Nagi Maehashi wins Illustrated Book of the Year at the ABIAs

Nagi Maehashi's cookbook has won Illustrated Book of the Year at the publishing industry's annual awards ceremony in Melbourne. She was nominated alongside fellow author Brooke Bellamy who Ms Maehashi recently claimed plagiarized two of her recipes. Ms. Bellamy and her publisher deny the allegation.

00:25bellamy of copying her recipes for caramel slice and baklava in brooke bellamy's latest cookbook

00:33baking with brookie now it must be said that brooke bellamy has denied the allegations so

00:40too has her publisher penguin and she's issued a statement saying that in fact she was baking and

00:46selling these recipes long before they appeared in miss mahashi's cookbook but at the end of the day

00:52it was nagi mahashi who won this award and when she left the awards ceremony she let this slip

01:53the best biography for john farnham's uh recounting of his battle with throat cancer with the voice

02:01inside now another person who is very close to many of our hearts who was also a very worthy winner

02:08was the 2024 co-australian of the year richard scollier he won the best social impact book for his book
