00:00okay so seattle gets george kirby back he obviously is fantastic um i think moving forward

00:07this is a player that really could impact games because of how good he is so houston of course

00:12gets them today and i think that when you look at seattle and houston the question is on the

00:18houston side danny is that can lance mccullers jr even throw a quality start at this point i mean

00:25i like the guy a lot he was with them in the world series it was a long time ago he's come back he

00:30hasn't looked right at all and this could go a number of different ways danny we've seen pitchers

00:35like this in the past get it right and we've seen them turn it around and be great we've also seen

00:40them be completely done at this point too so i'm not really sure which way to go with this because

00:45the other thing with kirby is i would imagine he's only going to go five innings tonight seattle's

00:48minus 132 on the money line yeah i think it would be an easier decision if it wasn't kirby's first

00:56outing of the season right because like you said i mean his length is going to be limited being his

01:00first outing this year but even with that we know from the past that we can put stock into george kirby

01:06he's a great pitcher and against the houston team that's middling right now i would rather have my money

01:11being on him than certainly lance mccullers who you alluded to has just been uh untrustworthy

01:17volatile whatever you want to you know uh put to a describe him it's all applicable right now in the

01:23way that i ended up handicapping this craig and again i would certainly gravitate toward the mariners

01:29winning this game but a little bit more security is just fading mccullers specifically i took him

01:34under four and a half strikeouts minus 110 i was actually kind of shocked that we were getting this

01:39spot with mccullers based on how he's performed because you look at what he's done uh 6.75 strikeouts

01:45per nine innings in comparison to about eight walks per nine uh per nine innings and that's not even

01:50to mention that the zra is almost at eight is expected era is even higher than that yes he's

01:56only started in three games but it's still enough of a sample size to absolutely have worry with this

02:02guy i mean a lot of times we can attribute it to just beginning of the season woes and those ups and

02:07downs but this is something a little bit deeper than that so i like him under four and a half strikeouts

02:12i think it's going to be another pretty tough outing for him seattle is the favorite by the way

02:17danny to win the west but the rangers have come on lately they're now even at 25 and 25 i think they're

02:22going to be better in the second half and they have been through the first 50 plus 290 houston's

02:27lingering around uh angels have played better they're 50 to 1 the a's are just falling apart here

02:34danny i mean they're now 22 and 28 i believe they've lost is it eight in a row or something like

02:39that they've lost a lot in a row um do you do you see it as i see i i don't know for some reason i

02:45can't bank on seattle at this point i've probably reached toward houston or texas at this point based

02:50on what i've seen from seattle in september the last couple years i'm with you craig i've been on

02:56the seattle train the past couple of years and betting them to win the division and they just

03:00always fall short they always shoot themselves in the foot and then you look at the other two teams

03:05who have a realistic chance of competing as you mentioned houston and then you have texas houston

03:10seems like more of the sexy play from what we've seen from them in the past but this clearly isn't

03:14the same houston roster so i think they'll kind of fall off toward the middle to end point of the

03:18season but i do see a little bit more value in texas not only because there is more value on their

03:24odds but just because as you mentioned i think their bats are going to come alive once we hit june and get

03:30into july these hot days in the summer months when it's really time for these players to grind through

03:35this long season i think that's when we'll see texas kind of pop up the thing that scares me a

03:40tad bit with texas is their pitching rotation but if they can do enough to sustain and then you correlate

03:45that with what i'm presuming is going to be an offense that takes a step forward i think they're

03:50going to be right there next to seattle i mean with the mariners it's a team where you know i need to

03:55see it to believe it because they've broke me so many times in the past that i'm not willing to

03:59commit especially just at about the price of even money this early on
