00:00We know the hard work and sacrifice they go through serving our community and keeping us safe.
00:06Let's honor another First Responder on 99.5 QYK.
00:11All right, Samantha's on the phone today honoring her husband, Jordan, for First Responder Friday.
00:16Good morning, Samantha. How are you?
00:18Good morning. How are y'all?
00:19We are doing great. So tell us what your husband does as a First Responder.
00:23He is a sheriff's deputy in the Tampa Bay area.
00:26He responds to calls every day if you call 911 or if you call the non-emergency line, and he absolutely loves his job.
00:32Very cool. And how long has he been doing this for?
00:34He has been doing it since 19, 20 years old. I think he was 19 when he joined the academy.
00:39He said, I'm going in, and I'm ready to do this.
00:41Yeah, he sure was.
00:43Now, does this run in his family, or is this something that he just wanted to do?
00:45So actually, he's the first cop in his family.
00:49Jordan didn't have, like, the best neighborhood to grow up in, I guess.
00:53You know, times were a little tough. So just from what he's seen and, like, the people that he's known,
00:58he just woke up one morning when he was, like, 18, 19 and just decided that he wanted to be able to help people in his community, really,
01:06and help his family and make sure that everyone was safe that he cared about.
01:10Well, what an inspiration. That's awesome that he got that.
01:12He was inspired by, you know, his circumstances. I love that.
01:15Yeah, he really is a great human being.
01:17Yeah, you know, and you have to be a brave person yourself, too.
01:21I mean, being married to, you know, a cop in the Tampa Bay area, you know, that's got to be tough sometimes.
01:26Yeah, actually, it is. It's a little nerve-wracking, you know, say goodbye every morning
01:30and make sure that he's okay during the day without bothering him too much while he's trying to help other people.
01:35But at the end of the day, I mean, he makes a huge difference.
01:38And if anyone has a problem, I mean, like, he's the first person that I could think of that would be able to help them.
01:43So it's just awesome that I get to come home to him every day knowing that he made a difference.
01:48Oh, that's awesome.
01:49I love that.
01:50I love your attitude, Samantha. This is so great.
01:52And we're so thankful for Jordan and what he does for our community.
01:56What are some things you guys like to do when he's not working?
01:58So actually, Jordan and I love hunting. We love fishing.
02:02We love being outdoors, camping, traveling. We're super into all of that.
02:05So anytime that we're able to pack up our bags and hit the road for a weekend, we're gone.
02:11Oh, that's awesome.
02:12Nice.
02:12Very cool. I like your style.
02:14Listen, we want to do this. We want to give you $200 in Visa gift cards.
02:18One's from our friends at Crown, Buick, GMC.
02:20Other ones from DeBezeman and Dover Law Firm.
02:22Maybe you guys can go do something fun on us.
02:24And we just appreciate Jordan, and we appreciate you, Samantha.
02:27That is awesome. Thank you guys so much.
02:28We actually just bought our first house, so we'll be using that to remodel.
02:31Here we go.
02:31I love it.
02:33That's awesome.
02:34Buy something that reminds you of us, okay?
02:35Yes. Thank you so much. I appreciate you guys.
02:38All right, Samantha. Thanks so much.
02:39Well, if you want to nominate someone for First Responder Friday or Military Monday, you can do that.
