00:00Thank you for your kind words on behalf of our friend.
00:04Thank you for the courtesy of renaming this bill in Jerry's memory.
00:12Our ranking member currently lived his life serving others and
00:18making our country a better place.
00:21He was a steadfast advocate of the disadvantaged and voiceless, and
00:26he stood up for what was right and just.
00:30Jerry was a skilled legislator, a skilled statesman here in Congress,
00:36as well as our congressional representative to NATO.
00:41To the very end, Jerry was all about the work before us.
00:46I'm sure he would want to tell everyone here to continue fighting like hell to stand
00:51up for those who cannot stand up for themselves.
00:54Defend the rights of every American and
00:56bring accountability and transparency to power.
01:00Jerry was the epitome of a public servant, and he will be deeply missed.
01:06It is our job now to continue his fight in his memory.
01:12Our prayers are with his wife, Kathy, and his daughter, Caitlin Rose,
01:16his sister, Judge Rosemary Conley of Massachusetts.
01:20May he remember, may he be remembered in our prayers.
