00:00Joint operations going on in Jammu and Kashmir.
00:03The Indian Army and the JNK police have busted a terror hideout
00:06as information is surfacing in a forest area in Suran Koton Posh in the Jammu region
00:12where five explosive devices have been recovered by the security forces.
00:17Tiffin box, steel buckets where the IEDs had been kept.
00:21Security forces say they have also recovered communication devices and other incriminating material.
00:26So this is what is happening in the latest right now where we are told that
00:32details that are coming in that as more and more searches, raids, joint ops that are taking place
00:40this was by the JKP and the Indian Army that they have busted a terror hideout in Suran Koton.
00:46Remember these are in many ways border areas and where explosive devices of this nature being found
00:52are of course concerning to say the least.
00:54We are told three IEDs were found in a Tiffin box, two in steel buckets.
01:00Communication devices have been also recovered by the forces.
01:05So these are remember different kinds of operations that have been going on.
01:09While the hunt is still on for the terrorists, for the butchers who massacred 26 innocent people in Pehel Gham.
01:15But there are tensions along the line of control at international border too.
01:19And these were areas remember, for example, Ponch, Naushera and more that had relatively become calm over the past few years.
01:27However, I can tell you now that the situation definitely is witnessing tensions as much for the villagers at that border
01:36who had started to breathe a sigh of relief.
01:39But with unprovoked small arms firing, trying to disturb at the border areas,
01:44it's led to of course more operations searches and reads also that are happening.
01:49So that is the big news coming in on top of this bulletin that this is in the Jammu region in Sorenkot in Ponch district.
02:03Remember, Sorenkot and these areas also have been where in the past few days there have been small arms firing,
02:09reported Indian Army giving a befitting reply.
02:11Whether it's Aknur, Naushera, Kupwara, here in this case, areas in Ponch district as well,
02:18where there are reports surfacing of small arms firing and in turn retaliation.
02:24Meer Farid joins me for the latest on that.
02:26Farid, good morning.
02:27Tell me what is unfolding in Ponch in Sorenkot.
02:30How and why the security forces are claiming there have been IEDs recovered and how?
02:34And what does this mean?
02:35Well, Pooja, you know, post-Pailgam terror attack, there has been a proactive approach
02:43that has been adopted by the security agencies.
02:46Action has happened in multiple levels.
02:48OGW network thereafter and then in Pailgam there is an operation that is still ongoing.
02:54But on the line of control, which has suddenly become very hot post-Pailgam terror attack,
03:01every night there are new sectors that are getting involved, firing, reporting from multiple areas.
03:08And now, if you talk of these IEDs, they have been recovered from a hideout.
03:12Now, these are around five to six improvised explosive devices.
03:16We've been told by our sources that they're ready,
03:19means they're fitted with all the necessary circuits, etc.
03:22And they had to be only taken and used now.
03:25So before they could do it, it seems that Intel input security agencies got,
03:29they busted the hideout and recovered these IEDs.
03:33So this obviously tells you that the terror outfits, they are very much active.
03:39And while we know in the Jammu side, the higher reaches have seen non-stop operations.
03:45They have been attacking, launching operations against the security forces.
03:49And now it seems that these IEDs were there for specific purpose,
03:54again, to target probably security forces.
03:56But before they could do it, they have been recovered.
03:59And this is probably a big terror plot for it.
04:03Fareed, stay on.
04:04The images that you've also accessed on our screens right now,
04:07that the Indian Army, that the Jammu Kishmir police claim that they have recovered from
04:11Surankot in Ponch district.
04:14And remember, these are local items that are used to hide these IEDs.
04:18So Fareed and all our colleagues on the ground will be tracking more on this.
04:23In just a short while, we'll be having more updates on that.
04:26Fareed, thank you very much for now.
04:27Meanwhile, remember, it appears Pakistan is tracking every comment that is coming in
04:35from our opposition leaders, from what the government is up to.
04:38In the latest, remember, for example, the Congress, UP chief,
04:41decided to mock the Defence Minister with a NEMU Mirchi miniature of the Rafal Jets,
04:45asking what is India doing about it.
04:48Pakistani media has pigged on this as well.
04:51The BJP claims that the pro-Pakistan, pro-Pakistan Congress leaders are making headlines in Pakistan.
04:58While attacking the Congress party, they are emphasising that while India is preparing
05:02a response against Pakistan, our own leaders are mocking us.
05:05Controversy erupted after Ajay Rai stoked the fire.
05:08Look closely on his screen.
05:09He used what appeared to be a model, a miniature of the Rafal jet,
05:13inducted in Indian Air Force as well, saying that they have been left unused.
05:18Chilis and lemons have been hanging from them.
05:20And this is in reference to how, when the Defence Minister had done it,
05:24when the Rafal Jets were being inducted.
05:26Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi tried to soften the blow,
05:28distancing from the Commons.
05:30She stated that the Congress supports whatever decision governments take.
05:33Listen in to what did Ajay Rai say in response.
05:36What are the BJP leaders saying?
05:37They called the push.
05:37Today, Rafael came to the press.
05:40They have been código, and they are sitting here.
05:42They have been kept on the press.
05:44You remember, I didn't remember that I was not.
05:46They were not being made.
05:46I was made on the press.
05:47They went through the press.
05:49The government, Rekhasa Mantri, who has been held under the press.
05:50Which has been held under the press.
05:51He came to the press.
05:52When it is held under the press, when it is held?
05:54It will be held under the press.
05:55It will be held under the press.
05:56It will be held under the press.
05:58The Congress Party has
06:28in their CWC given a statement.
06:31We all stand by that statement
06:33and that is the official statement
06:34of the Congress Party.
06:36That statement clearly says
06:38that we support whatever action
06:40the government is going to take.
06:41In fact, we urge the government
06:43to take very strong decisive action
06:45and to take it fast.
06:58We are
07:26foreign

08:46And it's not just our politicians from the opposition parties Jamia chief Arshad Madini also kicked the hoardness nest
08:52Because he questioned
08:54Why the suspension of Indus water treaty with Pakistan?
08:58I'm sorry
09:00I'm sorry
09:02I'm sorry
09:04What do you have to say?
09:06What do you think?
09:08I'm sorry
09:10I can't do this
09:11I can't do this
09:12I can't do this
09:13I can't do that
09:14. . . . . . .
09:44They were killed by the Hindus. They were killed by the government and they were killed by the government.
09:50They would not do anything at all. But when they stop water, they have to stop their breath with Pakistan.
09:56That's why these are the issues of this situation. At this time, they should stop them.
10:02Because the elements of this situation are the same in the country.
10:07Piyush Mishra joins me for the latest on that.
10:10Piyush, the BJP claims that this is being used by Pakistan.
10:13What has led to that claim?
10:15And tell me about Ajay Rai's antics as well.
10:18And we'll play out that visual.
10:19Full-on miniature of an aircraft with the Neembu Mirchi.
10:24What is the attempt, do you think, here of the Congress leader?
10:27Is he being sidelined right now or is he being encouraged for what he has said?
10:31All that and more. Piyush.
10:36Well, Pooja, it seems like the Congress party has officially made it very clear
10:40that it is standing with the kind of actions the government is going to take.
10:44And it has also requested government to take the actions as soon as possible.
10:48Remember that Prenka Gandhi had also said that during the whole party meeting,
10:53the Congress party had extended its complete support to the actions which the government is going to take.
10:58But the point here is that at one side, the top leadership of the Congress party is saying
11:04that we are with the government.
11:05On the other side, we have Congress official spokesperses, Syrian leaders coming out
11:09and trying to make mockery of Indian armed forces.
11:12Remember that Supriya Srinath, who is the official spokesman of the Congress party,
11:18represents the Congress's views on debates on national media.
11:24She had posted a picture of PM Narendra Modi missing and she had written GAYAB.
11:30Remember that it was later on deleted by the Congress party after the top leadership
11:35had taken Congresses of that.
11:37But it seems like the Congress leaders have not learned from their mistakes.
11:41Now, UP Congress leader and Ajay Rai is a very senior leader who also fought elections
11:47against PM Narendra Modi.
11:48He is now seen holding a miniature in his hand, saying that it is Rafael Twai.
11:54And remember that the entire miniature is also decorated with lemon and chili.
11:58So, he is also trying to somewhere ridicule our armed forces.
12:02Now, the BJP has hit back at the Congress leader saying that they are now running the agenda
12:08of Pakistan.
12:09They are speaking the voice of Pakistan because the Pakistan has now used that particular image
12:15which was shown by Ajay Rai.
12:18And it is also making mockery of our armed forces.
12:21So, we are now seeing how allegations coming in from the Congress party.
12:25But the Bharatiya Party has hit back at the Congress party saying why this sort of act is being adopted.
12:31Full-on antics are at play right now.
12:33Ajay Rai, not just giving out a comment, he brought in a miniature model with himself to showcase and take a dig at the Defense Minister.
12:40So, this comment got picked up by Pakistan media too.
12:43All right, Pew, stay on with me.
12:45Thank you very much for now tracking all the latest on that.
12:47But, here's how it's important, how the government of India is responding.
12:51Every few days, the top leadership is sending out a message as much to people of India as to Pakistan establishment.
12:58Prime Minister Modi, of course, was the first one to give Indian armed forces complete operational freedom to respond to the attack,
13:04promising that terrorism will be wiped out and warning of a punishment for those behind such acts.
13:09Then, Home Minister Amit Shah, echoing a commitment, vowing to avenge the cowardly attack and emphasizing that the world stands with India at this point in a fight against terror.
13:19Now, in the latest, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has highlighted Prime Minister Modi's leadership, calling it decisive and unyielding.
13:26He's pointed out that Prime Minister Modi has mastered the art of taking risks and delivering when it matters.
13:33He's appreciating Prime Minister Modi's leadership, saying India is ready to make sure that the promises are fulfilled.
13:38Remember, these are direct messages, clearly to a public of this country, as much that has faced distress, anger, outrage over the Pahlga massacre on 22nd April.
13:49I want to say that the defense of the Indian armed forces is reached.
14:02I want to say that there is no truth.
14:03। । । । । । ।
14:33। । । । । । ।
15:03। । । ।
15:33। । ।
16:03
16:05
16:07
16:09। ।
16:11
16:13
16:15
16:17Now here's what has happened in the latest.
16:20The European Union Foreign Policy Chief, Kajakalas, has called on India and Pakistan to show restraint,
16:25warning that escalation will not help.
16:27But remember, India is the only side here which has shown restraint.
16:32Pakistan never has.
16:34So to that, External Affairs Minister S.J. Shankar has it out and said this,
16:38stating that we need an equal partnership, not preaching at this point.
16:43Well, look, when we look out at the world, Samir,
16:47we look for partners, we don't look for preachers.
16:52Particularly preachers who don't practice at home what they preach abroad.
16:56Europe, I think, has entered a certain zone of reality check.
17:02Now whether they are able to step up to it or not, it's something we will have to see.
17:09But from our point of view, if we are to develop a partnership,
17:13there has to be some understanding, there has to be some sensitivity,
17:18there has to be a mutuality of interest,
17:21and there has to be a realization of how the world works.
17:27And I think these are all work in progress to differing degrees with different parts of Europe.
17:37So some have moved further, some a little bit less.
17:43Remember that at this juncture, though, even though India hasn't initiated any military strike,
17:49there is a high alert, clearly.
17:51Prime Minister Modi has had meetings with the military chiefs as well,
17:55and in the latest, over the weekend, there have been separate meetings,
17:58especially with the chief of the Navy and the Air Force.
18:01The message is clear that India is ready,
18:03but the timing, the target, the mode, all of that will be decided by India,
18:06by Indian Armed Forces, not when Pakistan expects it.
18:09Here's a report on that.
18:29After the Pahalgam terror attack, India is battle-ready,
18:33with not-so-subtle message on its preparedness,
18:36apart from diplomatic and economic offensive.
18:42In a high-tempo security response,
18:45Prime Minister Modi met all three service chiefs separately,
18:49starting from April 30th,
18:51to assess the situation and review India's preparedness.
18:59India's Apex Defense Research Body, DRDO,
19:02successfully conducted maiden flight trials of a stratospheric airship platform.
19:08The game-changing reconnaissance airship soared at a staggering 17 kilometers above Earth
19:15and stayed afloat for 62 minutes,
19:18marking a breakthrough in India's surveillance capabilities in the skies.
19:21Only a handful of nations possess such advanced technology,
19:26that too, indigenous.
19:29Whatever changes are taking place on ground,
19:32in the troposphere,
19:34whether it's very cloudy or it's raining
19:36or the vision is blocked,
19:38from the stratosphere or from 55,000 feet altitude,
19:43you can keep a hawk eye on development.
19:45Your radars on ground have a limited range.
19:48Last month, the Indian Air Force launched Exercise Aakraman,
19:55a display of precision and dominance.
20:00Meanwhile, the IAF continues combat readiness drills
20:04with its Rafal fleet and support squadrons,
20:07carrying out high-intensity exercises
20:10and landing on expressway in UP's Shahjapur.
20:13India has strengthened its air defense
20:19by procuring a new batch of Russian-origin Igla-S missiles.
20:26These shoulder-fired systems are designed to neutralize
20:29low-flying enemy aircraft, drones and helicopters with accuracy.
20:34The Army has also floated a tender
20:41for next-generation shoulder-fired air defense systems,
20:45aiming to acquire 48 launchers and 85 missiles
20:49under the Make-in-India Drive.
20:51The Indian Navy has tested missiles from INS Surat,
20:57signaling full-spectrum readiness at sea.
21:00These drills are part of a coordinated military posture
21:03in response to regional threats.
21:06The forces are also keeping the border
21:08under never-before surveillance.
21:10The roads are concerned as far as sanitizing.
21:16The jungles are concerned
21:17because, remember, there could be a terrorist movement.
21:20And all that is now something which is under scanner
21:24as to which of these areas are the ones
21:27where terrorists could be lurking.
21:29But definitely, this is an area domination exercise
21:32which is currently going on.
21:34And moving very tactically in these particular areas
21:37are up brave jawans.
21:39This route has also seen a lot of infiltrations in and around.
21:43Pakistan is just about 20 kilometers from here
21:47on a motorable road.
21:48But as the crow flies, it's just about 4 kilometers.
21:52And this is where the dominance is to be seen
21:55by security grid, in particular the Indian Army,
21:57which has a camp, the long-range patrol,
22:00which is currently on.
22:00And that is how you see the patrol take place.
22:05India's message is clear.
22:07Any terror strike will be met with layered, decisive responses
22:11across land, sea and air.
22:14Remember that India has already taken decisions
22:23when it comes to Pakistan.
22:25For example, the Indus Water Treaty in abeyance
22:27and now cutting water flow from the Baglehar
22:30and Kishin Ganga dams as well.
22:32This is part of a broader campaign.
22:34Economic, digital, political pressure
22:36and more on this rogue nation, neighbour.
22:39Let's take a look at this report.
22:40What is the impact, the consequence
22:42of taking decisions, for example,
22:44like putting the treaty of the Indus Water in abeyance?
22:48India on track to make Pakistan pay for Pahlgaam.
23:05India's diplomatic offensive against Pakistan
23:08shows no signs of slowing.
23:10After placing the Indus Waters Treaty into abeyance,
23:14India in a fresh water strike against Pakistan
23:17has curtailed the flow of water
23:19through the Baglehar Dam on the Chinab River.
23:22Sources say a similar clampdown on water flow
23:26to Pakistan is being planned at the Kishin Ganga Dam
23:29on the Jhelum River.
23:31Earlier, India had put the Indus Water Treaty
23:33with Pakistan on hold.
23:34These rivers are lifelines for Pakistan,
23:39critical for irrigation, drinking water and survival.
23:42And now, they are part of high-stakes geopolitical weapon.
23:47Earlier, India opened the floodgates
23:49at the Salal Dam in a warning shot.
23:52But the war isn't just flowing through rivers.
23:56India has banned all imports from Pakistan,
23:58suspended postal services
24:00and barred Pakistani ships from Indian ports.
24:05Digitally, it struck harder
24:07by blocking ex-accounts
24:09of former Prime Minister Imran Khan
24:11and former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto.
24:15Even sitting Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif
24:18has not been spared.
24:19His YouTube channel has also been pulled down
24:22by the Indian government.
24:25Pakistani celebrities like Hania Amir
24:28and Fawad Khan have also faced
24:30digital blackouts in India.
24:32As Islamabad waits,
24:35nervous and uncertain,
24:37one question echoes across the world.
24:40Where will India's final strike land
24:42and will Pakistan be ready?
24:46Bureau Report, India Today.
24:47On the sidelines of this, remember,
24:52it's the investigation on the ground
24:53in JNK intensifying.
24:55There have been detentions, arrests as well,
24:57especially when it comes to alleged local support
25:00or the OGWs.
25:01There's been, however, in this case,
25:03a death of a 23-year-old man in Kulgaam
25:05who allegedly drowned while escaping police custody
25:08has sparked mixed reactions that have come in.
25:11According to the investigating agencies,
25:12the suspected Lashkar terrorist,
25:15Imtiaz Ahmed,
25:16drowned after he was taken in custody.
25:18He was basically,
25:19according to the police sources,
25:20that Imtiaz had confessed to having knowledge
25:22of a Lashkar hideout.
25:24During the questioning,
25:25he was taken to that location
25:26that he had identified,
25:28but then he jumped into a stream
25:29while attempting to escape.
25:31All of this, in fact,
25:32there's also with evidence of the drone footage
25:34where you can see the man running
25:36and jumping into the stream.
25:37His family on the other side
25:40is alleging custodial death, murder.
25:43JNK Minister Sakeena Ait too visited the family,
25:45asking for a judicial investigation in this case.
25:47JNK Minister Sakeena Ait.
26:17My colleague Meir Fareed is joining me
26:22for the latest on that.
26:23Fareed, tell me what the police sources
26:25are telling you in this case,
26:27because this drone footage
26:28could actually act as evidence
26:30for the cops here.
26:31But what is the family saying?
26:33How is the political controversy
26:34emerging on this?
26:35Yes, Pooja,
26:39it's already a political controversy
26:40because you have Mehba Mufti,
26:42you have a cabinet minister,
26:44Huma Abdullah's government,
26:45demanding a judicial probe.
26:46Now, Amtia Zemad,
26:47a 23-year-old youth
26:49from Tangmag area of Kulgam went,
26:52in fact,
26:53was picked up by security forces
26:55on suspicion of being
26:56an elite overground worker.
26:58But just two days after that,
27:00yesterday in the morning,
27:02his body was found
27:03from the Vaishun Nala,
27:04and that triggered outrage
27:05and anger in the local community.
27:07Now, post this,
27:09while the family has claimed
27:10that it's a clear-cut case
27:12of custodial death,
27:14the police has come out
27:15and said that he was
27:16an overground worker,
27:17and in fact,
27:19during his questioning,
27:20he confessed to,
27:22knowing a terror hideout,
27:23he was being taken
27:24to the location
27:24when he tried to escape,
27:26jumped into Vaishun Nala
27:28and he drowned.
27:28Now, people,
27:30obviously,
27:31family,
27:32questioning the police virgin,
27:34saying that
27:34this is not the case,
27:36their son was not involved
27:37in any kind of terror activity.
27:39So, now the locals,
27:41the family,
27:42and the politicians
27:44are demanding
27:45a judicial probe
27:45into the incident.
27:46Pooja,
27:46this is not the first incident.
27:48Another encounter
27:49that's under the scanner
27:50is in Bandipura,
27:51where a local,
27:52who's, again,
27:54was said to be a Lashkar,
27:55overground worker,
27:56Altaaf Lali,
27:57was killed.
27:58There also,
27:58the family has alleged
27:59that he was picked up
28:00and then,
28:01next they heard
28:02was an encounter.
28:03There are two incidents
28:04that are under the scanner
28:05and obviously,
28:06political controversy
28:07on both of them.
28:08Pooja.
28:08Fareed,
28:08thank you very much
28:09for updating us
28:10with what's happening
28:11on the ground.
28:12A GMK senior leader
28:13narrowly escaping
28:15possible grave injury,
28:16and this happened
28:18while he was speaking
28:19on the stage.
28:20A Raja,
28:21who's been,
28:21remember,
28:22a DMK MP,
28:23a senior leader,
28:24been a former minister
28:24in the UK government
28:25as well,
28:27could have got
28:28grievously hurt
28:29but managed to escape.
28:32This was,
28:32we are told,
28:33as the DMK general secretary
28:34was speaking over the budget,
28:36a metal post with lambs
28:37fell exactly where he was standing,
28:40on the podium.
28:41So,
28:41very narrow escape.
28:42We'll have the visuals
28:43on his screen
28:44in just a short while.
28:45Raja jumps to the side,
28:47manages to escape
28:48an immediate presence of mind
28:50that he reflected upon.
28:52However,
28:53because this was a rally,
28:54what exactly happened?
28:55Were there not enough
28:56precautions that were taken?
28:58And not just simply,
28:59remember,
28:59a pole,
29:00which could have been bad enough,
29:02but a full-on metal post
29:03with lambs
29:04fell exactly on the podium.
29:07This could have led
29:09to a huge issue
29:10and therefore,
29:12we are told that
29:12while he's been able
29:13to escape
29:15from a possible
29:16major accident,
29:17but the situation
29:18clearly a close shave.
29:20Look at that.
29:22This exactly fell
29:24where the speaker stood.
29:27Could not have got
29:28much worse,
29:29couldn't have got much worse
29:31with regard to
29:31how this incident happened.
29:34Just a matter of seconds
29:36that the speaker
29:37managed to jump
29:39on the side.
29:39That was A. Raja,
29:40we are told,
29:41who was speaking
29:42at the podium
29:43at that point.
29:43Pramod Madhav
29:44joining me
29:45for the latest on that.
29:46This is Mala Duttarai
29:47in Tamil Nadu
29:48where this incident
29:48took place.
29:50Pramod,
29:51tell me more
29:51about this happened.
29:52One is about
29:53the incident,
29:54but when you look
29:54at this visual,
29:55you realize
29:55that this was
29:56literally a narrow escape
29:58of barely
29:59a millisecond.
30:01It surely is,
30:02Pooja.
30:02It's quite shocking
30:03and scary
30:04to see such a visual
30:04because A. Raja
30:05is the Deputy General
30:07Secretary of DMK
30:08and also he's an MP.
30:09What happened
30:10is that DMK
30:11has decided
30:11to go ahead
30:12and start
30:13the kind of proclamation
30:13about the budgets
30:14and the issues
30:15over which
30:15various meetings
30:16are being made
30:17across the districts
30:18around what's and so on.
30:19A. Raja
30:19was speaking
30:20in Mailadudurai
30:21and that's when
30:21someone had
30:22in various districts
30:23that happened
30:23like you know
30:24it's all like
30:25high wind speed
30:26and that's what
30:26we could see
30:27on the background
30:27as well
30:28but nobody thought
30:28that a lamppost
30:29that has live wires
30:31on it
30:31would fall exactly
30:33on the podium
30:34where A. Raja
30:35was speaking
30:35but thankfully
30:36to his presence
30:37of mind
30:37he immediately
30:38jumped to the side
30:38and he really
30:40saved himself
30:42from a major disaster
30:43but however
30:44after the incident
30:45A. Raja
30:46was evacuated
30:46from the spot
30:47immediately
30:51that A. Raja
30:53was speaking
30:54and that post
30:56literally falls
30:57on the podium
30:58this is barely
31:00a few seconds
31:01of narrow escape
31:02for the leader
31:03who jumped
31:04on the side
31:05was saved
31:05there were of course
31:06other workers
31:07who came
31:07to try
31:08and push the side
31:09look at that
31:09and remember
31:12that
31:12and I just
31:13I don't want to
31:14sound alarming
31:15but this could have
31:15led to a fire
31:16incident as well
31:17because there were
31:19clearly lights
31:19electricity
31:20and more
31:21on the
31:21lamppost as well
31:22so
31:23Pramod
31:24a quick question
31:25there
31:25just tell us
31:26about what happened
31:27was the lamppost
31:28not fixed properly
31:29was it a temporary
31:30basis
31:30did someone push it
31:32how is the DMK
31:33looking at this
31:34one thing
31:36unfortunately
31:36being with any
31:37political party
31:38is that there are
31:39certain set of norms
31:40that are supposed
31:40to be followed
31:41when you elect
31:42a kind of stage
31:43or like lamppost
31:44and such
31:44but unfortunately
31:45various contractors
31:47do not actually
31:47go ahead
31:48and follow these norms
31:49and one important thing
31:50is to fasten
31:50such lamppost
31:51how many lamps
31:52can one lamppost
31:53have
31:53and if I thought
31:54the lamppost
31:55should be
31:55from the stage
31:56perhaps
31:57it is time
31:57for political parties
31:59to learn a lesson
31:59from this incident
32:00because this lamppost
32:01was very close
32:02to the podium
32:03and this particular
32:04accident showed
32:05how it can force
32:06a real danger
32:07not just to the netas
32:08but to the common
32:09public
32:09as well
32:09Puja
32:10all right
32:10Pramod
32:11keep tracking
32:11the latest
32:12on that
32:12I have to say
32:13what a miraculous
32:15escape clearly
32:15for A. Raja
32:17there
32:17the DM
32:17clearly
32:18there's been a controversy
32:26emerging over the
32:27NET examinations
32:28lately
32:29especially in the
32:29southern states
32:30for example
32:31in Karnataka
32:31this time
32:32a student was asked
32:33to remove
32:33his sacred thread
32:35the Janeu
32:35before entering
32:36into the NET
32:37examination hall
32:38the incident took place
32:39at a St. Mary school
32:41in Kalaburgi
32:41the centre for the
32:42examination
32:43where the student
32:44was told
32:44to hand over
32:45the thread
32:45to his father
32:46if he wanted
32:47to be allowed
32:48in to write
32:48the examination
32:49now there were
32:50immediate protests
32:51about it
32:52from the BGP workers
32:53the Brahmin community
32:54members outside
32:54the centre
32:55alleging bias
32:56similar scenes
32:58however
32:58of a different nature
32:59in Tamil Nadu
33:00Tirupur
33:00two girl students
33:02were stopped
33:02from entering
33:03into the examination
33:03hall
33:04because there were
33:05apparently
33:05metal buttons
33:06on their attire
33:07one student
33:08could appear
33:08for the test
33:09after the relatives
33:10gave a laser blade
33:11to cut the buttons
33:12off
33:13the second
33:13student's dress
33:14appears to have
33:15become unusable
33:16a female police
33:18personnel deployed
33:18stepped in
33:19escorted the student
33:20to a nearby shop
33:21she had to buy
33:22a new dress
33:23to be able to
33:24then go sit
33:25for the exam
33:25remember this is
33:26a lot of distress
33:27for a student
33:28who is just about
33:29to sit for an examination
33:30in Karnatka's Bidar
33:32principal and staff
33:33of Saispurthi PU
33:34college had to be
33:35suspended
33:35after students
33:36appearing for the
33:37CET examination
33:38earlier remember
33:39were also allegedly
33:40asked to remove
33:41their sacred thread
33:41the Janeu
33:42now is this
33:43a part of
33:43protocol
33:44is this
33:45a part of
33:46bias
33:46or prejudice
33:47coming in
33:48that is being
33:48investigated
33:49similar incident
33:50remember in
33:50Shimoga led to
33:51protest from the
33:52Brahmin community
33:53earlier as well
33:53incidents from
33:55earlier in
33:56Karnatka
33:57so what exactly
33:57is happening
33:58at a time
33:59when these are
33:59of course
34:00significant
34:00examinations
34:01we strongly
34:04condemn this
34:04high handedness
34:05on the
34:05dress codes
34:06in the name
34:06of you know
34:08whatever laws
34:10they have on
34:10hand
34:11this is highly
34:11condemnable
34:12at the same
34:13hand
34:13Mr. Udainidi
34:14the prince should
34:15hang his head
34:16in shame
34:16this is the
34:17fourth consecutive
34:18year where
34:19NEET examination
34:19is happening
34:20in Tamil Nadu
34:21before 2021
34:22he made tall
34:23promises that
34:24if voted to
34:24power NEET
34:25will be abolished
34:25in Tamil Nadu
34:26I think the
34:27students should
34:28definitely question
34:29Udainidi
34:30on what
34:31face and what
34:32moral grounds
34:32he has got
34:33the audacity
34:34to face them
34:35in the upcoming
34:36elections
34:37and any
34:38high handedness
34:38on the
34:39students who
34:40are coming
34:41to write
34:41the examination
34:42is highly
34:42condemnable
34:43I think there
34:44have to be
34:44some reasonable
34:45guidelines
34:45taking into
34:46account of
34:47the dress code
34:47moving on
34:49now
34:49Congress
34:50MP Rahul
34:50Gandhi
34:51was in the
34:52United States
34:52of America
34:53and during
34:54one of the
34:54interactions
34:54Rahul Gandhi
34:55appeared to
34:56have referred
34:56to Lord
34:57Ram as
34:57simply a
34:58mythological
34:59figure
34:59he described
35:00BJP as a
35:01fringe outfit
35:02stating that
35:03he does not
35:03accept BJP's
35:05version of
35:05Hinduism and
35:06nationalism
35:06the remarks
35:07of course
35:08immediately drew
35:09a sharp retort
35:09from the BJP
35:11the Bharti
35:11Junita Party
35:12slamming
35:13what they are
35:13saying is
35:14Congress's
35:15anti-Hindu
35:15mindset
35:16that Rahul
35:17Gandhi is
35:17also Ram
35:18Drohi
35:18now
35:19let's listen
35:20into what
35:20did Rahul
35:21Gandhi say
35:21and how
35:22does the
35:22BJP
35:23respond to
35:23that
35:24the search
35:26for truth
35:27and non-violence
35:28and this is
35:30to me
35:30the bedrock
35:31of Indian
35:32tradition
35:32Indian history
35:33I don't know
35:34I don't know
35:35of one person
35:36who we consider
35:37great
35:38in India
35:39you know
35:40who wasn't
35:42of this type
35:43I can't
35:44I mean
35:44I can't think
35:46of one
35:46right
35:47all our
35:48all our
35:49mythological figures
35:50Lord Ram
35:52was of that
35:53type
35:53right
35:53where he
35:54where he
35:55was forgiving
35:55he was
35:56compassionate
35:56so
35:56so
35:57I don't
35:59consider
35:59what the
36:00BJP
36:01says
36:01to be the
36:03Hindu idea
36:03at all
36:04I consider
36:05the Hindu idea
36:05to be much
36:06more pluralistic
36:07much more
36:07embracing
36:08much more
36:08affectionate
36:09much more
36:10tolerant
36:11and open
36:12which
36:12are not
36:14the
36:15who
36:15are not
36:17the
36:18people
36:18who
36:18will
36:19say
36:20the
36:20people
36:21will
36:21say
36:21that
36:22the
36:23people
36:24will
36:25be
36:26very
36:28quickly

36:39Ram
36:39Ram
36:39Ram
36:39Ram
36:41But a political storm already has erupted because Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's remarks
36:46during a Q&A session at this university in the USA, where one of the students among the audience
36:52stood up to question Rahul Gandhi on Congress party's role in the 1984 anti-sikh carnage.
36:58Rahul Gandhi said this about Congress's historical wrongdoings, taking in many ways a responsibility.
37:05But BJP Sikh leaders like Manjinder Singh Sirsa are not too happy.
37:09They're calling this holosymbolism. Let's listen.
37:14In your last visit to the USA, you made a tweet speaking directly to Sikhs in India and abroad.
37:19And in that you talk about what India under the BJP would look like, where you ask,
37:24will you be allowed to wear karas, would you allow to be wear turbans under the BJP?
37:29So you create a fear amongst the Sikhs about what the BJP would look like.
37:33But you talked about how politics should be fearless, there should be nothing to be afraid of, right?
37:38But we don't just want to wear karas. We don't just want to tie our turbans.
37:43We want freedom of expression, which under the Congress party in the past has not been allowed.
37:47For example, the Anant Purisahib resolution, which you're probably familiar with,
37:51talks about these Dalit rights, right? Rights of water.
37:54It talks about better working conditions, anti-monopoly.
37:57It mentions nothing of separatism, but it's labeled as a separatist document.
38:01This is something your party has done.
38:04And your party seems to lack the maturity to accept the mistakes it has made,
38:10such as Sajjan Kumar just now being tried.
38:12And there's many more Sajjan Kumars currently sitting in the Congress party.
38:15You haven't tried to reconcile with the Sikhs. What attempts are you making?
38:19I don't know.
38:49I don't know.
38:50I don't know.
38:51I don't know.
38:52I don't know.
38:56I don't know.
38:57I don't know.
38:58I don't know.
38:59I don't know.
39:00I don't know.
39:01I don't know.
39:02I don't know.
39:03I don't know.
39:04I don't know.
39:05I don't know.
39:06I don't know.
39:07I don't know.
39:08I don't know.
39:09I don't know.
39:10I don't know.
39:11I don't know.
39:12I don't know.
39:13I don't know.
39:14I don't know.
39:15I don't know.
39:16I don't know.
39:17I don't know.
39:18I don't know.
39:19I don't know.
39:20I don't know.
39:21I don't know.
39:22I don't know.
39:23I don't know.
39:24I don't know.
39:25I don't know.
39:28I don't know.
39:45He's always coming in from the United States of America is the Hindi film industry or possibly
39:50Indian cinema in all could face Trump taxes too. Trump administration has ordered a 100% tariff
39:57on movies outside the USA. Donald Trump basically has said countries steal the filmmaking skills
40:06from America. Now, this, remember, was definitely unexpected. Filmmaker Viveka Geyhotri has said
40:12that the tax will threaten Indian cinema. Here's what has happened. Just to give you details on
40:17that, Donald Trump's administration has ordered 100% tariff on all movies produced outside the USA,
40:24which means, for example, Indian films that are regularly screened in American theatres and generate
40:31a lot of revenue could now face a 100% tariff. That's huge. Other nations have been stealing the
40:40movies, the movie-making capabilities from the United States. And I said to a couple of people,
40:47what do you think? I've done some very strong research over the last week. And we're making
40:52very few movies now. Hollywood is being destroyed. Now, you have an incompetent, grossly incompetent
40:58governor that allowed that to happen. So I'm not just blaming other nations, but other nations,
41:03a lot of them, have stolen our movie industry. And I'm saying, if they're not willing to make a movie
41:09inside the United States, then we should have a tariff on movies that come in. And not only that,
41:16governments are actually giving big money. I mean, they're supporting them financially.
41:20So that's sort of a threat to our country.
41:22India Today's Foreign Affairs editor, Geeta Mohan, joins me for the latest on that.
41:26Geeta, this is going to perhaps prove to be a lot of trouble for Indian filmmakers and producers
41:31who aim for their movies for the Indian diaspora in the USA. Tell me more about what exactly has
41:37Donald Trump said, what does he intend to do, and why cinema?
41:42Well, it is yet another move of trying to get people to make in America.
41:49And the fact that any movie that is shot outside will be taxed. And so this is a huge blow
41:58to Hollywood because any movie that is made outside, and if there is a requirement to,
42:06you see, a lot of high-budget movies are made outside of America too, is going to cost
42:12the filmmakers really. Also, in this globalized world, Pooja, where Netflix and Amazon
42:19Amazon's platforms, such as these big ones, have become the norm rather than the exception,
42:26it's going to be very difficult then to have production all which are confined to the United
42:33States of America. So again, we'll have to wait and see how the industry reacts to this
42:38decision. But this certainly is going to make entertainment industry more expensive.
42:45So we'll be waiting for more reactions that could come in from Indian filmmakers, producers,
42:50especially on what do they have to say about Donald Trump's decision. Thank you very much
42:54for now. Geeta Mohan with the latest on that.
42:57Alright, on that note, I'm wrapping up this bulletin. Thank you so much for watching.
