09:15We've got the three in custody then, so priorities today will be
09:19interview of those three, and then the passive data, CCTV, trawl.
09:26So we've got a group of people here who think nothing to go and arm in themselves.
09:30Our main priority is to make sure that they are arrested.
09:34They're clearly dangerous individuals, and whilst they're out on the street,
09:38then there's a chance they could do this again.
09:41First, the team must try to get an understanding
09:44of the events leading up to the assault.
09:48They review footage of the original brawl.
09:54So, just watching the initial CCTV,
09:57we've got, initially, some form of physical altercation
10:01between two groups of males, which spills out into the street,
10:06maybe 15 to 20 individuals involved,
10:09and then we pick up one of the groups of males in front of us.
10:16We then interview them in further footage,
10:19and they're then seen to go to the rear of a white van,
10:24and then from that, we've got individuals taking items from the back of the van,
10:29and then making their way towards the person we know to be our intended victim.

10:39Next, the team try to determine any role
10:42the three men in custody played in the attack.
10:46They compare clothing they were wearing when they were arrested
10:49to clothing seen in the CCTV footage.

23:02forensics officers are gathering evidence that might help provide full identities.
23:09We don't know if any of the people that have assaulted our injured people
23:13have been injured as well.
23:15So, to get somebody's blood who is a suspect at the scene
23:18would be quite interesting.
23:22They've also seized the suspect's white van.
23:27OK, so we've imaged the vehicle in situ and the surrounding streets
23:30and taken it really into context of the pedestrian precinct
23:34looking down at the Fusion.
23:37So, we've got it sort of located.
23:42That looks like absolute chaos in the back of there.
23:45Crime scene investigators Kirsty Richmond and Alicia Whiteley
23:49are examining the vehicle.
23:51It literally just works, though. Yeah.
23:54This vehicle was one that the males were seen getting weapons in and out of.
23:58I mean, there's a couple of saws that are in easy access,
24:01but they're in a box, quite happily sat there.
24:06Bit of a letdown in the rear,
24:08with not being anything obvious that the officers were after.
24:14Next, they search for fingerprints and DNA evidence.
24:20The officers have asked us to have a look at it,
24:22see if we can find anything to try and identify the people
24:24that have been inside the vehicle.
24:26So, we can get, you know, if there's cigarettes,
24:29if there's drinks bottles, people leave vapes,
24:32you know, mobile phones even, all sorts of things can be left
24:35that we can then get some DNA or fingerprints from.
24:39Some definitely on the outside. There's some big ones there.
24:45We've got about 20 exhibits in total.
24:49We've got a few fingerprints, lots of other bits of DNA.
24:52So, that will go off to the lab.
24:58While the forensic samples are sent for analysis,
25:01back at Birching Way, the team have made a breakthrough.
25:07Detectives have been working to try and establish who that van belongs to.
25:10It looks that the registered keeper is actually a Mihai Vasilaki.
25:15They're looking at the CCTV of the incident
25:18and cross-referencing and comparing it against social media images
25:21of Mihai Vasilaki.
25:25And we can see him with three other persons on the CCTV at this time,
25:31actually approaching and taking items from the rear of the van
25:38that belongs to him.
25:40The van that belongs to him.
25:42And then they all walk towards where our intended victim of the incident is.
25:51So, Mihai Vasilaki is a suspect.
25:57Police arrest him at the address the vehicle is registered to.

26:17The allegation is that he has been identified through police inquiries
26:21as being one of a number of males who have assaulted other males
26:26using weapons which has caused injuries consistent with being
26:31grievous bodily harm.

29:12But investigations into addresses associated to the men in custody
29:16have given detectives a new lead.
29:21So, we strongly suspect now that a large proportion of our suspects
29:25reside on the same property.
29:27We also know that post the initial assault with fists
29:31outside the public house,
29:33we know a phone call was made by Mirol Korf
29:35to an associate at that property.
29:39So, we're carrying out further arrest attempts at that location.
