00:01So here's to your good health. To your average Dubliner, every pub is a landmark. We navigate
00:07our city by its pubs. You see, the Dublin pub is unique. It's at the very heart of the
00:13community. It's the hub of all our social, cultural and leisure activities. It's where
00:18we go to meet old friends, or make new ones, or just to get away from it all and enjoy
00:22the entertainment and what we call the crack. Today, not only do we export Guinness, Irish
00:29whisky and liqueurs all over the world, but we also export our pubs. And if you were
00:34to drop into your local Irish pub tonight, anywhere from Parliament Street to Piquet,
00:39the chances are, you'd hear this.
00:41As the light declines, I'll remember Dublin city, in the rare old times. My name, it's
00:55a shunt and sea, as Dublin as could be.

01:07We have ourselves and two cats to feed. Thank you so much.
01:12My trade, I was a cooper, lost out to redundancy. Like my house that fell to progress, my trade's a memory.
01:31I courted Peggy Diagonum, as pretty as you please. A rogue and child of Mary, from the Rebel Liberties.
01:49I lost her to the stewed shop, with skin as dry as coal. When he took her off to Birmingham, she took away my soul.
02:08Ring-a-ring-a-rosy, as the light declines. I remember Dublin city, in the rare old times.
02:25Well, the years have made me bitter, should the gargoyles dim me brain.
02:35Cause Dublin keeps on changing, and nothing seems the same.
02:44The pillar and the nets have gone, and the rile of sins fall down.
02:53As the crayon yielding concrete makes, a city of my town.
03:01Today, we welcome our friends from many lands, and we welcome home the children of our immigrant generations.
03:06As we say in Dublin, may the road rise to meet you, may your journey be sweet, and may God hold you in the palm of his hand until we meet again.
03:16My mind's too full of memories, too old to hear a new child.
03:31I'm a part of what was Dublin, in the rare old times.

04:32I first set my eyes on sweet Molly Malone.
04:39As she wheeled her wheel and barrow, to streets wide and narrow.
