00:00Traces of a forever chemical were found in European wines, that is according to a new study

00:10published by the NGO Pesticide Action Network Europe. The report found an increase in the

00:16molecule TFA, which is a PFAS residue, in European bottles sold in supermarkets.

00:22The survey was carried out in 10 EU member states. Results revealed that levels were

00:27sometimes 100 times higher than those found in drinking water.

00:31In the first place, global level, all these fluoride gases that we find again in our

00:36refroidissement systems are very present and emitted in the atmosphere.

00:41However, regarding the contamination of the underground water, we know that the main source

00:46is the PFAS pesticide, because these substances are directly pulverized on the soil, which

00:51contaminate the cultures and which, in fact, are found in the underground water.

00:55Traces of TFA were also found in organic wines. Pan Europe suggests consumers to tread carefully

01:02as little is known about the forever chemical.
