Job seekers are making the most of the myStarJob Fair 2024 job-matching sessions to choose the right career path.
The job-matching sessions, which are being organised for the second time in the Klang Valley by myStar Job Fair, were fully utilised by both recruiters and job seekers at the IOI Grand Exhibition & Convention Centre on Saturday (May 4).

00:08The job-matching sessions, which are being organised for the second time in the Klang Valley by MyStar Job Fair,
00:14were fully utilised by both recruiters and jobseekers at the IOI Grand Exhibition and Convention Centre on Saturday.
00:24Among them was 25-year-old Iqlil Hawa Nordin, who is looking for a career change in the creative field after working in the medical field in the United Kingdom.
00:35So I just graduated with my Masters in Pharmacology from King's College,
00:40and I worked in the UK for about a year with the National Health Service as a biomedical scientist,
00:46but now I've decided to come back to Malaysia because I find London very stressful.
00:51I'm here at this job fair because I'm open to the jobs in Malaysia,
00:56and I want to do something that's more towards sales or something in the creative side,
01:03or I'm even open to graphic design, honestly.
01:07It was my first time actually participating in a job fair like this,
01:10and it was my first time being job-matched, and I think it's a really fun and interactive concept by STAR.

01:20The job-matching session provides a two-minute session between the recruiters and talents for pre-registered talents.

01:35said the session helped her to find out what recruiters are looking for in a candidate.

01:57Because we want to do an internship later in November, so we're here searching for internships.

02:30but I would really like to take this opportunity to look for maybe people with the charisma

03:11So rarely you'll get the customer walking in and straight away buying the product.
03:14So the talent I'm looking for is someone who can actually connect really with the customer,
03:20understand what the customer is looking for,
03:22the kind of space that the person wants to have, the design concept.
03:26I sense nowadays the talents also want to do the give back and connect with the community as well.
03:31And again, that's where also Feruni, we also have Yayasan Feruni.
03:35And yeah, so we're into all these kind of things.
03:38It's not just about the job, it's not just about making the money,
03:42but it's about the experience, the purpose and the give back.
03:45Alchemy Global Solutions recruiter Izath Izuddin is looking for candidates
03:50who are flexible in expanding their knowledge and skill sets.
03:53For the job matching session, Izath said that he is looking for candidates
03:58who can answer questions quickly, which showcases their skills in finding fast solutions.
04:04So we're just wanting to see what the new generation is looking for.
04:09So we decided to join the fair.
04:14So currently we're looking for more to marketing roles
04:17because we are a group that mainly our brain is that we are a very marketing centric company.
04:23So that is the role when it comes to designers, copywriters, CRM managers, social media, marketing managers.
04:30So more to marketing roles.
04:32When it comes to criterias, I think we're looking for diversity
04:35because I think in today's world, it's more about someone being able to do more than one thing
04:40or having interest more than one thing.
04:42So that's what we're looking for, diversity and flexibility.
04:45Meanwhile, local and international exhibitors such as Fujitech, Singapore Corporation Limited
04:51are looking to find new recruits with specialized skills to join their company at the fair,
04:56which will run until Sunday at the IOI Grand Exhibition and Convention Centre from 11am to 7pm.

05:10for any of the three sessions scheduled at 12.30pm, 2.30pm and 4.30pm while admission is free.
