because Who What Wear is here, you guys are hanging with me.
01:06I pulled out the bubbly.
01:07So we have champagne, but I shall sip on it.
01:10Because it's still a work night.
01:13Katrina and I love a skincare moment.
01:16It's very important to us.
01:18Eye patches, Depuff, moisturizer, little jade roller.
01:24Really, if you've been told that it's good for your skin, we do it.
01:29Perfume is very specific for me.
01:30I always like to be mindful of a perfume because, you know, people have allergies to perfumes,
01:36and tonight we're surrounded by a lot of people.
01:38So I'm reaching for something a bit more subtle.
01:41One of my cast members, when we wrapped the first season of Prue La Liar's Original Sin,
01:46actually gifted me a tiny little bottle, but it's jasmine scented.
01:51And I think it's really fresh and airy, and I feel like it sits well on the skin without overpower.
01:58The bottle of perfume actually has pretty well liars, like, engraved in it, which is really cool.
02:06I feel like minimal makeup makes me personally feel the most confident.
02:10I think I wear so much makeup on set all the time, and I play all these different roles, which is a blast.
02:15But for me personally, I like it when I feel like it's just my skin, and it's clean skin, and glowy, and like a winged liner, you know?
02:23We love a winged liner. It just opens up the eyes.
02:29I did my first film when I was three, and my mom refused to get a place out here, so we lived at the Sheridan Universal.
02:35And I was like the Eloise of the Sheridan, so I used to check people in and go behind the bar,
02:40and I had a drink called the Bailey Surprise, which was just Sprite, and cherry syrup, and like Pepsi, and limes, and people bought it.
02:50But I'd get like back into my hotel room after being away filming, and I'd have welcome home balloons, and it was really sweet.
02:56So, yeah, it was just, I've always kind of, it's just been my life mostly out of a suitcase, I would say.
03:10I pretty much started walking carpets when I was about six years old, so I've had a lot of fashion mishaps and fails, but a whole lot of joys as well.
03:22It's a really interesting thing, being a young woman and trying to figure out your style in life, typically.
03:30You know, you go from being a kid to then being a tween, and then you're now a teenager and a young adult,
03:36and I feel like your style is constantly changing, evolving, and who you are as a person is changing, which affects your style.
03:43That's like added pressure when you have a lot of people looking at what you do and what you're wearing,
03:50and so I would say right now in my life, I feel the most at peace when it comes to my style.
03:57I just love the people around me, and as much as it's hard to not think about outside opinions,
04:03I try to just wear what makes me feel the most me and best, and then block out all the other noise,
04:11and, you know, if people like it, amazing. If they don't, that's fine. I did, so I would say my relationship with style as well has gotten a lot better.

04:24I'll show you the photo that put me on the worst dress list for the first time.
04:28How old were you when that?
04:30I was like, they literally put me on the worst dress list when I was, it must have been 10,
04:34and I was, um, I was on a, on a flight, and my mom was next to me, and I was looking through my magazine,
04:41and, and I loved looking through magazines, and I see myself, and I, like, gasped. I got so excited.
04:47I was like, Mom, I'm in, Mom, I'm on the worst dress list.
04:52And to be fair, here's the thing. To be fair, they had every right, like, looking back at this outfit,
04:58but also, I was 10, um, so it was an Easter-themed movie, and I, I said yes to the Easter theme,
05:05and I fully committed. Does this deserve a worse dress?
05:14Katrina usually puts together, like, a little touch-up kit and a little baggie for me that has,
05:19you know, lipstick and a flesh water and, you know, powder if I need it, but these two are actually
05:26coming with me tonight, so I got my touch-up kits and support physically here, folks.
05:39I am an OG PLL fan. I'm obsessed with the original and grew up watching it, and so all of this is
05:46incredibly humbling and surreal, but I would say a character that I most related to, I was always
05:54between, like, Spencer and Aria, um, so those were the two characters that I always, I think, saw
05:59myself in, and then now as I've gotten older, it's, like, Hannah's humor, I think, is, it's more me than I
06:06realized at times, but I hadn't unlocked that yet when I was watching the show. When I was filming the show,
06:12literally months and months and months and months ago, I got a text from Scott, and he was, like,
06:18look at what I just ordered for you. He got these little barrettes made, but the one that we're
06:21going to do today is actually a barrette that's shaped like a knife, and then it has A written
06:27on it like it's blood with some, like, blood splatter. So we're gonna do a little hair accessory
06:32moment tonight, a little nod to the show. This can actually be something that I physically can wear,
06:37and then also keep as a memory. I'd say I'd give it to my kid, but it's kind of weird to put my kid in
06:43with, like, to school one day. I'm like, honey, let me put a fret in your hair, and the teacher's like, what the heck?
06:49You want to see all these clothes? Oh, it's beautiful.
07:13You don't have to do a first change. Yeah, I'll just put everything in there.
07:17Put everything in there. Yeah. Aren't these cool? So our set photographer shot mostly on film.
07:23So, like, that photo's from the first episode, and then that's from the third, but then she gifted
07:28them to us. It's like a wrap gift. That, to me, is, like, classic image. I was like, that's so cool.
07:35It's a wrap gift. It is, right? It was thoughtful. Yeah. I love when people do pictures. Should we just get
07:40into it? Yeah, let's try it. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, is there anything I need to do right now? I mean, yeah, those are
07:44insane. Like, usually people are like, I don't want to do that. No, like, that excites me. Wow, okay.
07:50Yeah, I'm like, psychotic like that. Let's try. Then I feel like I'm like, come at me, people.
