00:00Vape retailers in Kedah have been given until December to cease operations
00:06following the statewide ban on the sale of electronic cigarettes.
00:10State Housing, Local Government and Health Committee Chairman Mansoor Zakaria
00:15said the state government would not extend the grace period
00:18as seven months was enough time for retailers to shift to other businesses.
00:23In a Berita Hiran report, Mansoor said full enforcement would begin early next year
00:28and that the authorities would not hesitate to seize vape products.
00:33He said if business owners remain stubborn and defy the order,
00:37compounds will be issued to confiscate their goods.
00:41Mansoor also called on the Health Ministry to revoke all licenses
00:45for the manufacture and sale of vape at the federal level.
00:49Last week, Kedah Menteri Besar Sanusi Noor said the state government
00:53planned to stop the sale of vape and e-cigarettes in Kedah by next year.
