03:24They might want to reevaluate that on the particular leg that he's gonna go on.

05:04Jim Ross and Pauly Dangerty back with you, reminding you once again that one week from
05:08tomorrow night, it's a big one in the Omni.
05:10It's a great event, the last Great American Bash of 91 will be one week from tomorrow
05:15night, Argentina versus the Hare, the one-man gang, one of the feature matchups.
05:19Well, you see, El Egante's 7'7", and he claims he's the true giant, but he got chopped down
05:24to size when the one-man gang chopped his hair.
05:26Egante wants revenge, so if he beats the gang in the Omni, he gets to shave the gang's head,
05:31but if the gang beats Egante, Egante goes back to Argentina.
05:35One of the El Egante's best buddies is Big Josh, who we're going to see in just a few
05:40moments against the one-man gang.
05:41Now, come on, he needs a haircut, right?
05:43Probably wouldn't hurt to get a little trim.
05:44Little shaggy on the thing, a little long in the back, so give him a little snip, and
05:48who better to give Big Josh a haircut than the one-man gang?
05:52Well, I don't think a great deal of the one-man gang's hairstyling, and Sullivan needs more
05:58help than you.
05:58Let's go to the ring.
06:01Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest, it is set for one call.
06:06Introducing first, being led to the ring by the diabolical Kevin Sullivan, and along with
06:14Black Blood from Halstead Street, Chicago, Illinois, weighing 412 pounds, he says he
06:24is the true giant of world championship wrestling, the one-man gang.
06:32Well, fans, tonight, the one-man gang and Black Blood are scheduled to take on Rick
06:38Steiner and the world's strongest man, Bill Kazmaier, in a semifinal bout in the World
06:43Tag Team Tournament.
06:44The winner of that match will move into the finals, which will be held at the Clash of
06:49Champions on Thursday, September the 5th, live right here on TBS.
06:56So a big semifinal matchup.
06:58Steiner and Kazmaier to meet the one-man gang and Black Blood scheduled tonight.
07:04And his opponent, from the Northwoods, weighing 275 pounds, Big Josh.
07:17Big Josh, a good buddy of El Egante.
07:20Remember in the Omni, one week from tomorrow night at eight o'clock, if El Egante defeats
07:26the one-man gang, the gang's hair will be shaved.
07:30But if the one-man gang defeats El Egante, it will be the final match ever for El Egante
07:37in the United States.
07:38So if you live in Atlanta or any of the surrounding areas and you're a fan of the largest athlete
07:43in the world today, you better come to the Omni and say bye-bye to El Egante.

08:00One-man gang starting off very quickly against Big Josh.

08:19Big Josh up on the back like he's climbing a big redwood tree.
08:24And he needs to stay on top of the one-man gang if he has any hope, not just of victory,
08:31but of survival.

08:38Big Josh now feeling the impact of those big right hands from this very deranged huge individual
08:47wearing black gloves here today.
08:54Big Josh is in big trouble right now and the gang is moving in and he's not looking to
09:01win the match.
09:01He's looking to eliminate Big Josh from world championship wrestling because Josh is a buddy
09:08of El Egante.
09:14One-man gang receiving his instructions from Kevin Sullivan.
09:18Should be an outstanding tag team matchup.
09:22Later today on WCW, two hours and we'll be broadcasting from Sioux City, Iowa.
09:29That's today, 5.05 Central, 6.05 Eastern.
09:35And Big Josh continues to fight back, but he is, he's a big man.
09:40He's about 275, but he looks awfully small compared to the one-man gang.
09:47Well, the one-man gang wants to prove to everybody that he's a true giant in world
09:52championship wrestling.
09:53And looking at this, I'd have to agree with them.
09:57Big Josh moves out of the way.
09:59Lucky for him, catches the gang with a clothesline.
10:03Gets some help from the ropes, some momentum.
10:08And a double axe handle and down goes the gang.
10:11He's going for the big butt drop.
10:13He yells timber and drops it on the gang.
10:19Sullivan up on the apron and Josh just tattooed Sullivan.
10:25And he got nailed into that stick there, right in the kidney area by Blackblood.
10:35The one-man gang is going to beat Big Josh.
10:37Ladies and gentlemen, the winner of the match, the one-man gang.
10:43Wow, there's some sickness here in this situation.
10:50He's already nailed Sullivan, and look at that.
10:53He kept the axe handle right up.

10:59The one-man gang stands up, can't even keep his footing.

11:35I'm Gordon Soley.
11:36Last week, we talked about Ron Simmons and his quest for
11:40the World Heavyweight Championship in the WCW.
11:43This week, we're going to take a look at the total package,
11:46the new WCW World Heavyweight Champion, Lex Luger.
11:50As US Heavyweight Champion, Lex Luger became a real crowd favorite.
11:55Let me tell you some personal information about Lex Luger.
11:59It was just five years ago, coming back from Vero Beach, Florida, to Tampa, Florida.
12:05Lex Luger was sitting in the front seat of my Mercedes as we drove back.
12:09And he said, Gordon, I have a plan.
12:11Within five years, I'm going to become the World Heavyweight Champion.
12:16It's business to me.
12:19Well, his prophecy came true.
12:22Unlike so many others in this world, he was one who made good
12:26his prophecy to become the World Heavyweight Champion.
12:29And now we're going to find out that he is all business.
12:32Listen to this.
12:34This man electrified the world to become the new World Heavyweight Champion.
12:39Now they all seem to be coming out of the woodwork.
12:42Wyndham, it seems like you know you already had your attitude adjustment.
12:46And Ron Simmons, you prepare yourself to receive the adjustment.
12:52You know they all want to see how they measure up against the measuring stick at WCW.
12:58Lex Luger, the total package World Heavyweight Champion.
13:01Barry Wyndham, maybe something happened when I dropped you in the top of your head.
13:05Needed A-plus for courage, but a failing grade for brain.
13:09If you want to step back into the ring with this.
13:12Ron Simmons, great credentials, great physical tools.
13:19You have this heart-rendering rendition of the land of opportunity here at WCW.
13:24But land of opportunity doesn't always work out, Ron Simmons,
13:27when I pick you up and I hold you up here
13:30and I spike you on the top of your head with an attitude adjustment.
13:34So now we know indeed that it is business and all business with Lex Luger.
13:39He proved this when he went to the CFL in Canada.
13:41He proved that when he came to the NFL in the United States.
13:44And now he's proven it once again as a professional wrestler
13:47and now is the WCW World Heavyweight Champion.
13:51The most interesting aspect to all of this, however,
13:54is the situation that apparently Luger,
13:58either through the York Foundation or through Mr. Hughes and Harley Race,
14:03is trying to get to Ron Simmons.
14:05Now what his purpose is, I frankly don't know.
14:09But it bodes evil if Simmons pays attention
14:12to whatever offers Luger may be making through Mr. Hughes or to Harley Race,
14:18if in fact that is what's going on.
14:21But I do want to show you something that happened in Salisbury, Maryland.
14:24I think you'll find it most interesting
14:26because there was a verbal confrontation between Ron Simmons, Mr. Hughes, and Harley Race.
14:32I've got the opportunity to be the best I can be.
14:35I've got an opportunity this time to make history in this sport.
14:38I have a chance to be the first black heavyweight champion this sport has ever had.
14:44And I plan to be just that when the opportunity presents itself.
14:48No man is beyond being beat.
14:51No man is beyond taking the fall and going down this ring.
14:55And I plan to be just that.
14:58You see, well, we have been joined by Harley Race and Mr. Hughes.
15:05Let me tell you something, Mr. Ron Simmons.
15:10I don't care how many times you have been all American this or all American that.
15:17You are far, far short of matching the total package.
15:25Let me tell you something.
15:27I know who you are and everybody here knows who you are.
15:31Listen, brother, let me tell you, you don't want no part of this.
15:34So stay out of it.
15:36And another thing, you can go back and tell Lex Luger anytime and anywhere Ron Simmons is ready.
15:43If I may, a personal comment regarding Ron Simmons and his World Heavyweight Championship
15:48match upcoming August 25th at the Omni in Atlanta.
15:52I, for one, feel personally that Ron Simmons has one tremendous advantage going for him at
15:57this point in time.
15:59I know his background.
16:00I know his training.
16:02And I know something else.
16:03His great emotionalism that, very frankly, Lex Luger does not have.
16:09I look for this to be a great World Championship match.
16:22Ladies and gentlemen, the following tag team event, a bounty match for the match.
16:32Introducing team number one, total combined weight, 492 pounds, the living legend, Larry
16:39Zbyszko, Double A, Arn Anderson, The Enforcer.
16:45Jim Ross and Pauline Anderson back with you here this morning on CBS.
16:50Remember fans that later today on WCW Two Big Hours, coming to you from Sioux City,
16:56Iowa, the Patriots take on Taylor and Morton of the York Foundation in a quarterfinal bout
17:00in the World Tag Tournament.
17:02As we said earlier, the semifinal bout will feature Rick Steiner and Bill Cashmire against
17:07the one-man gang in black gloves.
17:08Plus, Dustin Rhodes will challenge Dunning Seed from the Kennel Club.
17:12For the World Television title, he weighs 226 pounds, the Yellow Dog.
17:19His partner from Austin, Texas, 261 pounds, the natural, Dustin Rhodes.
17:28Dustin Rhodes puts his unbeaten streak on the line tonight.
17:31I guess another unbeaten athlete, Dunning Steve Austin.
17:36And that's for the World Television title.
17:38You heard Gordon Soley's analogy regarding the Ron Simmons, Lex Luger situation.
17:43Well, we have some exclusive footage of a recent near tragic altercation perpetrated
17:50by Lex Luger and his entourage on Ron Simmons and on Barry Windham.
17:55That exclusive report comes to you later today on WCW.
18:01And now we're going to see the youth and the excitement and the high-flying abilities
18:08of the Yellow Dog, coupled with the inexperience of Dustin Rhodes, but he's a natural, and
18:15they're going against the experience and the technique of the enforcers.
18:25Yellow Dog beating Anderson's underdog, Dustin Rhodes.
18:28Yellow Dog beating Anderson to the punch, and now the masked man poised on the top,
18:33cross-body press, didn't fail to hook the leg.
18:42Anderson being hammered by both the Yellow Dog and Dustin Rhodes.
18:50Rhodes taking it outside with double A. Anderson trying to power drive Dustin,
18:56but he elevated instead.
19:00Anderson goes down hard, and now it's the Biscoe double team.
19:07And the self-proclaimed living legend throws out of bounds here.
19:15Which is a smart decision.
19:19Told you week after week, it's like when a quarterback is going to get nailed by a linebacker,
19:23he runs out of bounds, and everybody says, oh, smart decision, he didn't want to get
19:27sacked.
19:28When a wrestler's in trouble, get out of the ring, regroup, slow down your opponent's momentum,
19:34talk with your partner, get back in the ring, start all over again.
19:38I hope the fans will take time to call the wrestling hotline today,
19:43and keep an eye on this Lex Luger and his entourage situation.
19:48It's been a couple of days of, I guess you could say, following them around this week,
19:55and we'll have some exclusive, non-televised information for you regarding Luger, Simmons,
20:02and Windham, that whole violent situation.
20:07You'll see some video of it tonight on PBS, but the hotline has some very interesting
20:15pieces of information on that as well.
20:17Well, I hope you were honest and said that Ron Simmons instigated the whole situation.
20:22Well, that would not be honest, that he did not instigate it.
20:26Not in my estimation, anyway.
20:28The fans can be the judge when they watch TV later today on WCW.

20:37I've often envisioned Zbysko and Paul Lee being locked into a small room,
20:42and they could talk each other to death.
20:47Well, now we're a couple of used car salesmen and insurance salesmen, right?
20:53I wouldn't want to slander the car salesmen or the insurance salesmen of this country
20:58by categorizing you and the legend in that group.
21:03Living legend. Not just a legend, but a living legend.
21:06And now, AA not just going for the victory, but they're going to go for the mask.

21:20Probably one of top two or three teams, I would say.

36:02So many, you know, the wrestling fans are the greatest fans of any sport in the world.

36:08They are so, they love this sport.
36:12It consumes many of them.
36:14I've read a lot of letters in recent publications about the various championship belts and
36:24all so many interesting things.
36:27And I'm going to make some editorial comments on the hotline today.
36:30I'm sure I'll be grilled by it, by all the vaunted wrestling journalists out there that
36:36print their weekly information.
36:40Well, there's only one wrestling journalist's opinion.
36:43You really need to please.

42:12That may give him the opportunity to get Lady Blossom back to the locker room.

42:25She once again saved the world television champion, Sonny Steve Austin.
42:30As a result of a disqualification, won Simmons.
42:36Paul, I think we both have to agree that Sonny Steve's somewhat fortunate here.
42:41To retain the television championship against a red hot Ron Simmons.
42:45Hey, Ron Simmons is really on a tear as of late.
42:47And stunning Steve is very lucky to still be the world's TV champion.
42:50But hey, luck is part of being a champion, you know.
42:53You know, last Saturday night on World Championship Wrestling,
42:55Harley Race and Mr. Hughes had a conversation.
42:59As you know, you were there.
43:00So was I with Ron Simmons.
43:03Could that lead to bigger things tonight?
43:05Well, Harley Race came out to the ring and he, like Don Vito Corleone,
43:09made Ron Simmons an offer that he couldn't refuse.
43:11Only one problem, he refused.
43:14Now, what is Harley Race, Mr. Hughes and Lex Luger going to do
43:16to make sure that he does take their offer of forgetting about the Omnia,
43:20forgetting about August 25th, forgetting about taking on Lex Luger
43:24for the heavyweight championship of the world?
43:26I think we can expect some fireworks tonight surrounding
43:28the world's heavyweight championship.
43:30Ron Simmons is definitely on the hot seat.
