00:00It is rivalry weekend in Major League Baseball.
00:03We'll explain all 15 sets that we have this weekend.
00:07Why exactly it is a rivalry.
00:09Our producer extraordinaire Joe Frizzo has had a lot of fun with these.
00:13He has given us the explanation for everything.
00:16Some fun, some just make a ton of common sense.
00:20And of course, in our three, we'll preview a few of the games that we have on this full slate Friday.
00:25We'll break down, though, exactly every series you can expect where you can bet on the result of a regular season series.
00:34That's not often the case on the FanDuel Sportsbook for about five or six of these spots over the weekend.
00:39A big one tonight up in the Bronx.
00:42It's the Yankees and the Mets.
00:44In fact, let me check on that.
00:46I don't think it is tonight, right?
00:47It's some day, but no, it is tonight.
00:497.06 p.m. Eastern Time.
00:51What a weekend.
00:52What a night.
00:53It is a New York sports inside Yankee Stadium.
00:57Yanks, Mets, Subway Series opener.
01:00Of course, about an hour later inside Madison Square Garden back in Manhattan.
01:05It's the New York Knicks and the Boston Celtics.
01:07A monumental night for New York sports.
01:10That one, DRS, Mets, Yankees, Subway Series.
01:13Cubs, White Sox at Wrigley with some day baseball on this Friday.
01:17Crosstown Classic.
01:19Rangers-Astros started yesterday in Arlington.
01:21The Silver Boots Series.
01:24The Dodgers and the Angels.
01:25That's at the Ravine.
01:27The Freeway Series.
01:28And the Battle for the Commonwealth.
01:30The Phillies and the Pirates.
01:31These two clubs first met back in 1887.
01:35All of those track as a rivalry series this weekend in Major League Baseball.
01:40No, they don't.
01:41I don't like manufacturers.
01:42There's like two rivalries in baseball, Ben.
01:44Like, wait.
01:45It's the Red Sox and the Yankees.
01:47And I think it's the Cardinals and the Cubs.
01:48Do we even have another rivalry?
01:50Like, the Rays-Marlins rivalry?
01:53You got to be getting athletics giants who back in the day used to play once every 50 years.
01:58I don't care.
01:59I need to get this off my chest right now at this point.
02:01So, when we're lining up, like, this was manufactured to be done on purpose because I didn't understand that baseball had a rivalry weekend.
02:07I felt like we were just doing that as some fun.
02:10So, baseball thought they were planning a rivalry weekend where none of these teams are actually rivals.
02:14Like, this sounds like the – what was the conflict cup?
02:17What was it?
02:18Yeah.
02:18Connecticut and, like, UCF.
02:20Like, hey, we got a rivalry.
02:21Like, we're not even rivals.
02:22Yeah, throw that trophy in the back of the basement at that point here.
02:25Is that what baseball is doing here?
02:26You have two true rivalries in baseball.
02:28Nobody else is a rival here.
02:30What are we – like, come on, baseball.
02:31What are we doing?
02:32Well, D.R.S., that's the thing with where divisions have stood.
02:35Now, 13 games against all four of your divisional opponents for a very long time in MLB, 19 games.
02:42So, of course, with the familiarity and the frequency, you build up those rivalries.
02:46But these are non-divisional rivalries for the most part with at least some sort of tie.
02:53Major League Baseball has been trying to build rivalry weekend a couple of times in the last few years, if I'm not mistaken, right?
02:59Like, this has been a thing.
03:00You know what the thing should be?
03:03Interleague Baseball.
03:04Get rid of it here.
03:05You want a rivalry here?
03:06Have them never play the American League so you hate the other league once again.
03:10Have the Phillies and the Mets play 47 times in the summer.
03:13I guarantee you there'll be 16 brawls and a lot of beanballs going on there at that point.
03:18That's how you get a rivalry.
03:19You know, you don't have a rivalry, Ben?
03:20Hey, Mets-Phillies play like four times a summer out of 162 games because we're going to play the Kansas City Royals more.
03:26How about that, baseball?
03:27Shut it down.
03:28No more interleague play.
03:29We don't need it anymore.
03:30We don't need it.
03:31Just have the true teams play each other on a...
03:34I want extra series with Mets and the Phillies, not extra series with the Angels.
03:39Stop it.
03:40This guy, the host of Pro Baseball today, just unloading off his chest right now.
03:46So I can only imagine when we go to our next five rivalry sets that we have this weekend, how DRS is going to feel.
03:53The Show Me State Showdown.
03:55That's in Missouri, the Kansas City Royals and the Cardinals, affectionately known as the I-70 Series.
04:01The Ohio Cup, Cincinnati and Cleveland.
04:04The Reds will host the Guardians this weekend.
04:06The Beltway Series in the DMV.
04:09The O's and the Nationals inside Camden Yards.
04:12How about that California classic, whether it's Oakland or Sacramento?
04:16The A's and the Giants up there in Northern California.
04:20Of course, they met in the 1989 World Series.
04:23How could you ever forget?
04:24The Fish and the Rays, both from Florida.
04:28Doesn't have a name, but that is the rivalry we have this weekend in Miami.
04:33The rivalry.
04:34I mean, all fan bases come together and there's two people in the ballpark.
04:37One for the Rays and one for the Marlins in that one.
04:39That's a heated rivalry at that point.
04:41And then also, like, the Athletics.
04:42I can't wait for that series to really heat up when the team moves to Vegas at that point.
04:47And they're separated from, you know, state to state at this point.
04:50Nobody's going to want to miss out on those series right now at this point.
04:52That's great.
04:53I'm actually enjoying this segment more than I thought I would.
04:56Yeah, come on.
04:56Now you're back.
04:57Yeah, there is no rivalries here.
04:59We're trying to make them up, and I'm trying to buy in and tear them down at the same time.
05:03Yeah, both.
05:03Why are these two rivals both from Florida?
05:06That's tremendous.
05:07Yeah.
05:08Okay, so just you wait, because Joe Frizo saved the best for last.
05:13The Mariners and the Padres will face off this weekend at Petco in San Diego.
05:18This is the explanation officially for Major League Baseball.
05:22This season marks the first ever official year of the Vetter Cup.
05:27An ode to Pearl Jam's Eddie Vetter.
05:29V-E-D-D-E-R.
05:31Eddie Vetter wants a resident of both Seattle and San Diego.
05:35The winner of the season series will earn a trophy featuring a guitar provided by Vetter himself.
05:43Fans will also have the opportunity to buy the Vetter Cup merchandise during the series with the Padres hosting a Vetter Cup series theme game on Saturday.
05:53The Vetter Cup, the first ever, the inaugural Vetter Cup starts this weekend in San Diego.
05:59The Padres and the Mariners, because Pearl Jam's front man once lived in both San Diego and Seattle.
06:07I mean, that's tremendous at that point.
06:09Like, do you at least get a concert after the game?
06:10Like, do you at least hear a little bit of this?
06:12Let me mic check here.
06:13Don't call me daughter.
06:15Not fair to me.
06:17Like, you know what I mean?
06:18Or, you know, some other things like down the list that we get at this point.
06:21Like, Eddie Vetter's been around the block a long time.
06:24But I'm not so sure we equate Eddie Vetter with San Diego and Seattle.
06:28We have to have an actual cup.
06:29The key part of that was if you win the guitar and then you get to smash the guitar like a rock star the minute you win it.
06:34So, I don't know.
06:35Maybe that's something that could certainly celebrate at that point.
06:37But the Vetter Cup, this shows you how far we're going down.
06:40Like, you know what I mean?
06:41You might as well have it sponsored by, like, Taco Bell.
06:42Like, get a free taco if your team wins the actual Vetter Cup at this point.
06:46Let's really go down that rabbit hole.
06:48The D-backs and the Rockies in Arizona, which is the Rocky Mountain Showdown.
06:54I don't think there's any Rocky Mountains in the state of Arizona.
06:56I could be incorrect.
06:58The Red Sox and the Braves both once hailed from Boston.
07:01The Brewers and the Twins.
07:02Oh, that's huge.
07:03First met in 1969 when the Brewers were the Seattle Pirates.
07:07Why are they not?
07:08Or Seattle Pilots, I should say.
07:10Why are they not involved in the Vetter Cup?
07:12The Blue Jays and the Tigers.
07:14Jeremy is kind of close.
07:21MLB Rivalry Weekend begins on this Friday.
07:24In fact, in one spot in Arlington between the Rangers and the Strohs, it began on a Thursday.
07:30Donnie's favorite weekend of baseball.
07:32You can hear from DRS during his favorite weekend, Rivalry Weekend, on Sunday morning,
07:3810 to noon Eastern Time on Pro Baseball today alongside Tom Vecchio.
07:44DRS, of course, one of the more key matchups this weekend, not just because of the notoriety
07:48in the natural rivalry that we have, but also how two great teams have started this year
07:54in MLB.
07:55It is the Subway Series this weekend up in the Bronx.
07:58Two divisional leaders facing off as well, the Yankees and the Mets.
08:04The Yanks atop the AL East, 25 and 18.
08:08The Mets atop the NL East, 28 and 16.
08:12And the opener today features Carlos Rodon and his pinstripes as a home Moneyline favorite
08:18at minus 138.
08:20Total stands at nine.
08:22DRS, tell us, how does the Subway Series begin this weekend?
08:26I think we're priced appropriately there, right around a minus 134 price at the FanDuel Sportsbook.
08:30Why is that?
08:30Both lineups look really good.
08:32Maybe a slight edge to the New York Mets lineup.
08:33But Carlos Rodon, the lefty on the mound, has been sensational, particularly over the past
08:3830 days.
08:38His last 122 batters that he's faced, how about a 123 ISO against and a 229 weighted on base
08:44percentage.
08:45A K rate, lefty on lefty, 40%.
08:48Lefty on righty, 30%.
08:51He's been nothing short of spectacular here, which equates to him at a 77 XFIP minus to
08:57go along with a 3.17 XFIP number.
09:00You take a look at Tyler McGill, who hasn't had a bad season at all.
09:02He's got an ERA very manageable at 310 and an XFIP minus number at 82.
09:07I would love to take this game over the total just the way because we play in a smaller ballpark.
09:11Weather conditions about 70 degrees at first pitch, more of a right foul pole to left foul
09:16pole wind.
09:16Not really going to help you out all that much, but I'm not sure, Ben.
09:20We get to 10 total runs in this game, even though, as I told you, I like the lineups.
09:24The pitchers have been pretty good.
09:26Rivalry type situation here in the city.
09:28I don't think we get to 10.
09:29I'll take the under, but also I'll have a lean towards the Yankees here at that minus
09:33134 price as well.
09:35Yeah, DRS, you know, it is really interesting, right?
09:38Because it is better weather this weekend along the East Coast, but you would expect a pretty
09:43good pitching duel tonight inside Yankee Stadium.
09:46Of course, a lot of foes might become friendlier as they look at what happens in Madison Square
09:53Garden down in the other borough of Manhattan starting at 8 p.m.
09:57Eastern time.
09:58First pitch scheduled in the Bronx at 7 p.m.
10:03Eastern, DRS, of our rivalry series that we have this weekend, I believe you can bet on
10:08six.
10:09Now, make that seven overall that you can pick the winner of these three-game sets this
10:15weekend.
10:16That includes this one between the Mets and the Yanks.
10:19Of course, the Yankees will have home field advantage.
10:21They are favored to win game number one, giving them the leg up.
10:25He's a minus 172 favorite to win this series.
10:28Is there any way that you would approach this betting market for the Subway Series this
10:33weekend?
10:34It's really hard.
10:35Pitching matchups.
10:35Who expends the bullpen starting lineup?
10:37So it's really hard to put like a futures market over a three-game set.
10:41But again, it should be competitive here.
10:42You're getting some pretty good pitchers on the mound.
10:44But understand this, too.
10:45Like you're looking at games like tonight.
10:46Like I just told you, like Rodon is a really good pitcher this year with a high K rate.
10:50But the Mets against left-handed pitching have done very well, which includes about a super
10:54low K rate.
10:55Something has to give, right?
10:56A guy that strikes out a lot of batters and a team that puts the baseball in play, you
10:59might be leaning towards, hey, that might be a Mets night.
11:01I just think the pitcher is better on the side tonight from the New York Yankees.
11:04But as a series price, that's pretty much up in the air at this point.
11:08It's almost like a doubleheader, right?
11:09You say, well, hey, who do you like in game number two of the doubleheader?
11:11Well, how do I know who's playing?
11:12And how did that game the day before actually turn out?
11:15Because, you know, the pressure gets ramped up.
11:17One game lost, two game lost, three game lost.
11:19That could be troublesome for either one of these franchises.
11:22And look at a couple of those odds at the bottom of that board as well.
11:27Aaron Judge, who ties the Major League Baseball lead with 15 dingers this year for him to hit
11:32at least one this weekend against the Amazons, minus 290.
11:35You think that's probably a pretty solid number.
11:38But how about Juan Soto, who has not been overly prolific with power outside of playing
11:43the Arizona Diamondbacks this year in his first year in Queens, makes his return to the Bronx
11:49for at least one home run, that short right field porch inside Yankee Stadium, an area
11:55he knows well, at minus 104.
11:58Donnie, what is the reception going to be for Juan Soto as he returns to face his former
12:03ball club from a year ago in the New York Yankees?
12:07Not all that kind.
12:08And that's one of the things when you switch teams, you understand the anticipation of when
12:12you do return to that market, which technically is still playing in New York, but to that ballpark,
12:16you are going to hear the scrutiny and rightfully so.
12:19We'll see what that crescendo is going to be, the roll calls, which typically will call
12:22out Juan Soto on a roll call when he played for the Yankees, now yelling at him with some
12:27cat calls instead.
12:29Oh, cat calls.
12:30Not a good thing to do in the streets of New York, but maybe tonight inside Yankee Stadium.
12:34The rest of rivalry weekend, including the inaugural Vetter Cup.
12:39Yeah, you heard that right.
12:40Next.
12:41Rivalry weekend all around Major League Baseball.
12:44And of course, one of our new favorites is for the first ever time, the Vetter Cup between
12:49the Padres and the Mariners.
12:51Yes, that is in reference to Eddie Vetter of Pearl Jam, who once lived in both Seattle
12:57and San Diego.
12:58I'm not even making it up.
13:00That is the exact explanation for why this is a rivalry weekend set between the M's and
13:05the Padres.
13:06It starts in San Diego with a best of three series between the Padres.
13:12DRS, they will play once again in late August up in the Pacific Northwest.
13:17And of course, the winner of the season series, not just this weekend, but all six matchups
13:21throughout this regular season, will win an actual trophy in honor of Eddie Vetter.
13:26That is a signed guitar from Pearl Jam's front man for the Vetter Cup.
13:31Here's what happens if the season series ends tied.
13:35Three games to San Diego, three games to Seattle.
13:39In the result of a tie in the season series between the clubs, the following tiebreakers
13:43will be used.
13:44Run differential.
13:45The team with a greater run differential in the season series.
13:48All right, that makes a lot of sense.
13:50That's tiebreaker number one.
13:52How about tiebreaker number two, known as EV, short for both exit velocity and Eddie Vetter.
13:59If the Cubs share, or if the clubs, excuse me, share an even run differential in the season
14:05series, the team with the highest exit velocity recorded on a hit in the series will win the
14:12Vetter Cup.
14:12Again, that's EV for the tiebreaker in honor of exit Velo and Eddie Vetter.
14:19How about this?
14:20Even flow.
14:23Thoughts arrive like butterflies.
14:26Like, why don't you sing this?
14:27So I could be the Eddie Vetter Cup here.
14:29You know what I mean?
14:29What a great tribute band that me could be with Pearl Jam.
14:33What do you got?
14:34DRS, I'm surprised you're a Pearl Jam guy.
14:38All that I know about your music taste.
14:40Gago, please.
14:40I'll sit back.
14:41All right.
14:42Now, see, now you're bringing up some things that have to do with DRS and the household.
14:46I don't like Pearl Jam.
14:48The wife likes Pearl Jam.
14:49We get in the car and Pearl Jam is on.
14:51I mock Pearl Jam and try to change the channel knowing the wife wants to listen to said tunes
14:56from Pearl Jam.
14:57So there you go.
14:58So the only reason why I sing and know it is because I love Pearl Jam and I'm forced
15:01to listen to Pearl Jam.
15:03So that's why I know so much about it.
15:04I'm not big on the grunge scene.
15:06Like me growing up, I was a 1990s hip hop kid.
15:08Like I wasn't like, you know, Pearl Jam.
15:11I wasn't, you know, Soundgarden.
15:13And, you know, what's it?
15:14Kurt Cobain's.
15:15What was that one again?
15:16Who's Kurt Cobain's voice out there?
15:18Nirvana.
15:18There you go.
15:18Slipped my mind.
15:19That wasn't me.
15:20That wasn't my scene.
15:21Wasn't my scene.
15:21So there you go.
15:22Can you imagine if like Eddie Vedder, you had either ever lived in San Diego or Seattle?
15:28Maybe Pearl Jam would be your favorite band.
15:30We'll never know.
15:31You know, I love our little bits that we come up with on the early line.
15:35Like, for instance, as you wait, Doug Christie is our guy.
15:39We're huge Sacramento Kings fan.
15:41We think he is the best and most promising head coach in the NBA.
15:44Now the permanent head coach in California's capital.
15:47As I was reading off the Vedder Cup and the explanation for the rivalry earlier on in our second hour, it does say there is Vedder Cup merch available for purchase.
15:57Like, do you think we can get MLB to send us some Vedder Cup merchandise?
16:04In fact, in the break, I'm going to have to look up some Vedder Cup merchandise.
16:07Now, by the way, can I ask you a question on this?
16:09Like, isn't Eddie Vedder a monster Cubs fan, though?
16:12And this is the Vedder Cup?
16:13Like, what is this?
16:15Hold on a second.
16:16I think he is.
16:18I've seen him sing.
16:19I remember Pearl Jam doing a show in Chicago, and he was all, like, Chicago'd up in jerseys.
16:25That's so great to be here.
16:26It's my team.
16:26But the Vedder Cup is elsewhere?
16:28That's odd.
16:30Wow.
16:31DRS, he is a well-known and devoted fan of the Cubs.
16:35Yeah.
16:36Vedder has even thrown out the first pitch at Wrigley and performed the seventh inning stretch during Cubs games.
16:44Man.
16:45I mean, maybe we remand the White Sox in the Cubs in the Crosstown Classic to the Vedder Cup.
16:52Correct.
16:52Or maybe the Pope Leo the 14th Cup for his true fandom as well.
16:57Oh, Eddie and the Pope.
16:58Come on.
16:59It's a great rivalry.
17:00I don't know.
17:01Wait, hold on.
17:03Eddie Vedder and the Pope have a rivalry?
17:05Yeah.
17:06Exactly.
17:06It could be a great band, too.
17:07Eddie and the Pope.
17:08I mean, getting down to business out there.
17:10That is a really good band.
17:11The homilies will be popping.
17:14Yeah, no doubt.
17:16Yeah.
17:17This guy can do it all.
17:19We've seen DRS rap.
17:20We've seen him break out some Pearl Jam.
17:22Now a little bit of some Friday faith here on the early line.
17:26All right.
17:27Let's get to actual handicapping of baseball games, of which DRS is also very good at as well.
17:33The opener of the inaugural Vedder Cup tonight in Petco Park in San Diego.
17:38The Padres, a minus 154 favorite at home, over under eight and a half.
17:43Who takes this historic game, DRS, in MLB history?
17:47Yeah, there's probably a reason why we have the favorite there at minus 154.
17:50The Mariners are a pretty good ball club.
17:52But understand this.
17:52Logan Evans expected to be on the mound for the Mariners.
17:55He has struggled against right-handed batters this season.
17:57Now, granted, only 68 total batters he's faced, 37 from the right-hand side.
18:01But a 206 ISO and a 420 weighted on base percentage with a K rate of only 13%.
18:07You look at the lineup tonight for the Padres against right-handed pitching over the past 30 days.
18:11They've been tattooing the baseball.
18:13Tatis, 394 weighted on base percentage.
18:15Arise, 362.
18:17Machado, 366.
18:18Merrill, 413.
18:19Gavin Sheets, 363.
18:21And Jake Cronenworth, 464.
18:23The advantages there are to their side specifically, up against that pitcher.
18:27But Kolek, also, only 52 batters faced this year, Ben.
18:31But he's been really good.
18:32An 021 ISO and a weighted on base percentage of 214 against.
18:36I do like that Seattle lineup.
18:38But if I'm looking at this game itself, I'm just trusting the home team just a bit more than the road team.
18:43But that 8 1⁄2, I don't know how long Kolek's going to pitch for, how well he can do,
18:47specifically, as I just said, only 52 batters this year.
18:50Maybe an over to the 9, but I do lean home team.
18:53Padres get the job done tonight.
18:54D.R.S., I had to check that, because Kolek is not necessarily the most common last name.
19:00Stephen Kolek is the younger brother of Knicks star and former Marquette superstar Tyler Kolek.
19:08Wow.
19:09Anyway, good day.
19:10Good day in the Kolek household, potentially.
19:11We are right.
19:12San Diego wins the first ever game in the first ever Vetter Cup.
19:16And Tyler Kolek and his Knicks do winning game number six tonight.
19:19Although, I don't think if the Knicks even win, we're going to see Kolek on the floor for the New York Knicks.
19:25I-70 series.
19:26What was that?
19:27What?
19:28Let it rip out there.
19:29By the way, the Eddie Vetter Cup, you should get a Cubs trophy or a W flag if you win that,
19:34even though it's nothing to do with Seattle or San Diego.
19:36That's what you should get.
19:37The W win?
19:38Yeah.
19:38I'm a Cubs fan.
19:39Play into it.
19:39All right.
19:40Heck yeah.
19:41All right.
19:41Vetter Cup to the I-70 series.
19:43The Show Me State Showdown, I think, is a better name.
19:47Kansas City and St. Louis in the state of Missouri.
19:50This one in KC this weekend inside Kauffman Stadium.
19:54And we've got Cole Reagans getting the start for KC tonight just because of it.
19:58And at home, the Royals DRS, a pretty hefty favorite.
20:02That line now minus 146 in favor of KC.
20:06How about this?
20:0618-mile-an-hour wind sort of blowing out the right field.
20:09So if you're a left-handed batter, get it up in that jet stream.
20:11You might get a home run.
20:12By the way, 77-degree temperatures as well.
20:14So we're not at that 48-degree temperatures with the wind blowing.
20:17Should be a pleasant night here as we watch this one.
20:19But Palante, as I told you, early in the season, very good pitcher.
20:23Starting to struggle as of late.
20:24Last 119 batters over the past 30 days, Ben.
20:27A 209 ISO and a weighted-on-base percentage of 383.
20:31Right-handed batters, if we just take the microscope there.
20:3360 batters he's faced over the past month from the right side.
20:36A 283 ISO and a 432 weighted-on-base percentage.
20:40He's not a big K pitcher.
20:41Also understand this.
20:43You look at that Royals lineup today, going up against right-handed pitching over the past month.
20:47Everybody in that expected starting nine, Ben, super low K rates.
20:51So a pitcher that does not strike guys out.
20:53A battering group of guys from nine batters in that group.
20:58They don't strike out either.
20:59The ball's going to be in play with windy conditions.
21:01You see that eight and a half and it makes sense.
21:03But maybe it makes only sense from a team total perspective for Kansas City.
21:06Because the best pitcher on the card today, analytically, it's actually Cole Reagans.
21:11He's got a 420 ERA, which isn't great.
21:13But how about his XFIP?
21:142.25.
21:15How about his XFIP minus?
21:1754.
21:18Winning today are the Kansas City Royals.
21:20But also, maybe a team total for the Kansas City Royals as well against my guy, Andre Pallante.
21:26Of course, the Red Hot Redbirds had their nine-game win streak snapped by Donnie's Phillies in the opener of a doubleheader on Wednesday.
21:34But they did win the second game, I think, scoring 14 runs against the Phillies.
21:39So St. Louis is playing really good baseball.
21:41Yeah.
21:42Yeah.
21:42Aaron Ola got wrecked in that game.
21:44St. Louis has still won 10 of their last 11.
21:47The Royals were on an absolute heater and now have dropped four of their last five, losing their last two series against the Red Sox and the Astros.
21:55A little bit more MLB and then to Game 6 tonight.
21:59Up next.
22:00One final game to break down on this full Friday slate that begins Major League Baseball Rivalry Weekend.
22:06Two teams that used to both play in Boston, one that still does, and the other now in Atlanta.
22:12A guy that used to play in Boston against his former team.
22:15The Aces in place for the Friday opener between the Red Sox and the Braves inside Fenway Park.
22:22Garrett Crochet gets the nod for Boston.
22:24And Chris Sale on the other side for Atlanta.
22:28Eight cents of difference.
22:29Now in the money line price with the Sox, a slight home favorite.
22:33And the total stands at eight.
22:35Crochet versus Sale.
22:37Red Sox versus Braves.
22:39DRS, what do you like?
22:41It's a shame we don't have two tomato cans on the mound today because you'd love an over in Boston.
22:4572 degrees, wind blowing out towards the green monster tonight.
22:47That typically says runs, but these pitchers say no runs here.
22:52You take a look at Garrett Crochet's 76 XFIT minus, which includes a 1.93 ERA.
22:57And then you take a look at Chris Sale, whose ERA is a little bit higher, but he's got a 79 XFIT minus.
23:02Once again, XFIT minus.
23:03You want to be as a pitcher 100 or less.
23:06Both of these pitchers certainly above average this season based on those statistics here.
23:10You take a look at the left hand on the mound, Garrett Crochet.
23:12His numbers have been fantastic.
23:14Full year, 30 days.
23:16Take your pick.
23:16He's been dominant.
23:17And take a look at the Atlanta Braves lineup outside of Sean Murphy.
23:20The catcher has been terrible against left-handed pitching.
23:24You flip it over to the other side here with the Boston Red Sox.
23:27Much better against lefties than the Atlanta Braves, particularly over the past 30 days.
23:30But again, it is Chris Sale on the mound.
23:33I don't think we're going over that total.
23:35I go under that number, but also with a lean towards the Boston Red Sox winning this game.
23:40Better lineup against lefties here to think Crochet is going to hold the bats down for the Atlanta Braves.
