00:00What kind of leader and teammate do you think Drake May is and will be?
00:05Because I feel like, you know, we talk a lot about on-the-field stuff,
00:07and with these quarterbacks, there's been such a wide range post-Tom Brady
00:11of on-field success, but just how they're viewed in the locker room,
00:15that's obviously a position that sort of is forced into being a leader.
00:20And so whether it was Cam or Mack or Bailey Zappi or Brissette
00:23or whatever else, how do you see Drake May filling those shoes?
00:28I think he's very, very well-respected and liked because he is such a regular guy.
00:34There's no pretense to him.
00:36There's no prettiness to him.
00:37There's a grittiness to him, a nice rhyme there.
00:41To me, I think that his upbringing as having grown up in an athletic family
00:46with a dad who played professional football and high-level college football,
00:51brothers who played, he just understands the dynamic of a locker room
00:55and a group male atmosphere, for lack of a better word, that has that dynamic to it.
01:02So I think that he's excellent in that capacity.
01:05What I'll be interested to see is, when you look at Brady or Bledsoe,
01:10they were standard bearers for being able to carry the message of the team
01:16to the media in different ways.
01:19I'll never forget Brady in 2005 after Marty Schottenheimer said in the postgame
01:25after a San Diego Chargers win over the Patriots, hey, man, they've got so many injuries over there.
01:31At some point, it has to break.
01:33And that was a team the Patriots had just won two consecutive Super Bowls.
01:37It was kind of innocuous.
01:38Brady got to the podium on that Wednesday, and he said he shouldn't talk about our team.
01:42The nerve of him to talk about our team.
01:45We're fine.
01:45We don't need sympathy.
01:46And I'm paraphrasing.
01:47We don't need the sympathy from Marty Schottenheimer or excuses made for us.
01:52It was amazing, and it was interesting to see.
01:56How will Drake May embrace that kind of messaging?
02:00How will he embrace being the person who is not just the megaphone for whatever message
02:09Brable is sending, but also a megaphone for how he wants his locker room to approach things?
