00:07 The president of the electoral council, Elvis Amoroso, held on Thursday a meeting with the

00:11 Venezuelan foreign minister Ivan Hill to discuss the development of the electoral process and

00:16 the presidential elections of next July 28, 2024.

00:20 During the meeting, Amoroso pointed out that the doors of the country are open for international

00:25 observers, but it would not allow them to interfere in the actions of the CNE and the

00:30 electoral process.

00:31 For his part, foreign minister Ivan Hill emphasized that invitations were sent to more than 67

00:36 electoral organizations, as well as to a series of personalities.

00:39 The diplomat also reiterated that the country has a reliable electoral system, of which

00:44 the Venezuelan people can be proud.

01:49 Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ivan Hill highlighted the positive results of the electoral power

01:53 regarding the international accompaniment of the electoral process.

01:59 The last accompaniment was precisely in the election of governors and mayors in the year

02:04 2021, and the reports we received were extremely positive.

02:15 The CNE has always assumed a proactive role to improve itself more and more, in a system

02:22 that is almost perfect because it listens first to the people and also the international

02:32 monitoring and supervision.

02:34 The Venezuelan Foreign Ministry has also made an effort to inform the world through the

02:39 diplomatic representatives accredited in Caracas.

02:43 Likewise, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister pointed out that the joint accompaniment with

02:48 the electoral power allows showing the world the strength of the Venezuelan electoral system.

03:00 the electoral power that, as I repeat, allows us to proudly show ourselves to the world

03:09 as a state with a strong electoral power, an electoral power that reflects precisely

03:14 the will of the Venezuelan people and that on July 28 will deliver to us precisely that

03:23 result, that value, that decision of the people.

03:29 In Venezuela, the government rejected the recent declarations of Guyana regarding the

03:33 lawful defense of Guayana Ezequiel enacted by the executive branch.

03:37 In an official statement, the Government of Venezuela fully and categorically rejects

03:41 the communiqué issued on April 3, 2024, by the Government of Guyana on the enactment

03:45 of the Organic Law for the Defense of Guayana Ezequiel.

03:48 It also stressed that the approval of the Affirmation Law is a sovereign act which is

03:52 the sole responsibility of Venezuelans, and its objective is to defend and preserve the

03:57 unquestionable rights of Venezuela over the territory of Guayana Ezequiel.

04:02 Likewise, it assured that Venezuela reiterates that it does not recognize the judicial mechanism

04:07 as a means of resolving the territorial dispute with Guayana as it excludes the nature and

04:12 purpose of the Geneva Agreement, and it denounces the strenuous maneuver to seize the territory
