GB News host Martin Daubney has slammed Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer for what he described as a "shabby" attempt to link critics of the Chagos Islands deal with Britain's geopolitical adversaries. The criticism came after Starmer suggested in a press conference that those opposing the controversial agreement were aligned with hostile nations, saying: "Russia, China, Iran and surprisingly, the leader of the opposition and Nigel Farage are in that column alongside Russia, China and Iran rather than the column that has the UK and its allies in it."READ THE FULL STORY HERE

00:00I want to go back slightly there. I was I literally had my breath taken away at this clip.
00:06The prime minister just said in that press conference about the Chagos Island surrender a short while ago.
00:12Take a listen. Against it, Russia, China, Iran.
00:20And surprisingly, the leader of the opposition and Nigel Farage are in that column alongside Russia, China and Iran,
00:27rather than the column that has the UK and its allies in it.
00:33What do you make of that? Well, let's get the reaction now of GB News, the senior political commentator, Nigel Nelson.
00:39Nigel, before we go to the broader implications, do you think there's something especially shabby and uncalled for there
00:44about trying to draw the inference that anybody who disagrees with this is in the same camp as Xi Jinping or Vladimir Putin?
00:52The Chagossians are utterly devastated of this.
00:54And to use this moment as a broadside against Kemi Badenoch and Nigel Farage,
00:59a lot of people are feeling felt especially shabby.
01:03Well, there's certainly going to be an argument in the House of Commons later.
01:08And Keir Starmer was obviously preparing the ground for that.
01:13The point about this is that it's essential to keep Diego Garcia as a military base.
01:19We already have it.
01:21Sorry, I missed that, Martin.
01:23We already had it.
01:24We didn't need to do this deal to keep control of the base because we already had control of the base.
01:29Well, no, because we were going to have to give up the Chagoss Islands.
01:34So don't think of it as paying for the privilege of giving something up.
01:39Think of it more on the lines of paying to lease a military base.
