00:03I gotta talk about Philly first, because you are headlining our XTU 40th anniversary show next year.

00:09Pumped.

00:09You're gonna start your headlining tour in Nashville.

00:12Yep.

00:12And you're coming right to Philly.

00:13That's it.

00:14That's pretty cool.

00:15I know, I'm excited.

00:16Because you're like, at home here, and then the first stop you're gonna do is with XTU on the East Coast's biggest country station.

00:22Yep.

00:23That's so huge.

00:24It's huge.

00:24And we just talked to Ian Munsick, who speaks the world of you, by the way.

00:27Well, I love him today.

00:28One of the highlights, he said, is no matter how big she's now gotten, which, I mean, you know, look at you right now.

00:33Most nominations for the CMAs, he said she's still Lainey Wilson.

00:36She's still the same girl I've known for years.

00:38Hey, I've got way too many people in my life that keep me real humble.

00:41My family back at home, my nephews, they don't think I'm cool at all, so.

00:44Well, let's look back.

00:46Last time I saw you perform was actually on our stage at National Finals Rodeo.

00:51Yep.

00:51In a little radio stage at Cowboy Christmas.

00:53That's it.

00:54That was less than a year and a half ago.

00:56And now here you are.

00:57When you really think about that, that is...

00:59Think about the rise and how quick this has been for you.

01:02Even then, you were like, man, I really wish I could be on Yellowstone.

01:06Now you're on Yellowstone.

01:07Hey, you speak it and you believe it.

01:08I know.

01:09It's been wild.

01:10I will say, I've been here in Nashville for a little over 12 and a half years.

01:15Right.

01:15But it does seem like once things finally started clicking and working, it was like I was just trying to hold on for dear life.

01:21And that's the way it's been.

01:22But it's been fun.

01:23You know, it's so funny when you talk to artists and you're like, man, you're really just getting going.

01:27You're like, no, I've been doing this for...

01:29It took those 11 years.

01:31That's right.

01:31But I wouldn't have been ready.

01:33I'm telling you, if I had not spent the 12 years in this town like I have, I don't know if I'd have had enough of a story to tell.

01:41You know, you live and you grow and you learn.

01:43And that's what you write about.

01:44One last question.

01:45I love hearing this from artists.

01:47Who does Laney Wilson listen to right now?

01:49What's an album you have on repeat or an artist you love to listen to?

01:52Maybe you draw inspiration from it.

01:54Well...

01:55There's so many good ones.

01:56I know.

01:56Well, there's a girl right now that I absolutely love.

01:58She's a dear friend of mine.

01:59We write a lot of music together.

02:01Her name is Meg McCree.

02:02Okay.

02:03And she's great.

02:03And then also another guy who I'm bringing out on the road with me, his name is Zach Top.

02:08Zach Top.

02:09And it is country to the bone.

02:11And it is so good.

02:13I feel like both of those artists are just timeless and I'm a fan.
