00:00Good morning, here's your market open for Tuesday, May 20.
00:07While it's a short trading week north of the border, inflation data is set to be announced
00:10later in the day, giving investors some confidence in tipping Canada's main stock index up this
00:14morning. Futures of the S&P TSX index were down 0.3% as of 6.15 Eastern Time. The venture
00:20holds last week gains, futures of the Dow sits flat, and the Nasdaq is down 0.25%.
00:24Over to headlines, G7 finance ministers meeting in Canada this week aimed to align with the
00:29U.S. on key non-tariff issues like AI, Ukraine support, and economic security.
00:34And biotechnology company Regeneron Pharmaceuticals is buying 23andMe for $256 million U.S. two
00:40months after the genetic testing company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
00:44Inter-currency futures with the Canadian dollar standing at $0.71 U.S. on the rise against
00:49the Euro and Bitcoin boosts up 3,200 points. And tailing off of commodity futures were copper
00:54sits flat, gold tips up, WTI sheds a quarter percent to $61 U.S. a barrel, and natural
