00:00Jasmine loved being at the Playboy Mansion, and she had the perfect body, perfect smile,
00:08long blonde hair, just your perfect Playboy model.
00:11Hi, I'm Jasmine, and today we're at C-level.
00:14To be a playmate, it's a ticket to the highlight.
00:17Jasmine saw that.
00:19You know, the world was pretty much her oyster just waiting for her to crack it open.
00:24Men want to date a Playboy model, but they're also simultaneously very, very jealous.
00:30They didn't love each other.
00:33He didn't even like her, and she didn't like him.
00:37She sends a text, send a plane for me, come get me.
00:41I'm just like, what?
00:43I had to double take when I found out that she had been married before.
00:48I was just like, no.
00:50No one who loved a human being would do this.
00:54You always think, my God, what could I have done?
01:00I'll dispense and I'll receive the call.
01:17There was an individual who was out looking for cans early in the morning.
01:20And he came across this suitcase in a dumpster.
01:26It was unzipped, and he believed there was a child in the suitcase.
01:32We arrived on scene, and I realized immediately it was not a small child.
01:37It was a small female.
01:39The adult female was nude, but you couldn't really see her face because of the way the
01:48body was positioned inside a suitcase.
01:50I started looking at all the fingers.
01:53I realized they were all missing.
01:55Thumbs, fingers.
01:56And I looked at the coroner and said, her teeth are going to be missing, too.
02:05Immediately, that's when I went, oh, my God, who would have done this?
02:11The cartel was a possibility.
02:13This is Southern California.
02:14We're a couple of miles from the border.
02:16This was in a gang area.
02:18The cartels used the gangs.
02:20She could have been a snitch.
02:21You know, it could have been a serial killer.
02:23She went to the Ontario County Coroner's office for an autopsy.
02:29We need to start trying to identify this female who can't do prints.
02:33Her face was too badly beaten to really try to make a positive identification in any way.
02:39But we had a sketch artist come in.
02:41And we put the sketch in the media to see if anybody could recognize her.
02:47The killer thought that they had done everything they needed to do.
02:53To conceal the death and or the identity of the person they killed.
02:58But they forgot one item.
03:01During the autopsy, they removed her breast implants.
03:05Every prosthetic, including breast implants, have serial numbers on them.
03:10Her name was Jasmine Field.
03:13Jasmine was 28 years old.
03:15We learned that she was a former Playboy model.
03:20I'm Jasmine.
03:21Have a good time.
03:23I was watching TV and it came up on the news.
03:26And they showed her picture.
03:29And my jaw dropped.
03:32It was Jasmine.
03:33It was our Jasmine.
03:35We were stunned.
03:36How could this happen?
03:38Who could do something like this?
03:40How could any human being do something like this?
03:43It just blew me away.
03:45Like, I just talked to her.
03:46Like, it's one of those things when people say, oh, they died.
03:49No, I just talked to her.
03:50They could be dead.
03:52But she was.
03:53When I heard that a Playboy party hostess had been murdered and dismembered, that's all
04:03I needed to jump on this story.
04:13I only knew about Jasmine in hindsight, but my friend Stacy knew her pretty well.
04:19Jasmine came to our Fun in the Sun parties at the Playboy Mansion, and that's where I met
04:25her.
04:26I used to date Hugh Hefner as one of his girlfriends, and I lived at the mansion.
04:31When I was a girlfriend, Holly Madison was the main girlfriend, and it was fun.
04:36Stacy Burke is a close friend of mine.
04:39She'd been going to mansion parties for a long time, and even after she stopped dating,
04:43Hef kept coming up there as a friend.
04:46Playmates, girlfriends, or some girls.
04:49The girls that Hef found attractive that were allowed to come to Fun in the Sun would
04:53come around in their bikinis, and we would just have a pool party.
05:00The women who would be invited to the Fun in the Sun parties had to fit a certain beauty
05:03standard.
05:04Hef looked over Polaroids of women to see if he thought they were, you know, measuring
05:09up to be a pool party girl.
05:12Jasmine loved me at the Playboy Mansion.
05:15She fit right in.
05:16She was tan, she was blonde, big boobs, perfect Playboy type.
05:22The camera loved her.
05:24She wanted the world, and she went after it.
05:27You would think she'd be stuck up, but she was not.
05:31She was very sweet, very soft-spoken, and very nice and courteous.
05:35In the mid-2000s, Playboy was definitely more than just a magazine.
05:41It was seen as a lifestyle, a brand of parties.
05:45The Playboy golf tournaments were kind of like a regular golf tournament, but more fun.
05:50There were tons of women hired to work the events.
05:52They would call the Playboy Girls of Golf.
05:54Our Girls of Playboy Golf were the hostesses of the event.
05:58And Jasmine became one of our Girls of Playboy Golf in 2004.
06:03We usually had about 35 events across the United States with several thousand golfers and really
06:10thousands of girls.
06:11And the girls were fantastic.
06:13And people could actually get a taste of half's life.
06:17When we went on the golf course, we weren't quiet on the course.
06:23We had DJs.
06:24We had games and fun.
06:27And there are some guys that never took their golf clubs out of their cart.
06:31Just like at every hole, there was like a booth where women were handing out shots.
06:37Jasmine definitely knew that, you know, she was a very beautiful girl, but she had a smile, right?
06:41And so with that smile, she could charm you.
06:46And if she's having a great time, all our clients are having a great time.
06:50Everybody's having fun.
06:52After about a year of actually being one of the Girls of Playboy Golf hostesses,
06:56we asked her if she would like to help coordinate the Girls of Playboy Golf for our events in Las Vegas in L.A.
07:02And she jumped right on that.
07:04Jasmine Fiore was brought up outside of Santa Cruz, California, in a small town called Monte Dune.
07:18She was an only child, but she wasn't a silver spoon kid or a trust fund kid by any stretch of the imagination.
07:27Her father left her mother when she was nine years old, leaving her mother limited resources to raise her alone.
07:37And she was somewhat of a tomboy.
07:40She went on a race car expedition across the country.
07:44She rode horses with the best of the cowboys.
07:47She was one ambitious, fun-loving young woman.
07:53But she had her sights set far outside of Bonnie Dune.
07:58By 2006, she was splitting her time between Vegas and L.A.
08:04And once she was entrenched enough and savvy enough in the modeling business,
08:09you know, the world was pretty much her oyster just waiting for her to crack it open.
08:17Jasmine is probably the type of woman who was told, you know,
08:21since she was an adult, you look like you should be in Playboy.
08:24And I think Jasmine, like a lot of other women, probably saw working the parties.
08:28They were working as a girl of golf as a stepping stone to something bigger,
08:32like a pictorial in the magazine.
08:34To be a playmate, it's a ticket to the highlight.
08:37But Jasmine saw that all of a sudden, things happen.
08:41You meet people.
08:42You're doing things that you never would do if you were from a small town.
08:45All of a sudden, you're getting invited to places.
08:48You're going out at nightclubs.
08:50Places that you'd have to wait in line, you walk right in.
08:54Jasmine had the typical California girl look.
08:57She was tall with a beautiful body.
08:59Usually that was the type of look that Heff really liked for the centerfolds.
09:02But Jasmine understood that, you know, a centerfold, it's rare.
09:08It's 12 a year.
09:10And that's it.
09:13Nonetheless, she still had ambitions to become a Playboy centerfold
09:18and did submit portfolios of photos.
09:22When Jasmine was auditioning to be a Playmate in the early 2000s,
09:25it was a very competitive time.
09:28There were so many women, thousands and thousands a month,
09:31submitting photos to be a centerfold.
09:33And even if Jasmine didn't make it as a centerfold,
09:36there were still a lot of doors open for her within the Playboy world.
09:39And somebody that they may want to be a brand spokesperson,
09:43yeah, she had all those attributes and traits,
09:45and that possibility was always there.
09:52When Jasmine became one of our coordinators at Playboy Golf,
09:56she'd heard me make this speech before.
09:59Hey, you're going to meet a lot of people.
10:01You have to be careful.
10:02You have to be able to understand that, you know,
10:07not everybody is who they say they are.
10:10When you're in the safety of our Playboy party,
10:12we can ensure that you can have the best of times and still be safe.
10:18But if you decide to venture out,
10:20we can't stop you from doing that,
10:22but we can't control what happens.
10:26You can't trust everybody.
10:28You can't.
10:32Your question was about mutilation.
10:39Yes, the fingers and teeth were removed.
10:48As soon as the colonel's office gave us the name of Jasmine Field,
10:53we ran in our systems to see if she was reported missing,
10:56and that's when we found out she had actually been reported missing.
10:59On the Saturday that we found her body.
11:05At that point,
11:07LAP contacts us,
11:08and we learn that she's married to Ryan Jenkins.
11:11According to the missing person's report that Ryan Jenkins filed,
11:15he made comments to them like,
11:17she's been missing since August 14th, the day before we found the body.
11:22As soon as we know about Ryan Jenkins,
11:24and that he is the person who reported Jasmine Fury missing,
11:28we are frantically trying to get a hold of him.
11:31We get his phone number off the report,
11:33so we know it's his phone,
11:34and we are calling and calling,
11:35and he's just not picking up the phone for us.
11:40When you're looking at a homicide,
11:43you're always going to look at the husband.
11:44Doesn't mean it's the husband,
11:46but we got to talk to him.
11:47We got to eliminate him,
11:49just like we eliminate everyone else.
11:51The missing persons detective with the LAPD
11:54actually got a hold of Jenkins
11:55and told them,
11:58yeah, I reported on missing,
12:00but I got to get back to Canada
12:01because I have visa issues.
12:04I thought it was pretty strange
12:05that he reports his wife missing,
12:08and now he's leaving because of visa issues.
12:11We dug it a little deeper,
12:13and we learned that he was in a reality TV show,
12:17Megan Wants a Millionaire.
12:20This was months before the murder of Jasmine Fury.
12:22The star of the show was Megan Hausman,
12:26a former Playboy model.
12:29In 2005, I got discovered by Playboy,
12:33and they made me a cyber girl.
12:35If you're a Playmate,
12:36you're featured as a centerfold in the magazine.
12:38If you're a cyber girl,
12:39you're featured on their website.
12:41Playboy at that time
12:42had all different kinds of products
12:44that they were trying to promote,
12:45so I did runway shows with their clothing line.
12:49They had a Playboy concierge service,
12:51so they would fly me to different nightclubs.
12:54And you got to be on the permanent list
12:55to the Playboy mansion parties,
12:57which was like a golden ticket.
13:00I love the Playboy world.
13:01I couldn't get enough of it.
13:05But in 2007,
13:07I just got too busy with reality TV
13:09to continue with Playboy.
13:11Hi!
13:11Hi, Megan. How's it going?
13:12So the concept of Megan Wants a Millionaire
13:14was that I was single.
13:16I was looking to be in a relationship.
13:20I would prefer that person
13:21to have a lot of money
13:22and also be single
13:25and for us to live happily ever after.
13:28The 17 bachelors
13:29had to have a minimum
13:31of a net worth of $1 million.
13:34Oh, my God!
13:35And the casting agents
13:37held casting parties
13:38at different nightclubs
13:39and interviewed men
13:40to be on the show.
13:4214 of you are pre-approved.
13:44Three of you will be declined.
13:47Ryan Jenkins lived in Calgary.
13:49It's a big, rich, wealthy oil town
13:52in the provinces in Canada.
13:56And he definitely had dreams of stardom,
13:59whatever it may be
14:00or whatever it took.
14:03I met Ryan Jenkins
14:04on the first episode.
14:06Hello, Megan.
14:07I remember he was wearing purple shirt
14:09and I had a purple dress on
14:11and my dog had a purple bow
14:13on her neck.
14:15So we all matched.
14:17And I liked him
14:18from the very beginning.
14:20Ryan would spend his time
14:22writing love letters to me.
14:24Hey, baby.
14:25I just wanted to tell you
14:26that I'm having a great time
14:28on this show
14:28and it's all because of you.
14:31I always feel a connection with you
14:32regardless of what we are doing
14:34as if you and I
14:35were the only ones in the room.
14:38I can't wait to have you
14:39all to myself
14:40as I truly feel
14:42that a life together with you
14:43would be amazing.
14:45Your boy, Ryan.
14:48We had a real relationship happening,
14:50but we had to keep it secret.
14:52This is an elimination contest show
14:57called Megan Wants a Millionaire.
14:59You know,
15:00you pretty much have to be
15:01a millionaire, don't you?
15:03So he told the casting director
15:06and it went all the way up
15:07the chain in production
15:08that he was worth
15:10two and a half million dollars.
15:13Ryan claimed to be a millionaire,
15:15but it became obvious
15:17that he really didn't have much money.
15:20Ryan's father's
15:21a real estate developer
15:23as property in Canada
15:24and he's actually
15:26the millionaire in the family.
15:27Ryan's not a millionaire.
15:29His father was a millionaire.
15:31But I didn't care.
15:32I really liked him.
15:34When we were down
15:35to the last three contestants,
15:37I told the producer
15:39that I wanted to pick Ryan
15:41and she said
15:42that that was not
15:43what they had planned.
15:45And that was the first time
15:47that I was made aware
15:49that
15:50the decision wasn't up to me.
15:55I had no time
15:57to tell him
15:58that I was going
15:59to eliminate him.
15:59Plus, I could not have
16:01jeopardized the show
16:02and told him
16:03before the elimination ceremony.
16:06Hi, Ryan.
16:08Ryan was standing
16:09in front of me
16:10with the other two contestants,
16:12the final three,
16:13and I was shaking.
16:19A connection that...
16:20I had a microphone
16:21in my ear
16:21and I was just repeating
16:23what they were telling me
16:24to say
16:25and I had to tell him
16:27he was eliminated.
16:30And he was just
16:31shaking his head
16:33and saying, like,
16:34no, that's not true.
16:37A lot of times,
16:38reality shows
16:39don't have a lot of regard
16:40for the people involved
16:41because they want
16:42to get the story.
16:43That's the first priority.
16:44They want a TV show
16:46that's going to grab eyes
16:47and that everybody's
16:47going to watch.
16:48So they're going to get
16:49the content they want.
16:50They're going to edit it
16:51the way they want.
16:52You know,
16:52they're going to make you
16:54say what they want you
16:54to say, basically.
16:55So, after the elimination ceremony,
17:04he got back to his hotel
17:06and he started calling me
17:08over and over and over again.
17:12And, I mean,
17:13I was getting ready
17:14to fly to Mexico
17:16to film the finale
17:17and I had the producers with me.
17:20I could not talk to him
17:21on the phone.
17:23And then I was planning
17:24on calling him
17:25and explaining everything
17:26to him,
17:27smoothing it all over
17:28and we could just go on
17:29with our happy plans.
17:32And two days later,
17:34he called me
17:36and before I got to explain
17:38to him what happened,
17:39he said,
17:42I have met the love of my life
17:44and I'm married.
17:46I really could not believe it
17:48because just two days
17:49before that,
17:50he told me he was going
17:50to marry me
17:51and I was the love of his life.
17:52Well, to say it was
17:56a whirlwind romance
17:58would be an understatement.
18:01Ryan told me that
18:03he met her in a nightclub
18:05in Vegas.
18:06He asked her for her phone number.
18:09She put her phone number
18:11in his phone
18:11and under the contact,
18:13she put her birthday.
18:14When he looked at the phone,
18:15he saw that
18:16it was also his birthday.
18:19They shared the same birthday
18:20and he thought
18:21that that was a sign
18:22that she was the one
18:24and he had to marry her.
18:27And that made Jasmine
18:29believe that they were
18:30meant to be.
18:31So they met on March 16th
18:34and two days later,
18:36March 18th, 2009,
18:38they're married
18:39at the Little White Chapel
18:40in Las Vegas.
18:44Ryan thought that
18:47if he couldn't be married
18:48to me,
18:49he would find another
18:49Playboy model
18:50to be married to.
18:52I think a lot of men,
18:54particularly Ryan in this case,
18:55want to date
18:56a Playboy model
18:57or to have
18:58that kind of trophy
18:59on his arm
19:00to get a lot of attention
19:01or reflect that attention
19:02back on them.
19:04He presented himself
19:06as a very wealthy millionaire
19:08that was going to be starring
19:10in a TV show
19:11that was going to
19:12make him famous.
19:14She presented herself
19:16as a big model,
19:18you know,
19:19Playboy.
19:20And they had the idea
19:21that they were going to be
19:22this showbiz couple
19:23in Vegas.
19:25They seemed like
19:26a glamorous power couple,
19:27but it was all a facade.
19:31They kind of got married
19:33really quick
19:33without knowing each other
19:35that well.
19:37and having some problems
19:38and she just didn't know
19:41how to handle it.
19:42It's starting to look
19:43to Jasmine that,
19:45oof,
19:46she threw it in
19:47for the wrong guy.
19:48This guy doesn't
19:49have any money.
19:51He kept promising
19:52that he'd have money
19:53and be able
19:54to take care of them,
19:55but he couldn't get
19:56his money into the country
19:57from Canada.
19:59She worked hard
20:00for her money
20:00and he was dipping
20:02into it
20:02and she resented that.
20:04he's not the guy
20:05he told her he was.
20:06A couple weeks later,
20:17Ryan actually sent me
20:18this message
20:19from Vegas.
20:20I got caught up
20:22after the show
20:24and made a hasty decision
20:25with a girl,
20:26as you know,
20:27but it's very obvious
20:28I am not with
20:29my soulmate here.
20:31If you'd like to see
20:33if there could be
20:34still something,
20:35we should talk.
20:35I just had a soft spot
20:39for him
20:39and I felt like
20:40even if we weren't
20:41going to have
20:42a relationship,
20:43I cared about him
20:44and I wanted
20:45to help him.
20:54Ryan was our person
20:55of interest,
20:56but we also had
20:57to look at others.
20:58We wanted to speak
20:59with anyone
21:00that had any contact
21:01with Jasmine,
21:02specifically,
21:03you know,
21:04days before her murder.
21:06Came back
21:06from the colonel's office
21:07that DNA was present
21:09on Jasmine Fio's body.
21:13When they did
21:13the rape kit,
21:14they found semen.
21:15Guess what?
21:16DNA's in the system.
21:18Michael Cardozi
21:19is a prolly
21:21who had just been
21:21released from prison.
21:24And he was
21:25a former husband
21:26of Jasmine.
21:27I'm just like,
21:28what?
21:29I had to double take
21:31when I found out
21:32that she had been
21:33married before.
21:34And we learned
21:35that she had been
21:36with him
21:37days before
21:38being murdered.
21:44On Tuesday,
21:46August 11, 2009,
21:48four days before
21:49her body was found,
21:51Jasmine went down
21:52to San Diego
21:53to greet
21:55Michael Cardozi
21:56as he was being
21:57released from prison.
21:59After serving a lengthy
22:00stretch for drug trafficking,
22:02she did more than a visit.
22:05His DNA was found
22:06at the scene.
22:07And it's no surprise
22:09that when the detectives
22:11in charge found out,
22:13they wanted to have a look
22:14at this Michael Cardozi guy.
22:16Originally,
22:17we thought,
22:17just get out of prison.
22:19Seaman's in awe.
22:21You know,
22:22definitely a suspect.
22:23I don't think there's
22:24much room for speculation
22:26as to why Jasmine
22:27and Michael Cardozi
22:29split up.
22:31He got busted,
22:32went to prison,
22:33marriage over.
22:35And they divorced
22:36in 2005.
22:39He was still in love
22:40with Jasmine,
22:41and I think it's
22:42pretty clear that
22:43she had very strong
22:44feelings for him, too,
22:45because she literally
22:46went down to San Diego
22:48to see him.
22:49When he was questioned
22:50by detectives,
22:51he couldn't have had
22:52a more solid alibi.
22:54He had a monitor
22:55around his ankle
22:56tracking his every movement.
22:59He definitely wasn't
23:00anywhere near
23:01the scene of the murder.
23:07At this point,
23:09I was positive
23:10that Ryan Jenkins
23:12was a suspect.
23:13And we feel that
23:14he's running from us,
23:16so we look
23:17going to his background
23:17and, you know,
23:20we find out
23:20that he has
23:20criminal history.
23:22And he had
23:24prior domestic violence
23:25out of Canada.
23:27He was convicted
23:28for assaulting
23:28his girlfriend
23:29and was sentenced
23:30to 15 months probation
23:31and a sex addiction
23:33therapy program.
23:40Ryan became
23:41very jealous
23:42and very angry
23:44to see me
23:46even talking
23:47to other contestants.
23:49On the show,
23:50I had to kiss
23:51all of the guys.
23:52It's a dating show.
23:54And he had a hard time
23:56watching me
23:57kiss the other contestants.
24:00On March 8th,
24:02he wrote a message,
24:03seeing you kiss my bro
24:05was hard to deal with.
24:08Having been in Playboy
24:10or working with Playboy
24:11as a woman,
24:12you can encounter
24:13men in your relationships
24:14who are really
24:15attracted to that,
24:17but they're also
24:18simultaneously
24:18simultaneously
24:19very, very jealous,
24:20insecure,
24:20and can't handle it.
24:22Ryan Jenkins
24:23was absolutely,
24:25fiercely jealous
24:26of Jasmine.
24:27She so much
24:28as talked
24:28or text to a guy,
24:30he was going
24:30to be jealous.
24:31He was prone
24:32to violence.
24:33I had no idea
24:34that he was
24:35previously arrested
24:36for domestic violence.
24:38The show did
24:39some type
24:40of background checks,
24:41but the background
24:43check company
24:44missed it.
24:45From what I heard,
24:47he had his
24:49previous arrest
24:50expunged
24:51in Canada.
24:52Apparently in Las Vegas,
24:56about a month
24:57after they got married,
24:59he started talking
24:59with someone,
25:00got jealous,
25:01pushed her into the pool,
25:03and he was arrested
25:05for storming
25:05on domestic violence
25:06in Las Vegas.
25:08And he wound up
25:09spending a night
25:10in jail for that.
25:11And that case
25:12was still pending.
25:13I hadn't gone to court yet
25:14when her homicide happened
25:16four months later.
25:19I met my husband
25:20like five months
25:21before marrying him.
25:23So Jasmine
25:25gravitated towards me
25:26because we kind of
25:27had the same
25:28situation
25:29in her eyes.
25:32She asked me advice
25:33on how I handle
25:35when things get rough
25:36because he said
25:38something like
25:38he gets angry,
25:39I don't know
25:40how to deal with it.
25:41And I go,
25:42I understand,
25:44my husband gets angry
25:45as well,
25:46get him a man cave,
25:47try to keep busy.
25:49Just basically
25:50like girls like I know,
25:51aren't they terrible,
25:52aren't husbands terrible,
25:53just basic girl talk
25:55like that.
25:57I was just thinking
25:58it was more like
25:59my marriage.
26:01I didn't realize
26:01how much she was
26:04going through.
26:06Our staff was trying
26:06to call her to say,
26:07hey, are you going
26:08to be involved this year?
26:08and we didn't get
26:09any return phone calls.
26:12She just stopped
26:13coming around
26:14and generally
26:16when something
26:17happens like that,
26:18you always wonder
26:19is somebody okay?
26:20Because usually people
26:22just don't shut you
26:23off like that.
26:23in June 2009,
26:30Ryan came back
26:31to LA
26:32and called me
26:34and asked me
26:35if I wanted to
26:36go out to dinner
26:36with him
26:37and I agreed.
26:41Ryan looked like
26:42he had lost
26:43several pounds,
26:44his face
26:45was very thin,
26:46he was very pale,
26:47he was shaky,
26:49he was paranoid,
26:52he was just
26:53not himself anymore.
26:57Ryan told me
26:59that Jasmine
27:00was ruining his life
27:02but he's also
27:03obsessed with
27:04her not leaving him
27:06because he wants
27:07to win.
27:08He just can't
27:09accept any
27:10like rejection.
27:13So I convinced
27:13Ryan to be
27:14on season three
27:15of VH1's
27:17Isle of Money
27:17for the sole fact
27:19that I thought
27:20it would separate
27:21him from Jasmine
27:22for a while
27:22and he really
27:24needed to be
27:25away from her.
27:27They didn't
27:28love each other,
27:29he didn't even
27:30like her
27:31and she didn't
27:31like him.
27:33I told him
27:33leave Jasmine
27:34and get some space
27:36from her
27:37and just go
27:37get away
27:38from everything.
27:40Me meeting
27:41with him
27:41and her finding
27:43out set off
27:44a big chain
27:45of events
27:45between the two
27:46of them.
27:47Ryan filmed
27:56I Love Money 3
27:57early July
27:58the summer
27:59of 2009.
28:00By the time
28:01he went to Mexico
28:02to shoot
28:03the second reality
28:05show I Love Money
28:06part three
28:07Jasmine dyed
28:08her hair.
28:09She just wanted
28:10to become
28:11a different person
28:12and she was
28:14actively trying
28:16to get
28:17their marriage
28:18annulled,
28:19kaput,
28:20ended.
28:22Producers
28:22told me
28:23that he was
28:24so obsessed
28:25with winning
28:26the money
28:27so that maybe
28:28he could win
28:28back his wife
28:29and he would
28:31just call her
28:32all the time
28:33from the show
28:34trying to keep
28:37an eye on her.
28:39On July 27th
28:41Jenkins sends
28:42this plaintive
28:43email to Jasmine.
28:44I want you back.
28:46I'm going to do better.
28:48I can't live
28:49without you.
28:49I need you.
28:51Now, how did
28:52they end up
28:53back together?
28:55Maybe she was
28:56giving him
28:56one last shot
28:57or maybe
28:59she was just
29:00hanging out
29:01until she
29:03could be done
29:03with him.
29:04It's hard to say.
29:05Everybody wants
29:07to look
29:07from the outside
29:08and say,
29:09well, the first time
29:10you saw a red flag
29:11you should have left
29:11and it's not like that
29:12when you're in it at all.
29:14Like, you spend
29:14the early part
29:15of a relationship
29:16seeing the best
29:17of a person
29:17and you want to
29:18move forward
29:19in a relationship
29:20thinking it can get better.
29:21You think that
29:22the first thing
29:22that went wrong
29:23is a one-time thing.
29:24That person apologizes.
29:26It can take a lot
29:27for the average person
29:28to get out
29:29of an abusive relationship.
29:35So, rather manhunt
29:37for what Ryan Jenkins
29:37is going on.
29:39This case
29:40had broken
29:41open in the news.
29:43On all the celebrity pages
29:44it was on, you know,
29:46ABC, NBC, CBS.
29:48Police say 28-year-old
29:49Jasmine Fiori
29:50was strangled.
29:50The media coverage
29:51surrounding Jasmine's death
29:53was really brutal.
29:54You know,
29:55this came at a time
29:56when there was
29:56all kinds of
29:57new tabloid media
29:58chasing the story.
30:01People were searching
30:02for nude photos
30:03of her online.
30:04It was like
30:04one of the top
30:05searches.
30:06It just goes to show,
30:08you know,
30:08the appetite
30:08for how sensational
30:11this case was.
30:13You can't listen
30:14to the radio
30:14or turn on the TV
30:16without seeing it.
30:18I mean,
30:18even I was dumbfounded
30:19about how this
30:20became such a big story.
30:22Police have found
30:22some key evidence
30:23in the case
30:24of murdered model
30:24Jasmine Fiori.
30:27We're doing such once.
30:29We put a rush on it.
30:30We got Jasmine's
30:31cell phone number
30:32and we got Ryan's
30:34cell phone number.
30:34That immediately
30:35gives me
30:36not only photographs
30:38and videos,
30:39but it gives me
30:39the text messages.
30:41And we found out
30:42the day before
30:43she died,
30:44they went to a poker
30:45tournament in San Diego.
30:47We had a team
30:48of detectives
30:49go to San Diego
30:50to investigate
30:51the poker tournament
30:52and the hotel
30:54where they stayed.
30:56And it turns out
30:57that the hotel
30:57has an extensive
30:58video system.
30:59that's the smoking gun.
31:03That allowed us
31:04to piece together
31:05Jasmine's final moments
31:07with Ryan Jenkins
31:08and figure out
31:10what happened
31:11to Jasmine.
31:11On August 13th, 2009,
31:19we see them arriving
31:20at 3.28 in the afternoon.
31:24We see Jasmine's call
31:26pulling up.
31:27They took her
31:27at Mercedes.
31:29We see them get
31:30out of the vehicle.
31:32We see all their luggage
31:34being loaded onto
31:35one of those luggage dollies.
31:37One of the pieces
31:39of luggage
31:40is the same piece
31:41of luggage
31:41that her body
31:42was found in.
31:44So they'll stay
31:45on the ground floor.
31:46They go to their room.
31:48We don't see them again
31:49until 6.25
31:51when they're leaving
31:52the hotel room
31:53and both of them
31:53are decked out
31:54for a night to go out
31:55to this poker tournament.
31:59So we learned
32:00during the poker tournament
32:01she was texting
32:02a new person of interest,
32:04a gentleman
32:05the name of Robert Hasman.
32:07The former boyfriend.
32:09Robert Hasman
32:09was a high-end realtor
32:11in greater Las Vegas.
32:14He showed her
32:15the finer side of life
32:16at the very highest
32:18of levels.
32:22On the night
32:23she goes missing
32:23she sends a text
32:25to Robert Hasman
32:26saying,
32:27send a plane for me.
32:28Come get me.
32:29I'm coming back
32:30to Vegas to be with you.
32:31I am done
32:32with Ryan Jenkins.
32:34At the poker tournament
32:37Ryan and Jasmine
32:38started getting
32:39into an argument
32:40to the point
32:41where they decided
32:42they needed to go.
32:46They went after hours
32:48to this nightclub
32:49slash hotel
32:50called the Ivy.
32:51They arrived at the Ivy
32:53around 12.30 a.m.
32:55Witnesses from the Ivy
32:56say they really started
32:57getting into an argument
32:59at this point.
32:59and I think
33:01it's because
33:01he may have discovered
33:02the text messages
33:03she had been sending
33:04to her ex-boyfriend
33:05Robert Hasman.
33:07And so Robert Hasman
33:09said that the last
33:09text message
33:10he received
33:11from Jasmine
33:12was suck it.
33:14Which was
33:15out of characteristics
33:17with everything
33:18she had been texting him
33:20up to that point.
33:21And we know
33:23who sent that text.
33:24Ryan Jenkins
33:25sent that text.
33:28According to witnesses
33:29they leave the Ivy
33:30at 1.30 a.m.
33:31in the morning.
33:32They go back
33:33to pick up her vehicle
33:34at the poker tournament.
33:36This is the last time
33:37anyone sees
33:38Jasmine Feero.
33:40She's not upset.
33:41She's not crying.
33:43They left
33:44the casino
33:45at 2.30
33:46in the morning.
33:48We don't see
33:49Ryan Jenkins again
33:50until 4.30
33:51in the morning
33:51roughly those times.
33:53So there's a
33:54two-hour period
33:55missing him.
33:56I realized
33:57something happened.
33:58From the time
33:58they left
33:59where the poker
34:00tournament was
34:01to the time
34:01we next see him
34:03running to his hotel room
34:04he looks panicked
34:05and in a rush.
34:07You can see
34:09what the catalyst
34:10for Jenkins'
34:13rage and jealousy
34:14was
34:15because
34:16when we look
34:17at her phone
34:18after the fact
34:19she had been
34:20texting Robert
34:21all night long
34:22saying
34:23I'm coming back
34:24to Vegas.
34:25I want to be with you.
34:27And he's just like
34:28how could you do this
34:29to me?
34:30You're my love.
34:31You're my life.
34:32He snaps
34:32and he beats them.
34:39The video surveillance
34:40never shows
34:41Jasmine entering the room
34:42but we know
34:43that the parking lot
34:45is right behind
34:46their room.
34:46they have a small patio
34:48and you have access
34:49directly to the patio
34:50from the parking lot.
34:51We searched the room.
34:53We didn't find
34:54anything in the room.
34:55The room had already
34:56been serviced
34:57by the maid service
34:57but on the back patio
34:59we found
35:01slivers of hail
35:02and a little bit of blood
35:03which matches
35:04that Jasmine field.
35:06We see Ryan
35:07running around
35:08frantically
35:08coming into the room.
35:10This indicates to us
35:11is that she was not
35:12able to walk
35:13on her own
35:14and he didn't want
35:15to bring her through
35:16the hotel lobby.
35:19Takes her onto the porch
35:20runs around
35:21goes into the room
35:22with his passkey
35:23opens the back door
35:25and brings her
35:26inside the room.
35:29And according to witnesses
35:30who were in rooms
35:32opposite of those
35:33they're arguing.
35:35He cannot obviously
35:37convince her
35:38not to press charges
35:39not to call the police
35:41and he snaps.
35:49Three weeks into
35:50Megan wants a millionaire
35:51and bearing
35:52there was breaking news
35:54on the TV.
35:56Police named a suspect
35:57in the brutal killing
35:58of model Jasmine Fiore.
36:00It's her ex-husband
36:02Ryan Jenkins.
36:03I was in the shower
36:04and my roommate
36:05ran into the shower
36:06and said Ryan's on TV.
36:08He killed her.
36:10And that there was
36:11an international
36:12manhunt for Ryan.
36:15I immediately thought
36:16it was an accident.
36:18I didn't think that
36:19he could have
36:20purposely killed her.
36:25He strangled her to death
36:27in the hotel room
36:29in San Diego.
36:32And then as an afterthought
36:34he's thinking
36:35how do I keep
36:36who from being found?
36:37If they find her
36:38I don't want them
36:38to identify her
36:39I believe he
36:41took her into
36:42the bathtub
36:43shower area
36:44and cut off her fingers.
36:45I believe
36:46he flushed them
36:47down the toilet
36:47and teeth fragments
36:49were still inside
36:50of her mouth
36:50and inside the bag.
36:53After killing her
36:54cutting off her fingers
36:56breaking out teeth
36:57he put her
36:58in her suitcase
36:59zips it closed
37:00takes it out
37:01the back
37:02of the room
37:03onto the patio area
37:05and then into
37:06the vehicle.
37:10We can deduct this
37:12because none of the
37:13luggage came out
37:14the front.
37:17Next time we see
37:18Ryan is at 6.24 a.m.
37:19and he's leaving
37:20the room
37:21with what looks like
37:22his clothing
37:23in his arms
37:24stacked up.
37:26According to
37:31our search
37:32once
37:32we were able
37:33to watch
37:33Ryan drive
37:34from the hotel
37:35up the freeway.
37:37My theory is
37:38he's looking for
37:39a place to dump
37:39the body.
37:40Can't find one.
37:43Now
37:44he's going
37:45northbound the 5
37:46in that beach
37:46boulevard.
37:48He sees
37:48a bunch of
37:49apartment complexes.
37:50He sees a dump
37:51store.
37:52He opens
37:52the dump
37:53store
37:53and sees
37:53that it's empty.
37:54He takes
37:55the suitcase
37:56out of his
37:56claw
37:57that Jasmine's
37:57body is in
37:58and he heaves
37:59it into
38:00the trash can.
38:03We now have
38:04a warrant
38:04for the arrest
38:05of Ryan
38:06Alexander Jenkins
38:07for the murder
38:09of Jasmine.
38:11We're one step
38:12behind him
38:13and we feel
38:14we're getting
38:14real close
38:14to him.
38:16But I know
38:17that he knows
38:18that he's on the run.
38:19His reputation
38:20is him
38:21being a killer
38:22a monster.
38:22That was how
38:23he was being
38:24identified.
38:25So I could only
38:25imagine he was
38:26desperate.
38:28Ryan Jenkins
38:29went to Vegas.
38:30He went to a
38:30storage unit.
38:31He got his
38:32wakeboard boat.
38:33We got information
38:34that he hitched it
38:35to his BMW
38:36and then he
38:37travels north.
38:39To Washington.
38:41We notified
38:42the U.S. border
38:43in case he decides
38:44to cross into Canada.
38:46And we brought
38:46the Royal Canadian
38:47Mounties into it.
38:48We get information
38:51that there was
38:51a speedboat
38:52speeding near
38:53the Canadian
38:54border in the U.S.
38:55The United States
38:56Coast Guard
38:57spots Ryan Jenkins
38:58in this boat.
38:59It's at night.
39:01It's high seas.
39:03Ryan's out
39:04in the open ocean
39:05in his boat.
39:06They're trying
39:06to stop him.
39:08But they
39:09literally lost him.
39:13Ryan brought
39:14his boat back
39:15and popped it
39:16at a marina
39:18half a mile
39:19from the Canadian
39:20border and took
39:21off on foot.
39:23He was able
39:24to walk into
39:25Canada where
39:26there is no
39:26border crossing.
39:28There's no
39:29fence.
39:29There's no
39:29nothing.
39:30It's just a
39:31ditch that
39:32separates the U.S.
39:33and Canada.
39:34So anyone
39:35can just cross it.
39:38And then
39:39his sister came
39:40and picked him up.
39:42And she drove
39:43him to Hope,
39:44Canada.
39:44And he checked
39:46into the
39:46Thunderbird Motel.
39:48I believe he felt
39:49an enormous amount
39:50of guilt for what
39:51he did.
39:53I think he felt
39:54even more guilt
39:56that he couldn't
39:57get away with it
39:58and that his life
40:00was ruined and
40:01he was not going
40:01to spend it in
40:02prison, which
40:04is why he hung
40:05himself.
40:05So when they found
40:13his body, they also
40:14found his last
40:16will and testament.
40:18I'm sure everyone
40:20feels I'm a monster.
40:21Let me tell you that
40:22Jasmine was in fact
40:24a far greater monster
40:25than I could ever be.
40:27I merely wanted to
40:28love someone.
40:28My heart
40:30and love for her
40:31was pure
40:31and powerful.
40:33It drove me
40:34and brought out
40:34the very best
40:35in me.
40:36I'm sorry for
40:36running away
40:37from responsibility.
40:39There is just
40:40no place for me
40:41in this world
40:42anymore.
40:44Jasmine
40:44was the key
40:45to my happiness.
40:47You know, you
40:50always think,
40:51God, what could
40:52I have done?
40:53Like, I wish I
40:54told her to get
40:55away from him,
40:55but I didn't know
40:56to what level
40:58they were fighting
41:00or how bad
41:01he was.
41:04He stole
41:05everything from
41:06her, you know?
41:08He destroyed
41:09her.
41:10I mean, how much
41:10havoc can one
41:11monster create
41:12on this earth?
41:13He's the worst
41:14of the worst
41:15and he deserves
41:16every bit of hell
41:18that he no doubt
41:19made.
41:21Jasmine was robbed
41:22of dreams
41:23and ambitions
41:24and there's
41:25no excuse
41:26for that.
41:29The H1
41:29canceled the show.
41:31That ended
41:32my reality TV
41:33career.
41:33That ended
41:34my modeling
41:34career.
41:35People just
41:36didn't want
41:37to be associated.
