00:49of saying it over and over because he liked it so you know this is something that you can use jack

00:53and maybe people will not know if you're you can say to them very nicely i'm learning something new

00:58every day they may think it's it's all in the inflection so you know i'm like a high school

01:03girl right now yeah tc's very excited uh with jack right here now we heard a little i don't know if

01:08it's a surprise for the fans or not we heard something in soundcheck that i wasn't expecting

01:11from night ranger one of your other projects oh yeah yeah so do we keep that under wraps we'll keep

01:17it under wraps but let me tell you there's some cool surprises so excited with the set list because

01:20we were listening to the soundcheck and oh my gosh and sing me away is like my favorite

01:24ranger song let me ask so we did a little you know round table with our staff who do you you know who

01:32are you really looking most forward to seeing and i'm not gonna lie most of our staff some haven't

01:38seen you and that's the reason why but everybody was saying night ranger talk to me about the that

01:43fan base that appeal that feel that people have for this band after 40 years since dawn patrol

01:50hey i mean we're i think we're the most fortunate guys i mean the fact that we're still out here

01:55playing we're still kicking ass we're still out there just rocking and rolling and you know 40

01:59years 40 years since like you know 1982 1983 when dawn patrol first came out you know what i mean it

02:06just it just it just keeps building and getting more exciting and everything like that and we're

02:10having more fun now than we were even back then because probably back in the 80s we were also severely

02:15medicated didn't know what the hell was going on but i mean but now it's just like we're having a

02:20blast on stage we play whatever we want like you said we're surprising tonight we're you know

02:25there's not it's not going to be you know we're going to surprise some folks tonight with some

02:28songs and i think people are going to get pumped you're such amazing musicians and i think the

02:32appreciation for that is so prominent right now for the band and i think you guys have earned that

02:38you know and i had brad on a series i do called reconnect with rockers and we talked about the whole

02:42ballad thing and um i think now people are really appreciating the band for what you guys have been

02:47for so long hey man it's so fun and on this party rod tour with brett i mean brett and i were talking

02:51about this four or five years ago and we were together you know playing shows together and it's

02:55like man we should do a thing like this and you should be like this and i and so when he started

02:59putting this thing together he i was the first person he called it's jack we're gonna do this

03:03thing we're gonna do it we're gonna really do it i'm like what are we doing and he says no we're

03:07we're gonna do a party ground we're gonna get it and mcgrath i mean with mark mcgrath out here wait till

03:11you see mark he's just like he's like our new best friend this guy is like wild crazy i mean we're having a blast

03:17with him and steve jerry from journey who lives you know he's from this neck of the woods and all

03:22these songs and it's hit after hit after hit after hit after hit you know what i mean and that's what's

03:28so fun about this show and everything like that but with night ranger i mean we're gonna surprise

03:32some people tonight with the stuff we're playing and like you said we might throw in a damn yankees

03:36song you know what i mean i didn't say it i didn't say it i was with us about two and a half weeks ago

03:42he came and jammed with us and we did a couple we did we did like coming of age and we did cat

03:46scratch fever you know at a night ranger show and it was freaking phenomenal ted's like geeking he was

03:51like a 16 year old i saw that i saw that he was so excited i saw opening night of the tour too yeah

03:56and the band was so incredible and so energetic and you kind of got sidelined for a while because

04:01you had some issues like irregularity with the heart with the heart yeah no one would ever know this

04:05i know i had a heart issue yeah it's like four months ago four months ago was it's like i didn't see that

04:10coming but i mean it was just it was just wow but everything's fine you know they fixed me

04:14i'm all good and and we're just having a ball out here everything's going great he's still as cute

04:19as ever come on tc come on you're a guy conduct yourself in a professional manner

04:24i work with these i'm comfortable guy i work with these guys all day i mean come on you know

04:31about your schmoes is that italian no okay

04:33i'm getting there i'm getting there come on you're rubbing off on me yeah a little bit yeah yeah

04:39hey jack let me ask you so me and terry we're like huge fans of a certain movie that you have

04:44a stake in and we're talking about boogie nights oh yeah and the song obviously sister christian

04:50i mean it was a iconic scene what does that meant for the band continuing the catalog and legacy and

04:56and the new fans that brought in and still probably bringing the new fans that catch the movie on hbo or

05:01something like that that was really crazy how did that how did they approach you about using that song

05:05you know we heard this is like this this like indie kind of director paul david what's it

05:10anderson paul thomas and paul thomas and so yeah i mean it's like this film and you're gonna do it

05:14it's like mark walberg and blah blah blah and we're like yeah okay let's see so we went and saw it

05:19it was so great it's like kelly and and and and my wife molly and myself were sitting in in the

05:25audience watching it and when this and molly's in the middle of the two of us and when the movie when

05:29that scene came on where they're in the drug dealer's house and the guy's like letting out

05:33fireworks and everybody's jacked out of their minds and it's like going crazy kelly and i both

05:37started sweating and we looked at each other across money we're like i think we've been in that guy's

05:41house i know that guy oh my god this is way too real this is way too real but i mean it was the

05:50perfect setup it was the perfect scene with that you know and everything like that and that's just

05:55carried it through you know we've had songs in other movies but to me that's one of my favorite

05:58like placing a night ranger song the perfect thing the guy doing the air drums on

06:03the dudes like shooting fireworks in their back room everybody's like geeked out of their minds

06:15like freaking out oh my gosh i love amazing iconic iconic movie scene and wonderful to see you guys

06:21a part of it so um is the touring going to continue i mean after party girl you guys are on fire you guys

06:26are going to keep going yeah we're just going to keep um we're keeping all this year and the next

06:29year is already booking out and everything like that so we're just uh is it just keeping the thing

06:33flowing do you find yourself now because like back in the 80s when you're touring there was like you

06:36had to tour to sell the records and pressure from labels and videos and now you're just doing it for

06:42you yeah exactly right it's like we don't need to do it anymore i mean but we're doing it because

06:46we love to play we love the fans that are coming we just love the music which we're having so much

06:52you'll see it tonight terry i can't wait you'll be there you're going to be side stage right i hope

06:55so you're going to be hanging i am now i hope you got the special pass get her a pass

07:10like just palling down with kelly and then carrie kelly our guitarist so good i mean he was with

07:14alice cooper for 10 12 years then it was slash and he's been with us for 10 years eric levy our keyboard

07:19plays but it was for 12 years or 14 i mean it's just the band is so it's we're just having so

07:25much fun so we're just going to keep doing it until it's not fun yeah exactly how about that that's

07:29right i mean i will keep going to shows until it's not fun there you go or i can't walk up the hill

07:33anymore let me know when it's not fun anymore would you you know what no one's gonna get no one's gonna
