00:01Last week on WCW Pro Wrestling,
00:04Terry Taylor picked up another great win over a tough West Man Tell
00:07and made it known to WCW that he wants to be considered for some title matches.
00:11And the Candyman and Tracy Spothers had a tremendous tag team match against the fabulous Freebirds.
00:16And now, stay tuned for more action this week, here on WCW Pro Wrestling.
00:30This is WCW Pro Chicago, Tony Schiavone and the very opinionated Larry Zabisco.
00:48Well, you know, it's only been 15 glorious years, so I know what the heck I'm talking about.
00:52In fact, 1991 here, I think it's going to be a year of Ric Flair's sting.
00:57I'm seeing this come to a head, you know, it's of personal interest to me.
01:00But we're going to find out, I think, if Sting is a tough man or if he's the luckiest man in the world.
01:05And we're going to find out today with all the top stars in the WCW what's happening.
01:09Here's who's on the program this week.
01:13All right, we will see in singles competition from Mexico, the Sensational Conan, the Danger Zone.
01:18Paulie Dangerously will introduce us to the awesome power called the Minotaur.
01:23So we're looking forward to that this week.
01:25This is a singles competition.
01:27We'll also see here Flying and Brian as well as the World Television Champion Z-Man in our feature matchup.
01:33He'll be defending his World Television belt against Boondog Rex.
01:37All and much more. Let's go to the ring.
01:39From Cincinnati, Ohio, at 227 pounds, Flying and Brian.
01:55In the ring is upon us from Chicago, Illinois, at 252 pounds, Tom Burke.
02:01Flying and Brian in Chicago's own Tom Burke.
02:03And this event on WGN.
02:05Let's hear from Flying and Brian earlier on, recorded early.
02:09We've heard everybody's promises and predictions for 1991.
02:13And I've always encouraged the kids out there to set your goals high.
02:17Well, that's what Flying and Brian's going to do in 1991.
02:20I'm going sky high after that World Heavyweight Championship.
02:25Well, leave no stone unturned, Larry Zubisca.
02:27He says he wants to be the World Champion.
02:29Well, you know, you have to set your goals high, Tony.
02:32Everybody knows that.
02:33But the only thing is, you can't let your dreams get in the way of reality.
02:37You know, the dreams of you are nothing more than the regrets of tomorrow.
02:41And Flying and Brian, who is a definite, you know, wrestling star of the future,
02:47he's got a lot to learn, in my opinion.
02:51Speaking of stars, the top superstars of the WCW will be returning to Chicago
02:56in the UIC Pavilion.
02:57And that's coming up next weekend on the 20th of January.
03:00It's Nightmare Takedown.
03:01We'll be talking about that.

03:07And right now you see that Flying and Brian is hovering over Tom Burke.
03:11Certainly a young man that really uses his speed and quickness,
03:14but he also has deceptive power.
03:16Well, that's, you know, that's the weapons of Flying and Brian.
03:19He is an athlete.
03:20You've got to give the kid credit.
03:21He's a good athlete.
03:22He's a natural, you know, wrestler.
03:25Look at the way he's going into that back bridge, you know,
03:28with Burton putting on the pressure.
03:30Look at the way he gets up.
03:31That takes tremendous abdominal strength.
03:34Tremendous balance.
03:35Well, you're right, Larry.
03:37Dominal strength is right in there.
03:38The thing that makes strength work is endurance.
03:41If you're not in shape, you're not going to be strong.
03:43If you're not quick, you're not going to be eaten in,
03:45especially if they've got no more sight.
03:47Look, a good hit cost there by Flying and Brian.
03:50Good run.
03:51Right on top of it, isn't it?
03:53The only thing Flying and Brian needs is years of experience.
03:58You know, he's going to be definitely, you know, one of the contenders.
04:01And if he's got his eye set in the world championship,
04:03sort of reminds me of me some glorious years ago.
04:06That's what I had my mind set on.
04:09All right, back in.
04:11You know, this Burton doesn't look like any pushover.
04:13Now, Flying and Brian, let's check out the experience
04:16because you can't give a sucker a break.
04:18Is that one of your models?
04:20Well, sort of like, you know, as we're coming up to January 15th,
04:22the super deadline, you know, if we don't go in and throw him out
04:27when we say, you know, what's our word worth?
04:30Good move.
04:31That's a wrestling move.
04:33That really is.
04:34And look what he did.
04:35He turned it right into a sunset flip.
04:37It was a good wrestling move, a little fine point.
04:39When you do a maneuver and you want to pin a man,
04:41you have to do the maneuver in the middle of the ring.
04:43Getting hit near the ropes can take a beautiful move,
04:47make it a complete wasted effort.
04:49That's a great point.
04:50And right down on the mat right now,
04:51driving the arm right down in.
04:52Flying and Brian really mixing it up here
04:55with some high-flying great maneuvers.
04:57And now right down on the mat,
04:59and that's what he gets back to,
05:00the basics of putting the man on the mat.
05:04As Nick Patrick, our senior official, checks in.
05:07Burke being rolled over, has two shoulders.
05:10I actually have one shoulder down.
05:12See, Brian's got to use a little bit more leverage here, Tony,
05:15to get a big man like that over on his shoulder.
05:17He's giving up weight here.
05:19Back to the neutral corner,
05:22and this is where Burke is going to be able.
05:24I don't think there's much force behind those blows, though.
05:26And Flying Brian showing him how to do it.
05:28Burke may be running out of gas.
05:30This is where the endurance makes the strength worthwhile.
05:3310 minutes, 15 minutes into the match.
05:35All right.
05:36Brian Brian's got to stay aggressive.
05:38Great ability showing there, and a great sense of timing,
05:43as Brian is on the outside.
05:45He's setting up something.
05:47It could be his off of the top of a slingshot.
05:50It is.
05:51And that puts him down, and that puts him out.
05:53Let's go.
05:54He's going to go.
05:55This is Brian Brian.
05:56All right, Larry.
05:57That was a sensational win,
05:59and you brought up some great points during that match.
06:01Let's take a look at it one more time.
06:03Well, Brian, you know, using his agility,
06:05uses his speed.
06:07Beautiful moves there.
06:09I mean, he's a much better wrestler than Burton,
06:11so to go to a high-risk maneuver,
06:13you know, why take the chance?
06:17He still caught Burton sleeping.
06:18I think he knocked the win out of Burton a little while ago.
06:20Burton didn't even know he was up there.

07:50You know, Tony, it was just one of the most brutal matches
07:52I've ever seen in my life.

07:55Reminds me of the matches I had with Sam Martino
07:58and Bockwinkle when I retired them.
08:00In fact, I like the whole new outlook of the Four Horsemen.
08:04In fact, I think we've got a video coming up

08:08It's the new attitude, Larry.
08:10Let's take a look at the horsemen.
08:11When men were men.
08:12All right, let's take a look at the video.
08:14A lot of people out there may think,

09:53The horsemen don't rest.
09:55When we win a championship, we go full bore to keep a championship.
10:01Like so many of our opponents, this is the way they look and feel the morning after a match with us.
10:20This may be a symbolic way of showing you the primitive way we're gonna deal with things.
10:27America's greatest fear is gang violence.
10:31But the horsemen are concerned that there's not gonna be any drive-by shootings.
10:35We're gonna keep it legal, but we're gonna keep it as violent as the law allows.
10:41No one's safe.
10:43Jump on the horsemen.
10:44You're going to the hospital in the 90s.

11:24Well, 1991 was the year that the horsemen went back on top!

11:30By Windham and Arnest, they will be the tag team champions!
11:35And Sid Vicious will be a U.S. champion.
11:39Because Sid Vicious will be a U.S. champion.
11:44Some very pointed predictions from the big man Sid Vicious.
11:47Well, you know, Sid Vicious obviously is not as big as Operation Desert Shield.
11:51You know, it's his own opinion whether he rules the world or not.
11:55We all have our own.
11:57But, uh, imagine Vicious has the same problem I do.
12:01The hard part in my career is finding men with, you know,
12:04enough guts to put the reputation on the line.
12:07I don't think there's any denying the, uh,
12:09if I can use guts or intestinal fortitude, another term we always use.
12:13Intestinal fortitude sounds a bit smoother.
12:15Well, you know, and I think that certainly Sid Vicious has a lot of both.
12:19Or whatever.
12:21As he's stomping on Man Bailey...
12:23You know, he's got an appearance that if he dropped in the desert,
12:25the Iraqis would just run away.
12:27He's one of the most impressive people I've ever seen in my entire wrestling career.
12:31However, the Brontosaurus was the biggest dinosaur of all,
12:35had the brain the size of a pea.
12:37So, uh, are you trying to get at anything here?
12:40I mean...
12:41I don't know, maybe he irritated me with the Sid Vicious rules.
12:43You know, there's a place called Larry Land still in existence here.
12:47Well, okay, that's from Larry Zbysko.
12:49And, right now, Sid Vicious slapping Mountain Man Bailey.
12:53I think it's very obvious here, you know,
12:55we have seen Sid Vicious in the weeks, right here on Channel 9.
12:59And he has been taking apart men much smaller than he is,
13:02but now here's a big guy, and he's really taking care of him also.
13:05Yeah, well, you know, Sid Vicious, I mean,
13:07to compare the two just standing there,
13:09I mean, the man is in incredible physical condition.
13:11You have to give him the credit.
13:13He's a strong man.
13:14He's got to be one of the most, you know,
13:16ridiculously impressive brawlers I've seen in the sport.
13:20Now, whether the test of time, you know,
13:24is going to prove this man of worth,
13:26but it'll be interesting to see, you know,
13:29with that basic struggle is between a man like Sid Vicious,
13:32the brawler and a man of science, you know, a wrestler.
13:37Pounding on Mountain Man Bailey,
13:38who's obviously not the scientific wrestler you're speaking of right here, Larry,
13:42and I would assume that you're referring to yourself.
13:44Well, basically, we have a mega brawler against some guy trying to be a brawler,
13:49and I don't see Sid Vicious having any problem with this man at all.
13:53He's just not in the shape.
13:54He's just not the talent.
13:56A right cross to the face, and a forearm,
13:59and Mountain Man Bailey's in trouble.
14:01Sid Vicious really on target with those blows,
14:03and he's a guy that can stomp and pound you, like we've been saying, right through the mat.
14:08Well, I tell you, and that's what I appreciate in the man,
14:10and that's what the wrestler has to have, Tony.
14:12He's got to keep on pounding you.
14:14You cannot have a heart.
14:16I think Vicious could beat this man.
14:17He could be beating him right now.
14:20The fans responding to Sid Vicious.
14:23Look at this.
14:24It's the best thing going.
14:26Sid Vicious, and Sid Vicious rules the world.
14:30He says it's the best thing going,
14:32and there is no lack of confidence.
14:34Of course, that is a certain attribute
14:36that the horsemen have always had,
14:38and there's a knee right to the face.
14:39Well, and again, you know, being with the horsemen,
14:41you've got Arn Anderson, you've got Ric Flair,
14:43Barry Windham.
14:44The experience that this man can combine
14:46with his physical force
14:48could make him the most awesome wrestler of the night.
14:51Look at that.
14:52A power bomb.
14:54Like a piece of paper.
14:55You're right, and he puts him out.
14:57Let's go to Tony Gillum.
14:59The winner of the match is Big Sid Vicious.
15:02We have just been looking at that horseman video,
15:05talking about back to the basics and the violence,
15:07and I think Vicious really exhibited that right here, Larry.
15:10Well, I almost feel sorry for this man right here,
15:16because Sid Vicious is, you know, one of the most awesome men.
15:20Look at the face.
15:21He does not care.
15:22His object is to hurt people, and he did the job.
15:26With what he's going to learn from Ric Flair and the other horsemen,
15:30couldn't make this man Tony.
15:32Look at it.
15:34Like a piece of paper.

15:53When Paul's E Dangerously vowed right here, on the Danger Zone,
15:54woman or child on the face of god's green earth that could not come on the danger zone and be
16:01interviewed i meant it i meant every single solitary word of it and there is no man not
16:08champion not ex-champion not football player baseball player not one sports figure today
16:14that i wouldn't interview right here on the danger zone but i said nothing about something that is
16:19not of this earth i said nothing about a thing a creature a half man half beast a true to life
16:30living minotaur i said nothing about welcoming on to a danger zone a man that is not a human being
16:41something that is not even a man to begin with i said nothing about a half bull
16:48half man and when this bull enters the rings of world championship wrestling the minotaur does
16:57not want to take a single prisoner the minotaur will not drag his opponent back to the dressing room
17:06in a bloody heap the minotaur will not take his opponent after the destruction that he will bring
17:14into the rings of world championship wrestling and drag the limpless body out into the parking lot
17:21the minotaur wants no prisoners what the minotaur wants in world championship wrestling is to leave
17:31his limpless bloody lifeless opponent in the middle of the ring so that not man woman or child can enter
17:41the ring with the half man half bull and not be his victim
17:46from the muscular resurrection to mexico and the final five hundred twenty million pounds
17:53christian mark the renegade warriors
17:56in the ring their opponents first from muchdale ohio jeff soar and from albuquerque new mexico
18:07mark kyle all right jeff soar to mark kyle against renegade warriors but larry first of all what about
18:12this awesome minotaur first look at him wow tony you know first time i saw him and the man makes
18:17freddy krueger look good right about that as we take a look at the renegade warriors we're going to be
18:23hearing more about the minotaur i'm sure the weeks to come right here on wcw pro chicago but right
18:30now the renegade warriors certainly a tag team that we all have to consider is one of the top
18:37in world championship wrestling right now you know they say that for some reason indians have that
18:42natural coordination and that that built-in type of balance you know i don't know if that's true
18:47and we'll find out here well you're right about the built-in type balance worthy from the indians
18:53these two from the from new mexico a side headlock as mark is in there now of course they are the
19:01young brothers but known as the renegade warriors here in world championship wrestling over the top
19:05mark young blood with a tomahawk chop on a sleeve in there good arm well they really keep the pressure
19:12on though they're very quick keep the pressure on i'm almost wondering uh maybe uh indians here
19:17should like what you gonna hold on a man keep that hold on like he's got him now don't let him get
19:22out and tag his partner mark i'm sorry i'm sorry step on me again mark kyle very strong individual
19:29and it's good to keep him off his feet you can talk now if you like thank you very much
19:35over the top look at that drop kick from chris young blood you know it's a good setup and this
19:40is what a good tag team has to do you're right as kyle goes on the outside now we had a chance
19:47earlier on in the course of the day to talk to mark and chris young blood they have oh look at that
19:53drop kick they have some pointed things to say about the tag team because he's outside the ring
19:58doesn't mean he's you know you can't touch him right let's hear from the young bloods at this time
20:02the renegade warriors mark and chris we're after you four horsemen because we're going to come
20:11after you then we're after the world tag team title doom the four horsemen don't think we're a
20:16stepping stone because we're coming after you the year 1991 the renegade warriors
20:21well it looks like they could use a little bit more competition tony because they put these guys
20:30away pretty quick it was a good little wrestling move that he hooked them with
20:33nice drum you like the drum let's take a look at exactly what happened as they put mark kyle down
20:41well you know you know a tag team has to have that you know double man you know cooperation they have
20:48to know each other's style they have to keep their team off balance with that quick in and quick out
20:52boom they got him double again always watching the other man i mean they know what they're doing in the ring
21:00and they do it but we'll see if they got what it takes to take them to the top
21:07i had heard about the steiner brothers scott and rick and their popularity as they came out of the university of michigan
21:16into professional wrestling and the way they've come along and i saw them just recently and now i know
21:21why they are so popular in chicago they did a superb job they reminded me a little of another superb
21:27brothers team hans and fritz schnaubel maybe some of you folks have been around a little while remember
21:32the schnaubels hans very strong fritz very strong and very agile they were great they did a wonderful job
21:39and uh not without a little bit of a temper here and there on the golden gate bridge out in san francisco
21:45one time some guy honked his horn and honked his horn and honked his horn behind hans who got out of
21:51it got out of his car picked the other guy's car up and tipped it over and drove away and left the
21:57guy on the bridge true story hans and fritz schnaubel welcome to wrestling the snyder brothers i'm

22:19ladies and gentlemen at 321 pounds from parks unknown moon dog
22:24rex it's our feature matchup this week on wcw pro and the challenger moon dog rex a man in his bone
22:32a man in his bone i've heard that somewhere before i've never heard that before
22:37here's the champion and his opponent is a brand new world television champion from minneapolis minnesota
22:48at 240 pounds the sea man you know it's amazing a lot of people think that this uh you know sea man
22:57here is a good looking guy you know i sort of smiled at myself and i know over the coming years how ugly
23:03someone can get with their team left out and run a star oh larry come on we have some pre-recorded
23:07comments from the world tv champion the z-man let's listen in winning the tv championship the world
23:13championship was the biggest event in my career now defending it is even going to be the hardest
23:19part because everyone's gunning for you and the z-man is going to do just that i'm the champion you want
23:24a shot come and get it pretty much an open contract there larry well he's right about one thing that
23:29you know when you get a championship especially a nationwide television you know championship
23:34people are going to be after you and z-man is going to be a hard man to catch he is good side
23:40headlock takeover after the hip toss and look at moondog rex how he rolled up moondog's a seasoned
23:47veteran don't let his uh you know blue jeans screw you the man can wrestle i don't think there's any
23:52question that's why it's a feature matchup this week and the z-man realizes this and you see he's a
23:58shot there in his stomach he's not going to let nothing go z-man this is going to be a test for
24:02the young guy because uh you know it's just a long beginning of the list of people going to be
24:07challenging and it's like he said earlier on whoever you are whoever you are even a larry zabisco
24:13he will give you a title shot into the corner z-man using some quickness here you're right into the
24:21action and he hip tossed him out again yes good drop kick good move by moondog go out throw the
24:27kick momentum off and i think that's what you're going to be seeing the moon dog do throughout the
24:32match is trying to keep the z-man off that momentum because he's a young fast guy and he is a good
24:38wrestler it's just that experience now we're going to see is he going to let moondog kick to him or is
24:43he going to be able to out you know wrestling is just a game of chess
24:47i think you've said that before well i've got this computer that i beat on the bobby fisher level
24:55yeah about at least 90 of the time on level six it's tough that's the ultimate computer level
25:00okay the z-man's hit on me he's like i'm not gonna take nothing you want to wrestle fine you know
25:05look here turned into a belly to back suplex you couldn't get him over that time larry as he tried
25:12his best to take him over the side headlock moondog rex just held his weight that's a little bit of the
25:17experience tony because when you get that headlock on you got to snap that move and sink was just a
25:21little slower he's into the corner now moondog rex knocks that wind out of him now for the ride into
25:30the corner here comes the z-man moondog picks him up oh he got him on that road now that's a
25:35nash talk about something that should be outlaw you know what happens if your esophagus swells up you
25:41suffocate didn't think of it like that you're in the ring you think about a lot of
25:46a lot of things i bet you do and you know that was a great sense of ring awareness that time
25:50from moondog knowing how far to go back to get him up against the turnbuckle and you only get that by
25:55spending years in the ring you know the z-man the brian kilden the steiners they're all great great
26:02villains tremendous clothesline later on the top years of wrestling tony are just hard to be
26:07down goes the z-man and the moondog rex is really trying he's not letting up not at all backbreaker
26:16maybe you're yes that hurts that hurts i hate that rex could have the win here larry and there nope got
26:25a two cap that's the conditioning that's keeping the z-man going it's pure conditioning need the endurance in the ring
26:31right hand right to the eyes a veteran move nasty but it served its purpose the z-man is in trouble
26:40here and it's the years of experience that's given him the hard time and moondog shot in the mouth
26:46boy stays right with him and right now back to the corner we have z-man in trouble but that doesn't
26:51deter him at all he continues to fight up we got a headbutt oh outside the champ's in trouble
26:58it's getting real interesting tony right to the back of the neck moondog's not going to let up
27:06you better watch the count he's got him in trouble don't blow it on the couch yeah you're right he
27:11rolls back in nick patrick with some warnings moondog rex well prepared to go after the world
27:17television belt right here basically if i was the moon dog i'd be a little bit more aggressive don't
27:21let the z-man get his breath there he goes keep on him he waited too long he waited too long
27:29and it's the z-man sending him in oh he got him he really did with a knee telegraphic by z-man
27:35he didn't happen that good he didn't happen that good this could be it we have a two cap and the
27:40champ's out again that neck breaker wasn't that snappy of a move but the moon talks a little tired
27:46he's off with both of these men he telegraphed it can he get him over he does here's the count we
27:55have a two he didn't have him tight oh you saw that one larry didn't have him tightly down to the
28:00back that's something that happens you know 10 minutes in the match especially when it's a hard
28:04fought match you know your wind goes your timing goes this is where a lot of injuries happen right
28:10now when you don't have that 100 you know power and everything endurance pays off here for the
28:17four horsemen around beating up cars right hand to the face down goes the z-man well down with the
28:25moon dog but we know you're okay down goes the moon dog thanks larry for jolting me that time
28:31moon dog went down and the champion now hits the ropes on the other side yeah he got the speed in there

40:33a look at printouts what do you think about that well it only tells me that michael wall street has
40:39one ambition in mind and that's to go to the very very top otherwise you don't put up that effort for
