00:00Now on the Saudi chip deal. Today I'm
00:04joining with Senator Warren to lead
00:06Senate Democrats and calling on
00:07Secretaries Lutnik and Rubio to hit
00:09pause on a number of chip deals Donald
00:13Trump announced last week with Saudi
00:15Arabia and the UAE. I'm alarmed that
00:18these deals announced by Donald Trump
00:20which involve the most advanced AI
00:22related semiconductors have national
00:25security threat written all over them.
00:27Without clear and enforceable
00:30protections I'm worried that these chips
00:33will gradually end up in the hands of
00:35the Chinese government the Chinese
00:37Communist Party given how cozy the
00:39Saudi and Emiratis have been with the
00:41Chinese. Recent history shows that when
00:44foreign countries end up with American
00:46made chips the Chinese government the
00:48CCP and their related companies get a
00:51hold of these chips. Deep Seek's AI model
00:54was precisely accomplished with US made
00:57chips. Now Donald Trump wants to
01:00potentially open up another loophole with
01:03his Middle East chip deals. Over the
01:05years Chinese companies and the CCP have
01:07forged deep ties with the same Middle
01:09Eastern countries that Donald Trump is
01:11now giving unfettered access to our most
01:14advanced AI chips. No serious national
01:18security expert would tell you this is on
01:20the level. It not only threatens our
01:22security but also risks cannibalizing the
01:25U.S. build out of AI. If we want to stay
01:27number one in AI which we all do this is
01:32the wrong deal. Why is Donald Trump
01:35building the future of AI in the Middle
01:37East not in America? We all know that
01:40he's desperate. Trump is desperate to
01:42show the world he's Mr. Art of the deal. But
01:46he's so desperate to tout these deals that
01:48he's not thinking and protecting the
01:51long-term security and jobs implications to
01:53our country. With this deal American AI
01:56chips are being given to the highest bidder
01:58at the expense of the American people and
02:02American dominance in the rapidly growing
02:05growing an important field of AI.
