So the good and the bad and the ugly.
00:01
We've got two up for you this week.
00:02
We've got four down.
00:04
You can understand why the downs are outweighing the ups.
00:07
So let's go with one of the players who has been on the up list more often than not.
00:11
He's been a magnificent signing.
00:13
He's had a couple of poor games, but I think both of us agree, Liam.
00:16
It was his poorest night or poorest day, poorest 90 minutes for a long time.
00:20
And that was despite him getting on the score sheet.
00:24
It all looked so good, didn't it?
00:25
When Emmanuel Agvedou opened the scoring and you just think,
00:28
OK, they've weathered a little bit of the early storm.
00:30
They've got ahead.
00:31
This could be another excellent night.
00:34
But after that, my goodness, he had a poor night, gave the ball away, lost his man.
00:40
Obviously, Wolves conceded four goals.
00:42
But yeah, just a lot of uncharacteristic errors for Agvedou.
00:45
And something that he'll need to clean up in his game.
00:47
Yeah, absolutely.
00:49
He's been a revelation since Wolves signed him in January.
00:52
He's been absolutely fantastic.
00:54
He's been up on this show for the vast majority of these last few weeks.
00:58
He's had a couple of downs.
00:59
And on those downs, we've been, for the most part, it's been a comparison to his standards that he's set and how good he's been.
01:07
On this occasion, it's an objectively poor performance from Agvedou.
01:11
His worst, I think, in a Wolves shirt, probably by some distance.
01:15
And it was a shame because he did open the scoring.
01:18
He did get his first Wolves goal since arriving from France.
01:22
And following that, he played a massive part in Wolves losing this game.
01:27
Gets an early booking.
01:28
I mean, he isn't helped by Rodrigo Gomez's throw-in, of course.
01:30
No.
01:31
And it gets an early booking, which is not a great start.
01:35
And I think the first goal may be not quite necessarily involved.
01:40
But the second goal gives the ball away.
01:42
Munoz wins the header.
01:43
He tries a cross-field ball and gives it away.
01:46
Again, it's a poor decision.
01:49
For the third goal, he is the player that the ball hits in the wall.
01:53
Maybe slightly unlucky, but still, he's involved.
01:57
And the final one, he tries to carry the ball out when Wolves are at 3-2,
02:00
trying to get back into the game, carried out defence and loses it cheaply.
02:04
And Palace and Eze break forward and the rest is history.
02:07
So he played a massive part in Palace winning the game and Wolves losing it,
02:11
which is a shame for a player of his quality, of the influence he has had on this team.
02:15
And how good he's been.
02:18
But you have to objectively look at it and say,
02:20
this was a really, really poor performance for Agamadou.
02:24
Do we need to...
02:25
I mean, I think we'll give him a pass.
02:26
But at the same time, Vito Burrow talked about players coming into his set-up.
02:31
And he talked about players who will need more time.
02:34
We'll talk about maybe some younger defenders in a little bit,
02:36
and maybe in the second half of the show.
02:37
But he's coming, and it is still his first Premier League season.
02:42
He is going to make errors.
02:43
He is going to make mistakes.
02:44
He's going to have four games.
02:45
You know, these are...
02:46
He's facing some of the best attackers in the world.
02:48
So you can understand that to a certain extent.
02:50
At the same level, I'm playing devil's advocate.
02:54
Pereira said that he brought him in because he is older,
02:56
because he can come straight into the start-up,
02:58
because he is ready.
02:59
He's a seasoned professional.
03:01
And you expect more.
03:03
I think he'll be hurting as well.
03:05
But I do feel that there's certain players who I'm a little bit nervy about next season,
03:11
whether they should be in this side, whether they should be in the squad,
03:12
whether they should be at this football club.
03:14
Emmanuel Agbadoo, for me, is still one of the first names on the team sheet.
03:18
And, you know, potential, potentially, if Nelson Samadis goes,
03:22
will be one of those players, I'm sure, who will look to be able to maybe captain this side.
03:26
So I still think they've got a fantastic signing.
03:28
And I don't want to be too down on him because, you know,
03:30
he has been an excellent, excellent acquisition.
03:34
Yeah, well, I don't think you can be too harsh on him
03:37
because his overall impact on this team has played a massive role
03:41
in Wolves staying in the Premier League, in my opinion.
03:43
I think of all the players that arrived at the club,
03:46
he's made the biggest impact.
03:47
Of all of the players since Vitor arrived,
03:50
he's played one of the biggest roles in keeping Wolves up
03:54
and avoiding relegation.
03:55
So I don't think you can be too critical,
03:58
but equally, we've got to look at it objectively
04:00
and say that against Palace, he played a big role in Wolves losing the game.
04:04
It's as simple as that.
04:05
And without those mistakes and without maybe a little bit,
04:08
because he is very calm, he's very cool, calm and collected
04:12
and maybe too calm at times.
04:14
And I think he just overplayed the ball on too many occasions,
04:17
maybe tried to be a bit too clever with some of the passes.
04:19
And Palace are a team that just are so aggressive
04:22
and so difficult to play against.
04:23
And I think it was the wrong side for that kind of attitude, really, to the game.
