00:00We've got many tools to help you optimize your health, safety and comfort here in the AccuWeather Free app.

00:09One of those is our localized air quality forecast.

00:13And this is a great resource to understand what type of pollution is occurring in the air.

00:17Of course, that's become a big issue in recent years related to wildfire smoke.

00:21But there are many different ways that the air pollution in any area can be reduced.

00:25And when that happens, that can result in health issues, especially for people with respiratory challenges.

00:31So how do you access this content?

00:32Well, on the free AccuWeather app, when you download that, you open it up to your dashboard.

00:36This is all of your latest local forecasts with proven superior accuracy.

00:40And buttons at the bottom to access different types of AccuWeather content.

00:44If you scroll down past the interactive maps and radar and into air quality,

00:50that's where you have the ability to take a look at the current air quality information and tap on see more.

00:56And I'm going to go over to New York City here.

00:58We've got some poor air quality concerns in some spots here.

01:01And notice we've got a circle here that indicates the quality of the air.

01:06And more of this circle that's filled up, that means the air quality is even more problematic and more concerned.

01:13So the 58 on AccuWeather's AQI, that's air quality index, which is a poor description.

01:19And look, we provide not only just the description and the number, but also the impacts.

01:24Air has reached a high level of pollution and is unhealthy for sensitive groups.

01:28And that gives you information about some people may have difficulty breathing or face throat irritation.

01:34And then on the right hand side of the screen you can see why is that.

01:37While we actually have some air pollution, gas pollution that's occurring in that area.

01:42And we describe what those impacts are so you can make the best plans.
