00:08National Security Council or the NSC Assistant Director General Jonathan Malaya stressed that there is no truth to such claims following reports alleging that China had taken control of the area.
00:22Sandy Kay, located just 3 kilometers from Pag-Asa Island and within its territorial sea, remains under Philippine sovereignty.
00:31Malaya also clarified that no occupation in taking place in any unoccupied features in the area.
00:38He called on to China to maintain the status quo and avoid actions that could escalate tensions.
