00:00I'm here to provide an update on the tragic incident that occurred here overnight.
00:05Firstly, my thoughts and the thoughts of all the emergency services are with the four people who died in the fire,
00:11as well as the two people who were taken to hospital.
00:15Detectives from the Metropolitan Police are leading the investigation
00:17and we are working closely with the London Fire Brigade to establish the cause to the fire.
00:23Our officers were called to the scene until it closed shortly after one o'clock this morning.
00:27Despite the efforts of the emergency services, I can confirm a woman and three of her children died at the scene.
00:35A further two members of the same family were taken to hospital and continued to receive treatment.
00:40The wider family have been informed and officers will continue to support them at this incredibly difficult time.
00:48We remain in the early stages of our investigation, however, one man was arrested outside the house.
00:53He remains in custody and is being questioned by officers.
00:57I recognise the significant impact this incident has had on the community.
01:02We are working closely with the local authority partners and will have officers until it closed throughout the day.

01:22This is an extremely tragic incident and the thoughts of everyone across the brigade are with those impacted.
01:31Upon arrival, firefighters were met with a well-developed fire involving two adjoining properties.
01:38Crews immediately set to work carrying out firefighting operations in order to bring the incident under control.
01:46Sadly, a woman and her three children have died as a result of this fire.
01:52Crews wearing breathing apparatus were able to rescue the woman and one of the children from the second floor,
01:58but they were later declared deceased at the scene.
02:03A further two children were discovered to have died in the fire as crews carried out search of the properties involved.
02:09Our specialist fire investigation unit are working closely with colleagues from the Metropolitan Police Service to now determine the cause of this fire.
