00:00The MyStarJob Fair 2025 is filled with visitors looking to fulfill their ambitions.
00:11The two-day career fair, which kicked off on Saturday at the Mid-Valley Convention Center in Kuala Lumpur,
00:17drew in hundreds of fresh graduates and job seekers, all determined to land the right job.
00:23Among them was 42-year-old Yusru Zaini Saeed, an oil and gas professional,
00:28who, despite modest expectations, was shortlisted after his first interview, leaving the fair with high hopes.
00:36So I'm just looking for new opportunities, management role in sustainability.
00:42I'm hoping to hear back from the hiring manager side, because she already took my CVs and already shortlisted,
00:52and waiting for their feedback and also for the next stage.
00:5826-year-old Jay Akshara, from Kuala Lumpur's automotive industry, attended the fair with her father, who was visiting from Muar,
01:08while 22-year-old fresh graduate Mason Ung, who recently graduated from University of Sydney,
01:15said the fair was a helpful step towards starting his career.
01:18I would suggest people to not only apply jobs through job, I mean like LinkedIn or something like that.
01:24Other than that, it's more better for you to actually come for career fairs, meet new people, explore what are you really into.
01:33It's not, you wouldn't be limiting your job opportunities.
01:37Word of mouth, people just ask me to come to take a look, so I'm just here to explore,
01:41and just see how the job opportunity market is in Malaysia right now.
01:45The exhibitors said the fair is an ideal platform to create better brand awareness.
01:51Manual Life is headquartered from Canada, right?
01:55So we are the top ten insurance companies in the world, top three biggest insurance companies in Asia as well.
02:02So we want to let the community know about who is Manual Life and we are serving the Malaysians.
02:11So we want to broaden our insurance advisors, a number of insurance advisors to serve the community in the whole nationwide.
02:20I think there are a mixture, some are fresh grads, some are in the working force for a few years time.
02:29But I think if you are at the crossroad that you do not know what you are looking for, right,
02:34you can come to our booth and to understand more about insurance advisory, yeah,
02:39that are able to broaden your mindset, broaden your way of looking about insurance.
02:48So our focus is basically on branding, letting the nation know that the talent know that who Lotus is all about,
02:57and also connecting with experienced higher and also fresh graduates here.
03:02Yeah, and I see there are a lot of skilled and experienced higher here.
03:07Particularly, we are hoping to hire as many people as we can for our programs.
03:12We have several programs, like our management associate programs, we have our protege programs,
03:17and we do have a lot of other vacancies for working adults as well.
03:21So, based on the masses, what we have done differently this year is that we have not taken any hard copy resumes.
03:28Everything is digitalised, so when we go back, we can use the system to best match them
03:34and get them into jobs as fast as possible if they qualify.
03:38Organised by Star Media Group, the fair features a total of 24 companies and agencies
03:43representing several industries and sectors.
03:46Star Media Group's senior manager, event and exhibition, Elaine Wong presented certificates to several event sponsors.
