00:00There are many tools to help you optimize your health, safety and comfort on the free

00:04AccuWeather app.

00:06And one of those features is looking at the air quality, current conditions and forecast

00:10information.

00:11Let's dive into that in today's top pick on the AccuWeather app.

00:13And of course, when you're at the main home screen of the AccuWeather app, you can see

00:17we're over in Dodge City, Kansas here today, but you can tap there and type in any location

00:22around the country and around the world, your exclusive AccuWeather MinuteCast, minute-by-minute

00:27forecast out to four hours, but when you click down on the right-hand side of the screen

00:31here on the tablet version or on the phone version, you scroll down a little bit.

00:35And when you scroll down all the way to air quality, that gives you a report about the

00:39current air quality.

00:41In other words, is there pollution in the air in your community right now?

00:45And that's on a little, on a circle here.

00:47And the more that circle that's filled up, the worse the air quality is.

00:50So you can see in Dodge City right now, that's a 129 on the AccuWeather air quality index,

00:56which is unhealthy.

00:57And we describe what can happen there.

00:59Health effects can immediately be felt by sensitive groups, people that may experience

01:04difficulty breathing and throat irritation, things of that nature.

01:07You can scroll down a little bit further, I'm sorry, you can tap on that see more button

01:11actually and get a breakdown of the particular things that are causing pollution.

01:16Here it's particulate today across the Dodge City area, so those little particles that are

01:21in the air as opposed to some of the gases, and those gases are listed out on the bottom.

01:25So again, you have a sense of what is causing that air pollution.

01:28And when you tap on the hourly forecast in the Premium Plus app, you can bring up the air

01:33quality index and track it, how it changes over time so you can make the best plans.
