00:00Well, thank you Mr. Speaker. This week the President travels to the Middle East on an
00:05important trip. It's a moment of great opportunity but also serious risk. As the
00:11U.S. pursues deeper partnerships across the Gulf, we must remember that American
00:16leadership cannot rest off on one-off deals or delusions of grand bargains.
00:20Our ambitions cannot outpace reality. Most importantly, Iran lurks in the
00:26background of every conversation. Tehran is itching to play spoiler. Its nuclear
00:32ambitions and proxy networks remain the chief threat to regional stability. Yet
00:36we have a rare moment of leverage. Iran's economy is in shambles, its proxies are
00:41degraded, and its air defenses have been exposed. That's why I introduced a
00:46resolution reaffirming that preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons is a
00:52non-negotiable American priority. It reinforces deterrence, clarifies
00:57expectations, and ensures congressional oversight, especially regarding any use
01:03of force. We must not miss this moment. Iran continues to be a serious threat in
01:10the main detriment to peace in the Middle East.
