All right, on the phone today we have Clayton for First Responder Friday who is honoring his brother.

Good morning, Clayton. How are you doing?

Good. How are you?

We are doing great. So we get to honor your brother Cody today.

Why don't you go ahead and tell us how Cody serves our community as a First Responder?

Well, he first started serving his community by enlisting in the military and becoming a combat paramedic.

Okay.

And after that, he didn't know what he wanted to do, but there was a crash that happened in front of him,

and somebody was ejected, and he had to do CPR, and that kind of reignited his fuel for helping people.

So he went back to school at USF, became a paramedic, and now is a paramedic.

Wow. So he serves in our military. He was in the Army, you said?

Yes.

And he was a combat medic. He comes home, not sure what he wants to do,

witnesses an accident where he has to actually get involved and use his skills as a medic,

and this is what kind of brings him back to wanting to be a First Responder.

Yeah, he wanted to help people.

Wow. What a story. I mean, you've got to be so proud of your brother.

Oh, yeah. The one thing that we both wanted to do was help out our community,

and he chose the military, I chose hospitals, but he's doing great work.

And now he's furthering his education in medicine as well, right?

Yes. He is going back to school. He's a U.S. student going for a nurse practitioner.

Wow. Man, this guy has a calling, no doubt about it.

He loves helping people.

And then his girlfriend, she's a critical care nurse at Bayfront. Just that's his life.

There you go. A power couple right there. Clayton, tell me more about Cody just as a guy.

If you had to describe your brother to the world.

Very outgoing, very charismatic. He loves to be the life of the party.

He plays pickleball all the time, goes to tournaments. He's very good at it.

He gets first, second, third place almost all the time.

And he just loves to be active and outgoing.

Very cool, man. And when you guys get to hang out, what do you guys like to do?

We go to talk off. That's what we do. We like to hang out, have fun, drink a little bit.
