00:03In addition to renewing the Legislative Assembly, 24 governors will also be elected throughout the country.
00:10The world is attentive to the creation of a new state of Guiana Ezequiva,
00:14from where our correspondent Bruno Falsi brings us the report.
00:20A historical event is happening in Venezuela, the creation of the new state of Guiana Ezequiva.
00:27In the city of Tumeremo, the capital of the new territory, there is a peaceful atmosphere,
00:33but also great expectation, as the people will elect their first governor
00:39and seven representatives to the National Assembly.
00:46Well, here, in the struggle for our Ezequivo looking for the welfare of the community,
00:50for us this state is important, the 24th.
00:57Because it would help us develop economically, because we have potential.
01:04It is a resource here in the state of Bolivar Ezequivo.
01:10For more than 200 years, Venezuela has been fighting for its territorial integrity.
01:15The population is mobilized and hopes that this election will finally unify the nation.
01:22This struggle dates back to the days of the liberator Simon Bolivar,
01:27when his troops fought and died on this soil.
01:30We are free, thanks to the Lord, to God, because first of all, we are not afraid of what is to come,
01:38because we still have life to fight for the Ezequivo.
01:41Because the Ezequivo will be ours now and always.
01:45Because we want to move forward with the Ezequivo.
01:47A region of natural beauty and mineral wealth, with a large indigenous population.
01:56The new state will bring development to the region,
01:59improving the living condition of its inhabitants,
02:02by bringing the state closer to its citizens.
02:05What we want as an indigenous community, I am part of it, a member of an indigenous community.
02:17That all the people who live around this area here be able to resolve everything united, with unity.
02:25If we are reclaiming something, we are reclaiming what is ours, that is, what belongs to us.
02:31The Bolivarian government made a referendum held in 2023,
02:39where 95% approved the incorporation of Ezequivo as a Venezuelan state.
02:46President Nicolás Maduro is determined to follow the will of the people
02:51and recover the country historical rights, but using the international law and peaceful means.
