00:00Students looking to further their studies should make a beeline for the Star Education Fair 2025 to explore numerous scholarships and courses offered by highly ranked public and foreign universities.
00:12The fair is being held at the IOI Grand Exhibition and Convention Center over the weekend.
00:18The visitors will also get to learn about new technologies and learning tools featured in the fair.
00:23Orcar Cognitive Solutions showcased a technique it developed to help students improve cognitive performance by up to 25%, strengthen emotional resilience, and support mental wellness.
00:36You go to university, the first time you're away from home, you're managing life on your own for the first time, and also you've got a lot of pressure.
00:44You've got to deliver things on time, big pieces of work, self-direction.
00:48So it's a lot of stress. So you need to be able to focus to actually get things done.
00:54What we've done is we've started from a gaming perspective and then used the inputs from your brain as part of a gaming experience.
01:03Because like all exercise, if you only do it once a month or intermittently, you don't actually get the benefits.
01:10But if you do it every day, then you build and you build and you build.
01:14What we are publicizing for the first time, we've just come out for the first time publicly with what we're doing.
01:21The Ebright Public Speaking Academy believes that students must create an environment that encourages them to speak English if they are to improve their language skills.
01:30In Ebright, we actually provide a platform for them to really speak.
01:33So by having a right environment, they will actually speak without fear.
01:36In order to help the students to overcome all this fear, we must really be very encouraging.
01:41Say for example, do not pester every single word that they use. Let them just flow naturally.
01:46So the first step is always let them speak in that language first.
01:50Then we try to fine-tune their grammar mistakes and that will really help them to boost their confidence and to speak in English.
01:55Amid a wide array of tertiary options, public universities stand out for their adaptability, accessibility, affordability and industry-relevant education.
02:04University Malaya, Vice-Chancellor Professor Datuk Shri Dr. Noor Azuan Abu Osman, said currently,
02:12Malaysia has about 1.1 to 1.2 million local students, with 600,000 to 650,000 attending 20 public universities, while the rest studying at private institutions.
02:27He said this trend is not due to a lack of quality in private institutions, but rather because of the advantages of public universities.
02:36The new generation of students, they can study easily using internet, using whatever software, whatever subjects, either it's open courseware, Coursera or whatever.
02:47In University of Malaya, out of 14 weeks, in one semester, we have 14 weeks.
02:52Three or four weeks out of 14 weeks must be taught by the industry professional.
02:57This is another beautiful thing.
03:00Organised by Star Media Group for the second time this year, the fair offers a range of tertiary study
03:06and technical and vocational education and training options, with some 70 exhibitors.
03:17Thank you very much for joining us.
