Yo, what's up? I wanted to install Brave browser on Arch Linux and I didn't
00:06
want to do it without sharing it with you. Please don't forget to subscribe, hit the
00:12
thumbs up and comment with whatever you would like to tell me. There are
00:17
definitely two methods to install any piece of software from the AUR since our
00:23
piece of software exists in the AUR. The first one is using an AUR helper and
00:31
the syntax should be the same in case the AUR helper provides it and should be
00:40
like this if it is for example yay. I don't have it installed here
00:50
that's why I get no output except command not found. In your case if you do
00:57
have it installed you should simply run the first command. If you use it, if
01:03
you're using Paro simply run this command. In my case I'm gonna use the manual way
01:10
which can be replaced with the two commands mentioned above. Each for each
01:20
a AUR helper depending on your choice. You don't run both of them, you run only one
01:26
otherwise it's gonna cause you to reinstall that application. So the commands
01:34
should be like this git clone AUR dot arch linux dot org slash brave dash pin dot git
01:55
after the cloning is done we can now change the directory into the newly created
02:01
directory which should be with the name of the software. In my case it's brave dash bin
02:08
cd brave dash bin and then I'm gonna clear out the screen and from within the
02:17
directory where we changed our directory into we can run the command make pkg dash si
02:27
here we should put our password the user's password. Here just press enter it's gonna
02:40
select a font for you. I don't think if it matters that much you can select your
02:45
favorite one. I'm gonna choose the first one which is the default option then Y here
02:56
enter. Here you should input your password enter after you input it and then press Y for the
03:14
installation. All right let's see if we have it installed it which we should definitely
03:25
be. Here it is. Here it is. Here it is. And as you can see brave browser has been
03:53
successfully successfully installed on Arch Linux. This is the end of the video. Thank you for
04:01
watching and peace.
