Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital sets up special 60-bed disaster ward to combat heat stroke surge

New Delhi , May 21, 2025 (ANI) :  Safdarjung hospital has made preparations to tackle the anticipated surge in heat stroke cases with the onset of extreme scorching temperatures .  The hospital has started a special 60-bed disaster wards equipped with cooling facilities for the patients.

00:00We have made an elaborate plan for receiving patients who suffer from heat-related illnesses.

00:28So, we have dedicated 3 beds in emergency red zone for the same and 3 beds in ER4 which is handled by the medicine department.

00:38Apart from that, we have also dedicated a disaster section which has 60 beds for such patients.

00:43We have made preparations through sprinklers, cold IV bottles, ice-lined refrigerators, digital thermometers.

00:51So, these facilities are available.

00:53Apart from that, we have dedicated teams managing both the patients who have heat stroke and heat-related illnesses.
