00:03I got a surprise for everyone!
00:05Everyone that gets in the ring with me!
00:08The best horsemen of them all!
00:10Sid Vicious!
00:11Will be carted out on a stretcher!
00:22Today's program is brought to you by Nintendo!
00:25Now, you're playing with power!
00:28Hi, everybody, and welcome back to WCW Pro Chicago, right here on WGN.
00:34Tony Schiavone along with Larry Zabitzko.
00:36Larry, what a great program this week, including a tag team encounter.
00:39Barry Windham, Arn Anderson, the horsemen.
00:41We saw them just last week, and back to basics, going up against a team of Wildfire,
00:45Tommy Rich and Ricky Morton.
00:47You know, if we can get these people just to be a little quiet around here,
00:50I want to express my admiration for the horsemen.
00:53Barry Windham, Arn Anderson, they are back to the basics.
00:57When you have to be tough.
00:59When men were men, and women didn't want to be, Tony.
01:02And, Larry, also this week, we have for the world television title,
01:05the champion, the Z-Man against Beautiful Bobby.
01:07Well, the Z-Man, you know, is a very capable upcoming star,
01:10and Beautiful Bobby is a well-seasoned ring veteran.
01:13In fact, watching the Z-Man, I'm thinking of that famous soap opera,
01:16The Young and the Useless.
01:17The Young and the Useless.
01:18So we're going to see if the Z-Man's got what it takes.
01:20And we're going to see a lot more, including Sid Bishop,
01:23Hoy Dangerly with the Danger Zone, and the World Tag Team Champions.
01:26Doom, right now, let's go to the ring.
01:29Ladies and gentlemen, the following eight-man tag team event is set for one fall.
01:33Introducing first the four horsemen.
01:36First from Minnesota at 249 pounds, Arn Anderson.
01:43His partner from Sweetwater, Texas at 280 pounds, Barry Windham.
01:55The introduction of the horsemen.
01:57Larry Zabisco at our first event, and we are waiting on Ricky and Tommy Rich.
02:05Their opponents.
02:06First from Minnesota, Tennessee, one out of the Rock and Roll Express, Ricky Morton.
02:12And his partner from Atlanta, Georgia, Wildfire, Tommy Rich.
02:19All right, here we go in our first event.
02:22The horsemen against Wildfire, Tommy Rich and Ricky Morton.
02:25You've got to realize and admit you've got four great veterans in the ring right now.
02:29Yes, this is going to be a match to watch, Tony,
02:31because neither team basically has an excuse for a defeat.
02:35You know, we've got Morton, we've got Rich.
02:37They're giving up some size to the horsemen.
02:39But then they've got speed and just as much, if maybe not a little bit more, experience.
02:44Arn Anderson looks to shake hands with Ricky Morton, and Ricky will not oblige at all.
02:52So Morton in the right frame of mind to do battle against the horsemen, and here we go.
02:56Collar and elbow tie-up, and I would assume in a show of strength there that Anderson would have the advantage.
03:05But now he's back to the corner, and Morton breaks away.
03:07Well, he does. He has the advantage strength, but Morton used the leverage.
03:11Okay, like I was talking a couple weeks ago about that pit bull versus the German Shepherd.
03:14I remember that story.
03:15Leverage is a very important weapon.
03:19Arn Anderson showed a little speed there.
03:21Sure is, a lot of quickness, and Anderson finds himself on a hammerlock.
03:24Good elbow.
03:25Boy, he nailed him, didn't he?
03:26Right to the face.
03:28You stick your nose in the wrong place, Tony, you're going to get it popped.
03:31Anderson, supreme confidence on that face.
03:35Fans want to remind you that we will be back at the UIC Pavilion on Friday, the 22nd of February.
03:428 o'clock is the bell time.
03:44Some very important announcements about that encounter,
03:47and that night of World Championship Wrestling still to come.
03:50Oh!
03:51Left hand right to the head.
03:52You know, for a second I thought it might be a clean break,
03:54but Arn Anderson did not disappoint me, and laid it right in,
03:57and Ricky Morton should have not been open for that.
04:00Are you trying to tell me you would have been disappointed with a clean break?
04:04Well, I would have not.
04:06I would have been caught off guard.
04:07All right.
04:08I think Morton was caught off guard.
04:09That's a mistake veterans aren't supposed to make.
04:12Side headlock as Anderson trying to squirm out of this one.
04:16Now for the ride.
04:18Knocked him down.
04:21Missed underneath.
04:22Oh!
04:23Wow, what a tremendous move.
04:25Oh, a good double reverse leg takedown by Morton.
04:28That's the speed.
04:29That's the speed that these men need to overcome the power of the horsemen.
04:33Anderson.
04:34Anderson in the dither.
04:36And he isn't.
04:37A what?
04:38A dither?
04:39I guess he isn't a dither.
04:41Might have a busted nose there.
04:43I think Morton got revenge.
04:45I think there's going to be two men in there with a couple of red beaks here pretty soon.
04:49Barry Windham outside.
04:50Barry Windham outside.
04:51And this, I would think Larry as much as anything else is the ploy to slow down any momentum
04:56that Ricky Morton has established.
04:57Oh, yeah.
04:58When you get, you know, Morton and Rich get momentum, you know, it's like the Super Bowl
05:01coming up.
05:02Right?
05:03They, uh...
05:04Of course, I never got into football because you've got 22 guys out there trying to impress
05:07their daddies and their biggest bunch of whips.
05:09That's why they wear a pad.
05:10But here we have some men that are going body to body.
05:13There's no pads on these guys, Tony.
05:16I know a lot of Chicago Bears wouldn't appreciate your comments on that.
05:21The Chicago Bears best keep their mat shut because they went out, you know, this season
05:25like a loser.
05:26Good arm grab.
05:27Another one.
05:29Twice now, a taller, bigger Barry Windham finds himself on the mat at the hands of Ricky
05:35Morton.
05:36Basically, it's hard to tie up.
05:37When you're a tall guy like Barry, you're tied up with a shorter man.
05:39As soon as you lunge out and tie up, you've overextended your center of gravity and the
05:44other man's got the leverage.
05:46Boom!
05:47Boy, that dotted his eye, so to speak.
05:49And Ricky Morton fires right back.
05:51And here's Morton.
05:52Really, some right hands and he checks the big guy.
05:55Windham is back up.
05:57Morton does got fired.
05:59Ricks got one in.
06:01He was in the wrong corner and he turned around.
06:04I don't think Windham realized exactly where he was, but now he does.
06:07Anderson and Windham still slowing the pace as Nick Patrick checks in.
06:12Yeah, they're playing a little bit of a chess game here, Tony.
06:15Slow down the momentum.
06:16They know that the weapons of Richard Morton are going to have to be speed and leverage,
06:20you know, and teamwork.
06:21They know they've got the power.
06:25Rich goes to the midsection.
06:27Side headlock.
06:28Takeover.
06:29And holds.
06:30And there's the head scissors.
06:31But Rich quickly out and they're right back to square one.
06:34Boy, I love to watch wrestling matches that look like chess games.
06:41Well, this is really turning into one.
06:44And right to the arm.
06:46There's a tag.
06:47Teamwork.
06:48Arn Anderson in.
06:49Arn Anderson, by the way, will be at the UIC Pavilion.
06:52One on one against beautiful Bobby.
06:54And that should be quite an encounter.
06:56Fans, by the way, tickets available at the box office and all Ticketron outlets,
07:00including Sears in the Chicagoland area.
07:02It has these two.
07:04Tell them the big announcement.
07:05All right, here's the big announcement.
07:06Big, big.
07:07That Larry Zbysko will be on the card at the UIC Pavilion.
07:11And Larry, I know a lot of people are anticipating that,
07:13especially based on the comments we've heard the last couple of weeks here.
07:16Well, you know something.
07:17I'm from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
07:18That's where my father, you know, moved to when I was a kid.
07:21But I was born on the south side of Chicago.
07:23You were?
07:24And we escaped there, you know, back in the early 1950s.
07:27Oh, Larry.
07:28He was just, you know, one or two years old.
07:31And people want to see me get back in the room.
07:34They're going to have their chances.
07:36That's going to be quite an event.
07:37Arne Anderson really laid it in to the wildfire man.
07:40Sending him into the rubs.
07:42No.
07:43Couldn't get him.
07:44Picks him up.
07:45Suts him down.
07:46Here comes Wyndon.
07:47And he goes down.
07:48Good drop kick by Rick.
07:50Boy, he continues.
07:52And with a series of moves right there, levels both horses.
07:55Well, you know, Tommy Rich, Ricky Morton, they've got experience.
07:58They've both been, you know, Morton more so than Rich in tag teams.
08:01They've got the teamwork.
08:03Again, we have the chess game.
08:05The horsemen outside, stalking, slowing that momentum.
08:08And now the huddle, we're right in on it.
08:11Let's listen in.
08:13Well, that was pretty simple.
08:15As he said, let's hammer somebody.
08:16Yeah, well, this is a man's sport.
08:17This isn't like football.
08:18You don't get time outs here.
08:20Chanted rock and roll from the fans here.
08:25And they are right behind the team of Ricky Morton and wildfire Chevy Rich.
08:29And now trying to get back in.
08:36I don't think which is going to be suckered to that corner.
08:43Side headlock.
08:44Sends him in.
08:45Over the top.
08:46Oh.
08:47Knee to the back.
08:48And down goes Tommy Rich.
08:49Well, they set him up for that one, Tony.
08:51You know, they set it up real nice.
08:54Shoots him in.
08:57Double elbow right down to the face.
09:00And Rich finds himself in a lot of trouble here.
09:03Now, speaking of that chess game now,
09:06it's going to be Tommy Rich's objective to get out of trouble quick,
09:09out, and tag Morton in as soon as he can.
09:12Because I tell you, the man is in pain.
09:15What do you say, Rich?
09:16Get up, Rich!
09:17Get up!
09:18Now,
09:21right to the face.
09:24Of course, what would be the obvious strategy for the horseman is not to let Tommy Rich go out and tag Morton.
09:30Jerry Windham tagged Arn Anderson.
09:32Keep the man in the ring.
09:34Right now, they are in the ring, but Rich continues to fight back.
09:39Anderson in trouble.
09:40Rich between the legs.
09:42Hot tag.
09:43Here we go.
09:44Both ends get the tag.
09:46And it's Ricky Morton.
09:47Ricky Morton leveling both men.
09:48Martin's handling both of these guys.
09:51He's given up a lot of size.
09:52Just with a right hand, too, Larry.
09:54It's basically punches here.
09:55He's right.
09:57Big guy goes over.
09:58Well, Martin is a very, very fast individual.
10:02Now, Barry Windham to the counterattack here.
10:06Martin rolls him up.
10:08Good move!
10:09Good move!
10:10He had a pin, Larry.
10:12And you're right about teamwork.
10:13He had him.
10:14He caught Barry Windham sleeping.
10:16But, again, that's that horseman teamwork.
10:19Arn Anderson was there.
10:21A knee to the midsection, and down goes Morton.
10:24Foot on the ropes.
10:25One, two.
10:26Wait a minute!
10:27Anderson pushed the foot off the ropes!
10:28That's a pin!
10:29They got him right there!
10:30Wait a second!
10:31The referee didn't see that!
10:32Ladies and gentlemen, the winners of the match,
10:34the four horsemen, Barry Windham and Arn Anderson.
10:37But we did see it.
10:38The foot was on the ropes, and Anderson pushed it off.
10:41The referee didn't see it, and he awards the victory to the horsemen.
10:45You talk about an injustice.
10:47Here we go again.
10:48Well, take a look at it.
10:49You know, Ricky Morton hit Barry Windham.
10:50It was a beautiful move.
10:52Caught him sleeping.
10:53Rolled him up.
10:54The teamwork of the four horsemen, what cost it was,
10:57Arn Anderson was waiting, and he was ready.
11:00This chess game of a match took that twist.
11:03Maybe the fans didn't want to see, but it's indifference
11:06that the man, the men, the four horsemen who are back to the basics
11:09are the ones that got the pin.
11:12And here's the leg on the ropes.
11:13You see it.
11:14You see Arn Anderson.
11:15He's going to move it right off, and then the referee makes the three count.
11:18I didn't see that.
11:19He looked, he saw no leg, and he made the three count.
11:25World Championship Wrestling in Chicago, Friday, February 22nd at 8th.
11:29The UIC Pavilion, a great night.
11:31Seven exciting matches, including the championship of the world.
11:34Rick Flair, flashing with the biggest man in wrestling.
11:37Seven foot seven, Elie Gante.
11:40Plus these matches, in a challenge match,
11:42Ryan Bryan taking on Michael Wall Street.
11:45Six man tag.
11:46Rick and Scott, the Steiner brothers, team up with C-Man
11:50to take on Fix It Vicious, Barry Windham and Standelarian Hanson.
11:54Beautiful body eating in action against Arn Anderson.
11:57The World Tag Team titles, up for grabs in Chicago.
12:00Doom, managed by Teddy Long, clashed with Plek Pfluger and Sting.
12:05And the championship of the world, at UIC Pavilion.
12:08Rick Flair meets the biggest man in wrestling, Elie Gante.
12:12Plus, Jerry Taylor, Ricky Morton, Tommy Rich, the Freebirds, and more.
12:17Tickets at the box office, and all tickets on outlets, including Sears.
12:20Friday the 22nd at 8, UIC Pavilion, Chicago.
12:23Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is set for one fall with a 15 minute time limit.
12:40It is for the world's television title.
12:42Introducing first the challenger from the dark side.
12:45He weighs in at 233 pounds.
12:48Beautiful Bobby!
12:57Beautiful Bobby, the challenger here, and he is set to go at this event.
13:01Randy Anderson, the referee, and we go back right into the ring to Tony Gillop.
13:06Here's the program as the world's television champion from Minneapolis, Minnesota.
13:11At 240 pounds, the Z-Man!
13:16Quite an ovation for the Z-Man, the youngster from Minnesota, who has really captured WCW in the world by storm.
13:26Set to go at this event on WCW Pro Wrestling.
13:38Hello? Are you there?
13:40Oh, don't look at me. You know, I'm just looking at the Z-Man.
13:42I'm thinking about the days when I started.
13:44I'm sure the Z-Man has the same dream.
13:46All those young aspiring athletes do.
13:48Make it bridge.
13:49Get a piece of Hawaii with a hut and a jeep and a beautiful deaf mute.
13:53The hard thing is, Tony, he's going to have to go through guys like me.
13:57Arn Anderson, Ric Flair.
13:59That little piece of the rock is almost impossible to get nowadays.
14:03Would you repeat that deaf mute line?
14:05No, forget it.
14:06I don't want anybody here.
14:07A hut, a jeep, a beautiful deaf mute.
14:08You can't go wrong.
14:09Oh, for goodness sakes.
14:10Now they go back to the corner and we get a break.
14:13Beautiful Bobby is a consummate wrestler.
14:16A high flyer.
14:17He is.
14:18In fact, speaking about another match, it's going to be like a chess game here.
14:23This is the young and the useless versus the ring veteran.
14:26He drops right down, does the Z-Man and kicks his way out.
14:31Boy, a good slim move out of that full Nelson into a, you know, kick off.
14:36Very, you know, well executed by Tom Zink.
14:38Z-Man has got a team with the Steiners to take out Sid Vicious, Barry Windham and Stan Hansen in Chicago.
14:44And right to a hammerlock.
14:48One of the matches that, that's going to be in Chicago on February 22nd.
14:52But right now in the mind of the Z-Man is defending the world TV belt.
14:55Boy, good drop to a hold by the Z-Man.
14:57In fact, this six-man tag team, I bet these six men alone could beat the whole Bears the way they played.
15:03You really think so?
15:04Oh, the way they played, you've got to be kidding.
15:06You know, we've got some real good friends of world championship wrestling.
15:09Brad Buster, fullback, and Maurice Douglas, defensive back.
15:13And I know they wouldn't take too kindly to you saying that, Larry.
15:16Well, the ironic thing is there's nothing they can do about it, Shivani.
15:20Right to the arm and the Z-Man trying to get back to his feet to grab any part of the body he can.
15:27He is up, but Bobby stays right on the arm again.
15:30You know, a good psychological approach by Bobby Eaton, seeing he is giving up some endurance and strength the way it looks to the Z-Man.
15:36Use those wrestling holes.
15:38Wear the Z-Man down.
15:41Confuse them with the psychology of it.
15:43When he thinks you're going to go after one move, do another.
15:46This is how you've got to play with these guys, especially the younger, inexperienced guys.
15:51Got a clean break, and the television champion looking as one of the top contenders.
15:57As a matter of fact, Beautiful Bobby is considered the number two contender to the world TV title.
16:02Of course, Larry, as you know, and most of our fans know, the number one contender to the WCW world television title is Arn Anderson,
16:09the former champion who was just in our tag team match and helped his team win considerably.
16:14We have the former champion, some pre-recorded comments earlier on today from Arn Anderson.
16:21Zink, I tried to tell you, you were a flash in the pan.
16:24You're not mad enough to keep that belt much less wet.
16:27Unless Bobby Eaton takes your head off in a short while.
16:30I'm coming for my belt back, and I get whatever I want every time.
16:35So there it is from Arn Anderson, and that's pretty straightforward, exactly what his goals are.
16:39That's why I like Arn Anderson. You have to be straightforward.
16:42Arn Anderson will be a contender in any league for any title.
16:45Very, very tough season individually.
16:48As is Bobby Eaton.
16:50An elbow to the chin, and now beautiful Bobby. Here's where he's at his best.
16:57Make or break.
16:58It may be break this time because the Z-Man was up to get him.
17:01And the Z-Man is going to hold on to him and send him down.
17:05You know, I think Bobby Eaton went a little too quick in the match for that type of maneuver.
17:09That was the super kick. That's one of his primary moves.
17:13And now sends him in. High back, but he took.
17:16Great elevation on that one. Here's the catch.
17:18Does he have him?
17:19Oh, sir.
17:20He didn't have him hooked good enough, Tony.
17:21He really didn't. He had the far leg hooked, but maybe not at the right point.
17:25Well, far leg, but you've also got to bend that neck up and look behind the neck and bring it up.
17:31And he missed that time as beautiful Bobby moved out of the way.
17:34That's a good point, Larry, about putting the arm underneath.
17:37And many guys don't do that.
17:38No, you basically, you have to hook.
17:41Bobby hooked the leg, didn't hook the head, but he brought the leg up to the weight of the top of the shoulder.
17:45Okay.
17:46Five minutes of a lapse in the match. Five minutes.
17:48Five minutes.
17:49You hear the five-minute announcement by Tony Gillum, our ring announcer.
17:55You know, I think, Tony, that beautiful Bobby here took a couple of unnecessary chances early in the ring,
18:00especially against a young guy in good shape as a hungry lion.
18:03And he's going to have to go back to that base and grab a hole, wear him down.
18:07That's it. Work on that shoulder.
18:08Lock that arm. Arm bar.
18:10Right down to the mat.
18:12Beautiful Bobby showing how versatile he is that he can take it right down to the mat also.
18:16Stop that momentum. Keep the man down. Work on it.
18:20No rush. No rush.
18:22And we are coming to you fans as always every Saturday morning right here on WGN and very excited about the UIC Pavilion.
18:29Friday, the 22nd of February, 8 o'clock, get your tickets early because it's a homecoming of sorts for my colleague Larry Zbysko back to the place that he was born.
18:39Well, it may be Saturday morning night, but don't expect to see Mr. Rogers on February 22nd.
18:46We don't, believe you me.
18:49Beat old Bobby and Arn Anderson, two of the top contenders for the World TV title, will battle it out one-on-one.
18:54Z-Man teams with the Steiners. What an event it's going to be.
18:57And right now, though, the Z-Man to his feet. Beautiful Bobby absorbs a blow.
19:04What a cheap shot. Here's beautiful Bobby working that resting hole, and the Z-Man hitting him in the stomach. Come on.
19:10If anybody should know a cheap shot, Larry, it would be you. Over the top now.
19:14Oh, right hand, right to the face. That's a good move by Bob.
19:18Wow, he's stunning with that right hand to the face. We were from behind with that camera angle.
19:22He didn't have that head hooked, and the Z-Man was able to spring out of that hole.
19:26Z-Man is in the ropes, and Randy Anderson is going to call for the break here.
19:31Z-Man still trying to spring out of this.
19:35He goes back to that hole, takes the man down, and wears him down.
19:40That's a wrestler's psychology.
19:43Now, why should Bobby Eaton fly around and take those high-risk maneuvers against a man like the Z-Man,
19:47who is basically known for that type of stuff?
19:49Take him down where, I don't care how tall you are on the ground, everybody's eight inches high.
19:54They are down on the mat right now as the hammerlock is applied.
20:01Z-Man, the world television champion, who finds himself in some trouble.
20:04Now, fans, this match is for the world television title.
20:07The number two contender, Beautiful Bobby, against the champion, the Z-Man.
20:10We do have to take a break. We'll keep the machines rolling, and we'll continue right after this.
20:15We continue right here on Channel 9, and the event's still going on.
20:23Nothing much transpired as really as determining factors in this match during the break.
20:27But right now, the champion's still in trouble, Larry.
20:30Well, you know, Bobby Eaton is using that psychology that I talked about.
20:33Keep the man down. Work on, well, small package by Z-Man.
20:37Yeah, he had the head hook that time, but he just didn't have the leg hook.
20:41Boy, it's a double whammy.
20:45Speaking of a whammy, there was a right cross that time.
20:47It was a little whammy.
20:48It sure was, right on the face.
20:49And now, Z-Man may be on the verge of losing his world television title
20:54to the number two contender right here.
20:56If that would be the case,
20:58Arn Anderson would go ahead for the title,
21:00and Beautiful Bobby and Arn Anderson meet in Chicago on February 22nd.
21:05But I tell you, it could obviously go either way right now.
21:08If Z-Man lost the title, it may be the best lesson he's ever had in his life.
21:12That's how you learn, Tony.
21:15Here's Bobby.
21:16Gets that head, worked on that shoulder, going for the suplex.
21:19He's supposed to take the wind out of the man.
21:21Arn Anderson, suplex.
21:22He got him over, and let's see if it did take the wind out of him, Larry.
21:26We have him hooked. Tighter, Bob.
21:29Now, this time, he takes the far leg, and he hooks it.
21:31He didn't have the head.
21:32Did not have the head.
21:34From Coach Sabisco, and now right for the short arm scissors.
21:39Again, he's wearing the Z-Man down with these holes.
21:42Actually, I could make a fortune starting a wrestling school.
21:47I think many people have tried that, Larry.
21:50Yes, but again, it's the quality of the teacher and the knowledge of the professor.
21:54And the cost of the tuition usually.
21:57That's the problem. No one can afford my advice.
21:59Apparently not.
22:01Continues the short arm scissors on to the Z-Man.
22:04A little disappointed in the Z-Man.
22:07Beautiful Bobby, short arm scissors, Z-Man's escape, punches him in the head.
22:11Very scientific on the part of the Z-Man, don't you think?
22:14Well, he's absorbed some of his own.
22:16You've got to fight fire with fires.
22:18The old cliche goes.
22:19He blocks the hip toss, and Bobby nailed him in the midsection.
22:22Ring veteran.
22:23Yeah, really.
22:24It's a ring veteran, but it's not scientific on the other side now, is it?
22:27Telegraph.
22:28Telegraph.
22:29He really did telegraph it, and now into a backslide.
22:32Could have it here.
22:33Oh, Bobby got out.
22:35Good attempt by the Z-Man, Tony.
22:37Hit it with a good wrestling move.
22:39Good knee.
22:40Settle down there, Coach.
22:41There's a high knee that found its mark right to the chest.
22:45You know, I watch these things.
22:46This is the reason I got myself booked in Chicago, because if I watch this,
22:50and basically I can't stand it anymore.
22:52Let me get back in the ring, show the fans what the pure art of professional wrestling is.
22:58Up on top.
22:59Bobby may try to end this match right here.
23:01Here he goes, and nobody's there.
23:03Right on the rear end, and the Z-Man kicks him down.
23:06The Z-Man coming back.
23:08Oh, he sends the Z-Man to the corner, and Bobby slowly back into it.
23:13Looks like he went for the figure four.
23:15A little too slow, though.
23:16He even kicked out of it.
23:17Z-Man over the top.
23:19Z-Man rolls him up.
23:20One, two, and a three.
23:22I don't believe it.
23:23I don't believe it.
23:24Ladies and gentlemen, the winner of the match, and still the world's television champion,
23:29the Z-Man.
23:30Settle down now, Larry, because he pinned him, and here it is one more time.
23:34This is our Nintendo power play.
23:36This caught me off guard.
23:37I'm sure as much as it caught Eaton off guard.
23:42Okay.
23:43We're going to take a look.
23:44Earlier in the match, he had a beautiful fast body drop.
23:48It was actually a chess game match from start to finish.
23:52And here is a beautiful move.
23:54The timing was perfect.
23:56He caught Eaton sleeping.
23:58Did he hook the type?
24:00No, he doesn't.
24:01Put the rope?
24:02Stay cool now.
24:03Nintendo, now you're playing with power.
24:06We're going to go to my good friend, Jack Brickhouse, this week in our Brickhouse Bonus.
24:11You know, the names for wrestling holds have always fascinated me.
24:15I'm listening to them today, like the Power Bomb and the Scorpion Deathlock.
24:19There are a couple of standards.
24:21When I was doing wrestling in the early days, if you didn't know a hold, you made up a name for it.
24:27And not only that, you'd hear it on the other guy's show a week later.
24:32Or if he made one up, you're liable to lift it from him.
24:35We used to kid each other about that Wayne Griffin, the other broadcaster and I in those days.
24:39But in those days, our names were things like the Boston Crab and the Claw and the Sleeper and the Cobra Twist, the Step Over Toe Hold.
24:47I originated that one.
24:49The Figure Four Leg Lock, I don't know where that one came from.
24:52The Claw, that was Vern Gagne's baby.
24:55And as I said, if you didn't know the name, make one up.
25:00Matter of fact, I think the first one I made up was the Piledriver.
25:04That's got to be a first cousin to the Death Bomb, right? The Power Bomb.
25:08I'm Jack Brickhouse.
25:10From Cincinnati, Ohio, at 227 pounds, Bryant Bryant.
25:30In the ring, his opponent from Los Angeles, California, Scrap Iron, Bill Ford.
25:38Bryant Bryant, Scrap Iron, Bill Ford set to go.
25:44Did you enjoy our Brickhouse bonus?
25:45You mean Jack Brickhouse is still living?
25:48You know, it was interesting listening to how he stole.
25:50Wait a second, I'm not going to listen to this.
25:51He just confessed to stealing names of all the holes he didn't know because he's a, you know, announcer, not a wrestler, didn't know what he was talking about.
25:58In fact, if Jack's looking for a hole, why don't we incorporate the lip lock on Mr. Brickhouse?
26:02I'm not going to sit here and listen to this about the true professional in the sport of broadcasting, Jack Brickhouse.
26:12So enough of it. Let's talk about Flying Bryant.
26:14Do you have your own opinion?
26:15Someday, Flying Bryant will be as old as Jack Brickhouse.
26:18Well, you have your own opinion, regardless of how wrong it is.
26:21And right now, from behind, Flying Bryant showing that he can go right to the mat with him also.
26:27Well, hey, Bryant's a good, a good, good wrestler.
26:30You know, you can tell by his physique, he puts a lot of time and effort into his career, which is important.
26:36On the other hand, Mr. Ford, if he doesn't go in for a quick victory, Tony, you're going to run out of the dreaded gas.
26:43In that case, it could be very dreaded.
26:48We have some news, Larry, I think you'll be very interested in to talk about as Flying Bryant gets sent down and over the top.
26:58Look at this.
26:59He pulled himself back in. This is the agility.
27:02And sends him through with a dropkick.
27:05We understand that our World Championship Wrestling officials are taking a close look at that Barry Windham Arn Anderson, Ricky Morton, Wildfire, Tommy Rich match earlier in the hour.
27:16And we may be looking at a return for next week.
27:19We'll have more on that a little bit later on in our program.
27:22Well, I obviously don't see any reason for them having a rematch.
27:25I mean, they were beat fair and square by the Horsemen.
27:28I tell you what, we also got to give credit to Beautiful Bobby.
27:33Scrap Iron Ford is right on to Brian Bryant.
27:36He really came close to being the World Television Champion.
27:39Well, I feel sorry for Beautiful Bobby.
27:41In my book, he was ahead on points.
27:43But the Z-Man caught him sleeping.
27:45I still can't get over that.
27:47And I'm sure Bobby is in the shower and he isn't singing.
27:50Good dropkick by Bryant. He can get up there.
27:53Spinning leg.
27:56And he's sending him down.
27:58He caught Mr. Ford right in the bumper.
28:02Slap right to the chest.
28:04And again.
28:08Pick up.
28:10Slam down.
28:14And now Flying Bryant.
28:16He's going for it.
28:17The catapult possibly coming right here.
28:19There he goes.
28:20About top.
28:21Good agility.
28:22The hook was better. He got him.
28:26Here's your winner, Flying Bryant.
28:29Flying Bryant with a sensational win.
28:32Here on WCW Pro Chicago.
28:35And here it is again, Larry.
28:37Well, I don't think Mr. Ford, he came in this match very ill-equipped.
28:41Right here, he thought he eluded Flying Bryant.
28:44But Brian held onto the ropes and pulled himself right back.
28:47This is good agility and this is what you need as a fundamental wrestler.
28:51It's nothing else.
28:54Standing dropkick.
28:55Boom.
28:56Right in the back of the head.
28:59And here it comes.
29:00Straight from Iraq.
29:01It looks like a scud.
29:03Boom.
29:07That was not a scud.
29:08That's right.
29:09They're not very accurate, are they?
29:10Oh, apparently not.
29:11We're crying out loud, Larry.
29:13More to come, fans.
29:14Stay with us.
29:15Tremendous matchup so far right here today on WCW Pro.
29:20Coming up next, Paulie Dangerously will talk to Teddy Long and Ron Simmons of Doom.
29:24And what a combination this is.
29:26You know something, Tony?
29:27Teddy Long has come a long, long way.
29:29And I hear that he's enjoying the good life with the limousines and the ladies and spending the money.
29:36And we're going to see exactly what Teddy Long has to say.
29:39The manager of the World Tag Team Champions.
29:42Down at the ring area right now is Paulie Dangerously with our Danger Zone.
29:46Let's go down to Paulie.
29:49Live on the Danger Zone, my guest will be not only the manager of the year, Mr. Theodore Long,
29:57but one half of the World Tag Team Champions Doom, Mr. Ron Simmons.
30:04So, as my guests come down the aisle right now, you'll notice one thing that Mr. Long takes a backseat to nobody.
30:17That Mr. Long has taken the greatest tag team in the history of professional wrestling
30:25and led them to the World Tag Team titles.
30:28Congratulations.
30:29Well, thank you very much, Paulie Dangerously.
30:31Now, if you're wondering where Saul Rutherford Reid is right now.
30:35That was my question, Teddy.
30:37Well, Saul Rutherford Reid is out right now making up his mind whether he wants to buy a Mercedes
30:42or whether he wants to buy a Rolls Royce.
30:44Now, we've got a match coming up and we're not worried about it.
30:47It's like taking candy from a baby and then we're going to do a lot of partying.
30:50You know what I mean?
30:51We're going to do a lot of partying.
30:52You know, yes, Ron.
30:53Look, I don't know about the partying, but I know one thing.
30:56It's going to be all business for Ron Simmons because business is what made Ron Simmons.
31:00That's why I was a three-time All-American.
31:02That's why I was a Heisman Trophy candidate.
31:04And that's why I will continue to be successful in this sport.
31:07Now, if they want to go and live large and hound the hog, that's on them.
31:10But as far as me, this is my bread and butter.
31:12And you can't buy butter if you don't get money.
31:14And this is my bank right here.
31:16You know, Teddy, that's exactly what...
31:18You know, it's such a great honor to be here with the manager of the year and one half of the world tag team ship.
31:24Hey!
31:26Wait a second.
31:28What in the world was this guy attempting?
31:32Number one, who is that man?
31:34That's Bob Arbin.
31:36The late Bob Arbin, I think, just made a fatal mistake.
31:39I don't believe he ran in and just hit Ron Simmons.
31:42Right to the face.
31:43This is what made Ron Simmons successful in everything.
31:47All right.
31:48Take a good look at this victim right here.
31:50Ron Simmons, certainly one of the biggest and baddest ever in WCW history.
31:54Let me tell you why I like Ron Simmons.
31:56You know, the Chicago Bears tried to draft this man.
31:58I think I've done playing for Florida.
32:00Florida State now.
32:01Florida State, whatever.
32:03Amateur stuff.
32:04But at least, I mean, he was tough enough to say, hey, throw away the pads.
32:08I don't want to belong to a group of losers.
32:10And he stepped in the ring where man went against man.
32:13That's why I never played football.
32:14Like I said, you got ten other idiots out there trying to impress their daddies,
32:18and no one knows what a vicious streak, you know, is for them.
32:21I wonder when.
32:22Win.
32:23All right.
32:24Right to the head.
32:26Ron Simmons sending Arvin in now to the other side.
32:29Elbow right to the chest.
32:31I think this man made a real big mistake in coming in and hitting Ron in the head.
32:35That's it, Ron.
32:36You got it.
32:37You got it.
32:39Big mistake as Simmons hits Arvin right in the jaw.
32:47I've been familiar with Ron Simmons here now for the last few years.
32:50I've watched his career and found him.
32:52He's one of the up and coming.
32:53But he has come a long way.
32:55He's always had the size.
32:56He's always had the power.
32:58But now he's getting the hang of being a veteran wrestler.
33:05Teddy Long likes to call the shot, so to speak, of when his man can pin him and when he can't.
33:11He's the godfather of WCW, he says, and Simmons.
33:15And it always, always amazes me why a guy who has the absolute ability that Ron Simmons has will resort to a choke hold because he needs moves like that.
33:25The power slam.
33:26Choke hold has no place.
33:27Well, like he said earlier, I mean, being a legend like myself doesn't buy you a cup of coffee.
33:33Right.
33:34You want to go out and buy that car.
33:35You want that house.
33:36You want to wave your gold card around and attract a few women.
33:38You've got to have some bread.
33:40And that means you have to win.
33:42And there is the sidewalk slam and the three cap.
33:45One of the Mets would have the World Tag Team Champions of Doom, Ron Simmons.
33:50Completely destroyed Bob Arbin that time with that sidewalk slam.
33:55And there's the manager of the year, Theodore Arlong, as voted on by the subscribers of Pro Wrestling Illustrated.
34:02This is our Western Union replay, Larry.
34:05That's very exciting, Tom.
34:06Go ahead.
34:07As you can see, Ron Simmons had no problem at all with Mr. Arbin.
34:11He just drank them.
34:14Your winner, Ron Simmons, one half of the World Tag Team Champions, who is all business at Western Union,
34:20as we know, is the fastest way to send money.
34:23You know, Tony, the man looks like the Sears Power walking down the ramp.
34:27And in the ring, his opponent from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Todd Colina.
34:32Against Ty Colina, Sid Vicious is set to go.
34:34And in the ring, his opponent from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Todd Colina.
34:37Against Ty Colina, Sid Vicious is set to go.
34:42Maybe we should send this Todd over to the same barber that did Flair's hairdo.
34:47Right from behind, Vicious waits no time.
34:50Look at the upper body development on Sid Vicious.
34:52Is he awesome or what?
34:53Like I said, he looked like Sears Power walking into the ring.
34:57The man didn't even get his jacket off yet.
34:58And I think that's the way we can see him.
34:59And we can see him again.
35:00From Milwaukee, he is out of the way,
35:02He's looking for the middle of his balls around the world.
35:03That's what we can see him for all the way.
35:04I think it's the better.
35:05So, everyone going to get the ax up to the net.
35:06You know, that's not the right score of should we assume that we don't miss any other
35:07games?
35:08Maybe that's the right.
35:09So, it's the right, we're right."
35:10Right from behind, Vicious wastes no time.
35:14Look at the upper body development on Sid Vicious.
35:16Is he awesome or what?
35:17Like I said, he looked like fierce power walking into the ring.
35:21The man didn't even get his jacket off yet.
35:25And I think that's the way that Sid Vicious wants it.
35:29Certainly living up to his name, Sid Vicious pulling the hair of Galena.
35:35And now from behind, big sledgehammer blown to the chest.
35:39Mr. Galena better go back to the drawing bar, because even just knowing you have a match with a man like Sid Vicious,
35:45I wouldn't even get the ring with my jacket on.
35:47You've got to expect the unexpected.
35:50Well, that's a good point, especially when it comes to Vicious.
35:53Six foot nine, over 330 pounds.
36:00Boom.
36:00He mentioned at the top of the program that, by golly, that he was out to take people out.
36:10And he was going to take them out on a stretcher, or it doesn't matter what.
36:14Well, I tell you, he's doing what he has to do to survive as a professional wrestler.
36:18He's got to shoot off his mouth.
36:20He's got to be tough.
36:21And he's got to get those top matches.
36:23You don't have to shoot off your mouth, Larry.
36:25Of course you do.
36:26Of course you do.
36:28You have to be tough.
36:30And the power bump.
36:31Like a piece of paper.
36:34Snapped him in half.
36:37The winner of the match is big Sid Vicious.
36:42Sid Vicious is awesome.
36:45And I don't think the winner's getting up.
36:48He didn't get up, did he?
36:50You know, no problem whatsoever for Sid Vicious here.
36:54Like a piece of paper.
36:55I think this man was in shock before the bell rang, Tony.
36:58Before the bell rang.
37:00Well, they are bringing some medical attendants out here.
37:05He must have hurt this guy bad.
37:06Wait a second.
37:08Look at these guys.
37:10Look at these guys are dressed.
37:11These guys.
37:12You know, he must have hurt this man bad for them to have the paralegals come in and roll this man out.
37:16These guys are not paramedics, nor paralegals.
37:18Look at how they're dressed.
37:20What are they, the Domino's pizza boy?
37:21They're helping this man out.
37:22And look at Vicious.
37:24Stolfi now and Galita.
37:26And turning this gurney or stretcher over.
37:30There's no call for this, for goodness sakes.
37:32There is no call for this, except Sid Vicious.
37:35He's definitely making himself a reputation in world championship wrestling.
37:39Making himself a reputation.
37:43He's running through people.
37:46And Sid Vicious, the man who rules the world, making his way out after upsetting the gurney or the stretcher, whatever you want to call it, and destroying his opponent.
37:55Back with more fans.

38:54Friday the 22nd at 8.
38:56UIC Pavilion.
38:57Chicago.
39:11Our program, Balky in part by Western Union.
39:14The fastest way to send money.
39:16The following tag team event is set for one fall.
39:20Introducing first team number one.
39:22They are the United States tag team champions from Detroit, Michigan.
39:26And it's Scott Steiner.
39:27The Steiner Brothers.
39:32Entering opponents from Union City, Indiana.
39:35Rob Morgan.
39:36And his partner from Frankfort, Kentucky.
39:38Mike Samples.
39:40Morgan and Samples.
39:41They look determined, but they're going up against the U.S. tag champs.
39:45You know, I noticed that myself.
39:46This, uh, Morgan.
39:47Is that him in the red shirt?
39:48No, that's Samples.
39:49Samples.
39:50We had a very determined look on his face.
39:51And I tell you, he's going to need it.
39:53Because these two guys, even though they go to St. Barbara, Flair does, are excellent, excellent wrestlers.
40:00Two of the best.
40:02And as a matter of fact, we have some comments recorded earlier on from the Steiner's.
40:09Samples runs his mouth.
40:11Let's listen to those comments right now.
40:14You see, Freebirds, you mistake me and my brother for somebody who really gives it down.
40:19You see, when we're going, we have no parental guidance.
40:21So whatever happens to you, Freebirds, we're not responsible for.
40:24Rick Flair, last time I wrestled you on national TV, I was ready for you, and I put you down.
40:29This time, you better be ready for me.
40:32All right, some threats going down.
40:34And, of course, Scotty Steiner's talking about his match with nature boy Rick Flair coming up this week on nationwide TV.
40:40In addition, they're talking about the fabulous Freebirds, top contenders to the U.S. tag title.
40:47You know, obviously not a couple pair of very witty brothers, but they are big, strong, tough guys.
40:53There's samples in the red.
40:55He just went up and down.
40:57Oh, good suplex.
40:59Well, Scotty Steiner is one of those guys who's revolutionized tag team wrestling or any type of wrestling.
41:05He has.
41:06They put a lot of very high-tech variations on, you know, wrestling moves that made them, I mean, really outrageously devastating.
41:14You know, like a regular suplex or something like that.
41:17What is he going to make with the Z-Man at the UIC Pavilion on February 22nd?
41:21And now we're going to see the top rope DDT, Larry.
41:24You'll be able to feel this one.
41:25Oh, my God.
41:26Oh.
41:27Is that too much or what?
41:28I think you better call out for your gurney.
41:31Or your geek doctors or whatever.
41:33Wow.
41:33The United States Tag Team Champion Steiner Brothers are your winner.
41:38I don't want to beat a dead horse, but they weren't paramedics out here with Sid Vicious for crying out loud.
41:43And the Steiner's, go ahead, pick him away.
41:45I don't know what you're talking about, but the Steiner's looked like a bunch of Patriot's missiles going after the Scud, and down he went.
41:51Lucky the man didn't break his neck there.
41:53Not that the Steiner's would really care, but that is an awesome, awesome move.
41:57Should be banned.
41:58We have some information, Larry, about the match earlier on as we take a look at the winners of the match, the Steiner Brothers.
42:36The fact that Morton and Rich, two veterans who should know better, are being crybabies.
42:41They had their chance, Tony.
42:42They went up against the horsemen who had that good down-to-the-basics attitude, and they lost.
42:48So, you know, a rematch to me is kind of absurd.
42:50It's just a result of, I think, two veterans crying for the right source.
42:54Well, that's one man's opinion, regardless.
42:57That's my opinion.
42:58That's Larry's opinion.
42:59Pardon me, but regardless, we will have that tag team match next week.
43:02Once again, the big return match right here.
43:04Barry Windham, Arn Anderson against Wildfire.
43:06Tommy Rich and Ricky Morton will leave you with taking a look at the action, what transpired earlier on.
43:12Here's how it all happened, Larry.
43:16Rolls him up, and Arn Anderson, you talk about great teamwork.
43:19It really happened that way.
43:20Because Arn Anderson was waiting in the shadows, and boom, he was there to make the save.
43:26Actually, he saved the day.
43:27And then it was the leg on the ropes.
43:29Arn Anderson pushed it off.
43:32But Barry Windham still got the pin.
43:34We'll see it right here.
43:35The referee looking at fans.
43:37This will be a rematch next week.
43:39Barry Windham and Arn Anderson.
43:40There's the referee looking at the three-counts against Ricky Morton and Wildfire.
43:44Tommy Rich.
43:45We'll see you then.
