First Responders Who Met in The ER Honored For First Responder Friday

00:06Let's honor another First Responder on 99.5 QYK.

00:11It is First Responder Friday today.

00:14We got Mary Claire on the phone who is honoring her husband.

00:17Good morning, Mary Claire. How are you?

00:19Good. I'm great. How are you guys?

00:20We are great. We get to honor your husband, Aldo, today.

00:23Tell us about Aldo. How does he serve our community as a First Responder?

00:26So he works for Pasco County Fire Rescue.

00:29He's currently at Station 38 in Wesley Chapel.

00:32Before that, he was over in the Holiday and Trinity area.

00:35He's been with Pasco for about 11 years.

00:38Now, did you meet him before he became a firefighter or after?

00:43After. Actually, I'm an ER nurse, so I met him at one of the emergency rooms when he was bringing in patients.

00:48Hey, now. Here we go, Mary Claire. That's what we want to talk about.

00:52Now we have the juice. Tell us how this went down.

00:55Um, I don't know. Like, he would come in all the time and I'd be like, oh my God, he's so nice. He's so nice.

01:00I never asked anything about him.

01:02And then finally, I dyed my hair and it like came out this like awful color and he like messaged me and he was like, I really like your hair.

01:09I'm like, oh, okay. And then we went on a date next week and I knew that day that he would be the one I'd marry.

01:18Wow.

01:20All over the hair. Now what color is the hair now?

01:22So I'm naturally red, but we went a little crazy red that time.

01:27Gotcha.

01:28I love it.

01:29That's awesome, Mary Claire.

01:30You know, obviously you know him and you thought he was so nice when you met him.

01:34What do you think makes him great at his job?

01:37So he just really cares about his patients.

01:41Most of the firemen just want to, you know, really be on that fire truck that's like where they are.

01:45But he really likes being on the medical aspect of it.

01:48He loves to teach new paramedics, you know, and he's so good at it, too.

01:52He has the patients and he speaks Spanish.

01:55That also helps a lot with his patient care, especially in the growing community here.

02:01So he really does care.

02:02I love that.

02:03You can tell, like, I know from my end when people bring in patients that, you know, some are better than others, but he is pretty great.

02:10Well, I mean, you'd be the person to judge him, too, because you know your stuff, too.

02:14I mean, I do judge him.

02:17Well, what are some of the things that you guys like to do when you guys aren't working?

02:20So right now we're expecting our first little one.

02:23Yay!

02:24Oh, Mary Claire!

02:25Yes.

02:27So I'm about 20 weeks pregnant, so Aldo Jr. will be here in August.

02:31Oh, my gosh.

02:32Aldo Jr.

02:33Yes.

02:35And then we like to go to Disney, Universal, which all of that kind of is on pause right now.

02:41But he plays video games, and I like to also.

02:45And he's a big family man, so his parents are very important to us.

02:49And then we just moved his 101-year-old grandfather into his parents' house this past week.

02:54Wow.

02:55So he's there a lot with them.

02:56So you're telling me that Aldo found a wife that enjoys playing video games with him?

03:01I know, right?

03:03Wow, man.

03:04What a keeper right here.

03:06Yes.

03:06Well, listen, Mary Claire, this is great.

03:10And also, thank you to you for what you do, because obviously you are a first responder

03:14as well.

03:15And we're so thankful for Aldo.
