00:00Let's check in with markets in Toronto today.

00:05Canada's main stock index rose a bit on Tuesday after US President Donald Trump made new tariff threats,

00:11sparking fresh worries about a trade war.

00:14At the same time, investors were keeping an eye on the US Federal Reserve,

00:18which kicked off a two-day meeting today.

00:21The Fed is expected to announce its decision on interest rates on Wednesday,

00:25and most people think they'll leave rates unchanged.

00:27Still, investors will be listening closely to what Fed officials say,

00:31looking for any clues about whether rate cuts might be on the table later this year.

00:36The TSX rose more than 20 points today, and the venture was up 9.5.

00:41The Dow lost almost 390 points, and the NASDAQ was down 176.

00:52As for the top gaining TS stocks on the day,

00:55from yesterday's biggest loser to today's biggest gainer,

00:58Vertical Studios was up 33%, tied with Sullivan Mining, both trading at 2 cents a share.

01:04And Eris Mining was up 19%.

01:08But the stocks that saw the biggest drop were from yesterday's biggest gainer to today's biggest loser,

01:19Thinkific Labs lost 36.5%, Flintcorp was down 33%, and Tidewater Renewables saw 18% of its share value drift away.
