00:11This bold claim has been circling TikTok lately, as many brave, eyebrow-slitted creators fiercely defy it,

00:16feasting on purple icing and giving Buttercup Bake Shop a highly specific new demographic.

00:21But how and why did this rule originate?

00:23The meme is based on a video posted on April 28, 2025, by TikToker Amina3,

00:28who happens to have an eyebrow slit. In the video, she says,

00:31Who said girls with an eyebrow slit can't have an ube cupcake from Buttercup Bake Shop?

00:35and then takes a bite out of her ube cupcake from Buttercup Bake Shop.

00:39Okay.

00:40Obviously, the answer is no one. No one said that.

00:43But the specificity of Amina3's rebellion garnered her video upwards of 8 million views in under two weeks

00:49and inspired memes from other TikTokers,

00:51with many posting videos acting as though they were the people she was referring to in her video.

00:55This is just your daily reminder that if you're a girl with an eyebrow slit,

00:58you cannot have an ube cupcake from Buttercup Bake Shop.

01:02Other TikTokers rocking eyebrow slits were also quick to join in on the trend,

01:06either lamenting what they supposedly couldn't have,

01:08or grabbing themselves an ube cupcake and sticking it to the haters.

01:11But Amina3 was obviously joking, and it wasn't her first go at this type of joke.

01:15She posted a similar video in February, defying another oddly specific rule she made up.

01:20Who said girls with honey blonde hair and highlights can't eat a chicken pot pie from KFC?

01:24This joke is far from new.

01:26People have been creating and breaking highly specific nonsense rules since at least 2016,

01:30when Twitter user ChampagneAri tweeted,

01:32and they say girls with brown hair can't wear jeans,

01:35alongside pictures of her brunette self in jeans.

01:37But Amina's ube cupcake seems to have inspired a new wave of these,

01:40as other TikTokers are now parodying her video with new specific rules of their own.
