Karnataka to set up “Anti-communal force” within police department to ensure ‘peace’ in society

Bengaluru (Karnataka), May 14, 2025 (ANI):  Karnataka state government will set up anti-communal force within the police department to ensure peace in the society. Speaking in the decision, Home Minister G Parameshwara said “We have taken a decision to constitute an Anti-Communal Force, within the police department. When the naxal activity was there, we created an Anti-Naxal Force. Similarly, we want to make an Anti-Communal Force to see that the society is peaceful. The polarisation is already taking place here and there. We want to see that all those things will be put at rest”.

00:08We have created earlier when the Nuxal activity was there, we created an anti-Nuxal force.

00:15On the same lines, we want to create an anti-communal force just to see that the society is peaceful.

00:33A proposal, I had told our Director General of Police to send out a proposal regarding that.

00:40And I was told that they have sent the proposal.

00:44We at the government level will examine it and approve.

00:48Once it is approved and put it in place, then, you know, initially I have announced for two districts.

00:55Now we may extend it to, you know, any districts where there is a communal issues.
