00:00New South Wales is bracing for days of heavy rain, damaging winds and damaging surf conditions,
00:08mostly at the moment concentrated around the Hunter and the mid-north coast.
00:11It's all courtesy of a trough that's stalled in place and it isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
00:17It's been cradled by this high-pressure system that's keeping skies clear for the rest of the country,
00:21really helping to chill out the south-east.
00:23Widespread frost is expected again tomorrow.
00:26In the west, a very different story.
00:27We've got heat, we've got some gusty winds and some high fire danger to keep an eye on.
00:31But for eastern Australia, well, the south-eastern corner is certainly feeling that chill, a taste of winter.
00:36But for New South Wales, we could be looking at 180 millimetres for some in the gauges through the next 24 hours.
00:43And then through the outlook, we've got days of that rain remaining essentially in place at this stage.
00:48It looks like we aren't going to see any significant relief until we get towards the weekend.
00:53I mean, there will be a bit of an easing of the heaviest falls, but wet weather will continue for parts of the east right through the week ahead.
01:00And that means we could be talking about hundreds of millimetres.
01:03Flood watch is current as a result.
01:05It is going to be a very wild week ahead.
01:08And tomorrow, more wet weather for Sydney.
01:10Brisbane as well.
01:11You'll see some showers.
01:12But all of the other capitals are staying fine.
01:14Bit of a chill still for the south-east to start, but the recovery is not too bad.
01:1816 in Canberra, Melbourne's warming up to 19, 17 in Hobart, Adelaide will get to 18.
01:23Perth's cooling off a touch, 23 your maximum, and up top Darwin's staying fine with a top of 31.
