00:17And there's a drum kit in the middle of the dance floor.
00:18And the bass is so loud that we're in Nashville, Tennessee, and it's in Memphis.
00:23And here in three hours, when they open, we can probably hear it.
00:26I root for everybody, but I selfishly root for you more because we've met a couple times, dragged together a couple times.

00:45That was a weird time to be new and putting out music.

01:04I wrote a bunch, but that was like the only one that I think I ended up cutting.
01:09And I love those songs that have like a weird title or like a title that sounds really dumb.

01:14But then the song does something different.
01:16I kind of like it.
01:17So I really appreciate you.
01:18You have great taste in music if I do say so.
01:20Listen, I'm a big Matt Stell fan.
01:22Breaking Boots kind of has that double meaning.
01:25I won't say stupid because you said it.
01:27But you hear it, it's, you know, it's Breaking Boots.
01:30You're like, am I breaking in boots or am I breaking in boots?

01:34Tell me about that.
01:35Yeah, man.
01:35I love, you know, any kind of that country music kind of wordplay.
01:39I think it's part of the genre.
01:41Telling a story is part of the genre.
01:43Getting your heart broke is part of a genre.
01:44And I've always loved that country music that does that, that's energetic and goes hard.
01:50And that's what this song is, man.
01:51And, I mean, I've lived so much of it.
01:53This song is true in so many different ways.
01:55And, you know, that's what I try to do is just kind of tell the truth as best I can.
01:59My favorite lyric, though, is pretending that July baseball matters.
02:03You know, I was like, that's very relatable to me because we do it every year and then
02:07the Phillies break my heart at the end of the year.
02:08So, you know.
02:09Man, they had a dang gum run.
02:12I tell you, I don't care about, like you said, I don't care about baseball until like

02:21I will say this, though.
02:23The pitch clock is a game changer, dude.
02:26And I like it.
02:27I do love it.
02:28It makes it where even it speeds the game up, yeah, but it gives it a pace.
02:34So, that's what I missed before, even more so than it taking so long.
02:38It was just like, God, there's no pace.
02:40You don't know where to be paying attention.
02:41I look at my phone and it's like the inning's over.
02:43And now, like, I know what the pace is.
02:46It keeps your attention.
02:47That's exactly what it does.
