00:42That was a sweet day.
00:44Because the song came out like three or four years ago, right?

00:48And then it was almost a five-year journey before you met Janice, who the song's about.

00:53Well, because COVID happened and then it was just like, I didn't want to get her sick
00:57or anything.

01:01But then it was like, she found out I was coming to Tidal Wave.
01:03We'd been kind of talking about how we can get together and she found out I was going
01:06to be there.
01:07And then my daughter reached out to my management and was like, hey, Haley's in town.
01:12Grandma would love to come.
01:13And so I was like, heck yeah.
01:14Come on.
01:15Let's go.
01:16And I'm going to bring her out on stage.
01:17I just like, it was kind of a spiritual thing for me because my Janice passed before I wrote
01:22that song.
01:24And I put so many of her like things, nuances and stuff in that song.
01:28And like, I never got to play it for her.
01:30So like, are you ready to cry?

01:34I'm not a huge crier, but we'll see.
01:37Like when I had that line when I was singing it to her in the bridge and she's out there
01:41and it was like, um, uh, a glass of red wine a day is good for the heart.
01:45And I'm just singing these lines and I look in her eyes and I kid you not.
01:48I like saw my grandma's eyes.

01:51So I was just like, it felt like it was just this whole otherworldly thing where it was
01:55like I actually got to sing it to her, you know?
01:58And I don't know that day had me in my feels.

02:05Cause we know what we were feeling out there, but to really feel how that connected for you
