00:00Aaron, we spoke a couple of days ago about what it would be like to leave the team out of Wembley.
00:05Did today's 3-0 win, all those fans live up to everything you hoped for?
00:10Yeah, they couldn't have really gone any better.
00:13Maybe it could have been about 10 degrees cooler in the stadium.
00:16The heat was tough, but in terms of the outcome, it couldn't have gone any better.
00:22And the support we had from our fans was absolutely sensational.
00:27We heard them, it felt like a home game, really, in an arena like that.
00:32It's hard to create that atmosphere, so fair play to them.
00:35And then to lift the trophy with Olly Harfield, who's been through a lot himself,
00:40with a horrific injury, one of the worst injuries I've seen in football, to be honest.
00:44To lift the trophy with him was very special, and he's a close friend of mine.
00:48That was an amazing moment, really, to be honest.
00:51And that sea of red and blue, did that put you in the warm-up or coming out of the game?
00:56Definitely in the warm-up, yeah.
00:59Like, come out and for us to feel like, was it three tiers worth of older shot fans?
01:05Look up and you can't even see the faces or the shirts of the guys at the back,
01:10but you can just see the sea of red and blue.
01:12It was amazing to have that support, really.
01:15It felt like we were a proper big, big club.
01:18So, yeah, they pushed us all the way, and fair play to them.
01:22They've got us over the line.
01:24First half, at half-time at New England, was it just a case of just a jump tempo a little bit in the second half?
01:29Yeah, definitely. That was kind of a message from the staff.
01:34It was just to move the ball a little bit quicker, have a little bit more urgency in our play,
01:38which we all agreed with.
01:40So, yeah, I feel like we came out and executed that in the second half
01:43and took our chances when we got them.
01:45Presumably, you compared to Compton, you know, they might tie, you know, fitness-wise.
01:49Obviously, being a higher league, that might tie and obviously get you in front as well.
01:52They tried to come out a bit more, didn't they, as well?
01:55Yeah, although we didn't really move them out of their shape too much in the first half,
02:00they still had to run and chase the ball, which, like I said, it was very hot today.
02:04So, for them to have to do that on a day like today, it must have taken some energy out of them.
02:08So, yeah, obviously, second half, we took advantage of that,
02:12space opened up a little bit more and managed to capitalise.
02:15So, yeah, just the best feeling in the wild, man. Best feeling.
02:19Jack Barham has had a good run in this competition, scoring the winner in the semi
02:22and then getting the first goal at Wembley.
02:24And that obviously set you on your way nicely there in the second half.
02:27Yeah, no, Jack's obviously played a little bit of a different role today as a low and nine,
02:31but he's always in the right spot, he smells a goal, he does it in training.
02:35We all get annoyed at him because sometimes on a Friday, like when we do small-sided games,
02:39he doesn't really defend, but he always scores, he's always in the right spot.
02:42So, yeah, no, he's a fair play to him, deserves a man in the match
02:46and tickets for him to get his goal in front of his two kids and his wife was amazing,
02:50or his girlfriend, sorry.
02:51Yeah, I mean, for all of you sort of, you know, players, staff,
02:54have all your friends and family here, that adds to the specialness of the occasion, I guess, presumably.
02:59Yeah, definitely does. To have your family here and I walked out with my little niece,
03:04my brother's little girl, so special to see all my family up in the stands
03:09and people that have travelled from all around the country.
03:12One of my mates even flew back from Norway for the game, so, yeah, it's just an incredible day
03:17and to have them there makes it even more special than it would have been.
03:21Yeah.
03:22Just to have our Shots fans in.
03:23Yeah, lifetime memories, really.
03:24Yeah.
03:25And then, yeah, Dan Allison gets his first golfer club.
03:27Good place to pop up for Wembley, isn't it, for him, that?
03:29Great time, yeah. He's hit a bar a few times, a post a few times.
03:32I think it's that big fringe that he's got on his head that sometimes meant that it's not gone in,
03:36but he's had a little haircut in the week and, yeah, he's looking a little bit less fringy
03:42and he guided it in the corner, but he was amazing today.
03:45He was incredible, so, yeah, fair play to him.
03:48And then Josh Barrett, just doing Josh Barrett things with that third goal, wasn't he?
03:51Yeah. No, when the ball drops like that, you don't want anyone else in that position, both feet.
03:55You know he's got the ability to stick it in the corner, so buzzing for him.
03:59And, again, he had his family here, his little guy, Milo, who's an absolute diamond.
04:04So, yeah, fair play.
04:06And at 3-0 then, presumably those last couple of minutes, you could almost take it in a little bit, almost, couldn't you?
04:11You learned to sort of appreciate what was happening, almost.
04:13Yeah, soaking up the atmosphere, looking around, seeing all the happy faces in the stands was special.
04:18But we wanted to keep a clean shoot, so it was important to stay kind of locked in for the last little bit.
04:22But, yeah, buzzing for Jordy coming on and Oli's gone as well.
04:25So, yeah, all in all, great day.
04:27Yeah, fitting reward for those guys, isn't it? You need everyone in the squad, you know, playing their part there.
04:31Yeah, no, that's it. Jordy's been, obviously, limited for game time this year,
04:36but his attitude's been spot on in the time that he's stepped on the pitch and every day on the training pitch.
04:40So, you know, hats off to him. He's a great guy, a great prog.
04:44And just, you know, lifting that trophy, just great memories for me, great feeling.
04:50Incredible. One of the best days of my life, for sure. And, yeah, just can't put into words what it means for the club after everything the club's been through.
04:59Going into administration twice and now to give them a day in the sun. It's just top. Just top. They deserve it.
05:05Yeah. I mean, yeah, 99 years of football in all shot. First time at Wembley and Wembley winners. I mean, couldn't be better, could it?
05:11No. I think the Gaffer always believed that he would lead this group to do that. So, what he's been through as well this year,
05:18hasn't really been spoken about a lot. Got a little bit of coverage this week, but we're all so proud of him.
05:24The way he's bounced back from, like, a major illness and the character and resilience that he's shown.
05:29I think that kind of shows in his team, like, we kind of want to personify his character, really.
05:35So, yeah, I love him and trust him and, yeah, he's just top.
05:41That says a lot about the character of the group as a whole, really, that you all came through that.
05:44You know, it's tough for him, but it's tough for the group as well.
05:46No, fair play to, like, Rich, Hugo and Smalley. They picked up and, you know, tried to make everything the same.
05:53But, obviously, with the big boss not being there, things are a little bit different.
05:56But, yeah, as soon as he come back in, kind of eased himself back in and he's been back to himself, which is amazing to see.
06:02He deserves all the success and all the happiness that he's given.
06:06He's even a change of himself. He's just absolutely buzzing now.
06:08Buzzing, man. Buzzing. I need to go and have a beer.
