Over the past decades, cartoons and games have paid a vital role in shaping worldwide entertainment.
00:06
Interestingly, some characters in these games are inspired by Thai traditions and culture.
00:11
The first and most iconic is Sangat from Street Fighter, the eyepatch wearing more Thai villain.
00:17
He is inspired by real-life boxer Sangat Pekindi, a 3-time Lumpini and 3-time Lachamneun World Champion with 317 fights and 151 knockouts.
00:28
Aside from the eyepatch and his muscular figure, the real Sangat shares a similar look and fierce Moe Mutt fighting style.
00:34
Another standout is Fakam Ram from Tekken, a heavily tattooed muscular Muay Thai fighter.
00:40
The character is said to be inspired by Sia Kim P.K. Sanchai Muay Thai Yim, a Lachamneun Champion.
00:47
Thai influencers also appeared in famous cartoons like Hanuman in the classic Ultraman, the Thai football team in Captain Tsubasa and many more.
