00:00You know, tipping is something that we do.
00:04We feel like it's something we have to do.
00:07But it's something I kind of hate doing.
00:09Not because I don't want people to make a living.
00:13It's just so frustrating.
00:14It's like the resort fee of dining out or anything, really.
00:19If they paid people enough, I wouldn't have to do that, right?
00:23Well, they don't want to pay anybody.
00:26I find that's the problem.
00:27I mean, I was in the service industry for like half of my life, I feel like.
00:33I got into it when I was 15 years old and got out when I was 29.
00:37So, for a long time.
00:38And I made a ton of money because of tipping.
00:42So, I'm for it, to be honest.
00:45I also tip.
00:47I definitely, like, if you're terrible, you're getting 18%.
00:51That's just how I am.
00:54Unless you're terrible, terrible.
00:55Then I'm like, okay.
00:57Then they're getting 15%.
00:58You feel like a bad person leaving.
01:00Yeah.
01:00But for the most part, if you're good, you're over 20.
01:05But I think that's just my car.
01:06Like, I have to.
01:07Like, I fed my family for, you know, 10 years on people tipping in Las Vegas.
01:13No.
01:14So, here's my thing on tipping.
01:15I'm a pretty nice tipper.
01:17But the reason we're bringing this up, by the way, the CBC up there in Canada, they're talking about this.
01:21People are changing the credit card readers now.
01:24And, you know, it says, like, 15, 18, or 20%.
01:27They're throwing down a 30% up there now.
01:30They're calling it tipflation.
01:31And there are people who are, like, scoffing at it, saying, I will never do this.
01:35702-597-1027.
01:37Your thoughts on tipping and what you think is fair and what, frankly, you should tip for.
01:42Because I hear that I'm supposed to be tipping my trash, guys.
01:45I mean, I leave, like, around the holidays, I do cards.
01:50Like, I'll put, like, a Christmas card or, like, a snack or something like that for delivery drivers, the trash guys, and things like that.
02:00And it's hard because there's only one of them now because they took the other guy away.
02:04It's just, like, the robot now.
02:05The robot arm comes, yeah.
02:06So, nobody has to get out.
02:07So, you have to chase them out.
02:08Hold on.
02:08Well, bulk days.
02:09I mean, you get the two people in the bulk days.
02:11Yeah.
02:11I think this is a classic case of, like, why would you let that bother you?
02:20Like, if there's another button on there, like, there's about 27 buttons on this keyboard that I will never even touch.
02:26But I don't let it bother me.
02:30And I'm not a very positive person.
02:31What's scroll lock, really, if you think about it?
02:33Yeah.
02:34What the heck does scroll lock do?
02:36Seriously.
02:37It's very frustrating.
02:38We have Jessica on our Instagram saying, as far as her rules, it comes to tipping, panic and over-tip because you're insecure and you want people to like you.
02:48I mean, yeah, I guess that can happen, too.
02:52Yeah, but then, like, when it comes to takeout, do you tip 20% on a takeout when you're tipping 20% on a dine-in?
02:57Um, I will do, I tip something when I do takeout, but not at, like, a super, not at fast food, not if I'm in the drive-thru.
03:08But if I go into Payway, love Payway so much, go into Payway and get food and they're, like, packing it up for me, then I will tip them, like, a couple bucks.
03:18We're starting to get calls on this right now, 702-597-1027, we open it up to you.
03:22Your tipping policy, who gets tipped, who will never get tipped, and how much do you tip?
03:27Talk about it next.
03:28Well, I actually used to be a server back when I was, I started at 16 in North Carolina and worked until I was 22 after I finished nursing school.
03:40Uh-huh.
03:40Um, and honestly, people don't tip enough.
03:45Yeah.
03:45Uh, what most people don't realize is most servers get paid less than minimum wage.
03:53Yes, 100%.
03:54And they rely on those tips.
03:55Right.
03:55But here's my question.
03:57Are the people not, are people not tipping enough, or are businesses just not paying enough?
04:02Well, I think it's, um, I mean.
04:05I think it's different here in Vegas because if you work for, okay, if you're working for, like, Olive Garden or BJ's or Island Burger, whatever,
04:14you're making $10 an hour, maybe.
04:16Which is solid.
04:17But if you work at, I guess.
04:18To start, it's better than what you would get in, like, in Gibson.
04:20But if you work for, uh, Red Rock or on the Strip, somewhere, stations or any of this, you're making, I think I was making $23 an hour.
04:28Which is awesome.
04:29And then tips.
04:30My whole, like, so there was a restaurant in, in San Francisco, and they had a strict no tipping policy.
04:36What the item was is what it cost.
04:38But the employee would get a percentage of that item.
04:44Their sales?
04:45They, they, they would get their sale, like, 12% of their sales.
04:47And they got a full 401k in the whole nine yards.
04:49But the end user, like me, hi, I'm buying a $50 steak.
04:53The steak costs $50, not $60.
04:57You know?
04:57But that's the big difference.
04:58Yeah.
04:58If you guys are talking about casinos, you're talking about where high tourism would be, or a large population of people would be.
05:06Now, take it now down to a mom-and-pop place.
05:09Right.
05:09Let's say, one of the local, um, breakfast locations.
05:13Well, they're not going to tip.
05:15They're not going to pay their employees as much because they're going to rely on tipping.
05:19Right.
05:19But the problem that people don't understand is if their food is bad or cold or there's other issues, that's not necessarily the server's call.
05:28It might be in the back, but it's always the servers that get punished.
05:31Of course.
05:32The ones that get tipped less or not tipped at all.
05:35This is my question, then.
05:37So, like, all right, I go in, the eggs aren't what I ask.
05:39They ask for scramble, they're sunny side up.
05:41And I still have to tip 20%, otherwise I'm a bad person.
05:45So just call the eggs $10 and not $8.
05:49And we're good.
05:50Then we're fine.
05:50Then I know that extra two should go to them.
05:52That's what I'm saying.
05:53I just want simplification.
05:55I think that you're the only one.
05:57Go ahead, Josh.
05:58Think about greediness.
06:01Yeah.
06:01That's all I think about.
06:02That's why I want them to pay more.
06:05I know, but that's what I'm saying, the greediness when it comes to companies.
06:09I mean, I hate to put it that way, but the more that they're going to inflate their prices,
06:13do you really think that a large percentage of people in today's society would actually increase to pay for their employees to keep them happy?
06:21Absolutely not.
06:22Absolutely not, but this is my point.
06:24I think they should.
06:25It's a revolving door.
06:26I know.
06:27It's a revolving door.
06:27But you know what?
06:28It wouldn't be such a revolving door if they were treated right.
06:32Absolutely.
06:33That's what I'm saying.
06:34Because it's phenomenal serving.
06:35There it is.
06:36I just want people to get paid.
06:38That's all I want.
06:39And I don't want to have to say, okay, yes, this meal.
06:43Like, okay, when I do takeout, I feel like they put 20% there.
06:47No, no, I could go like this over the next 14 hours.
06:49I know.
06:50If I do takeout, do I give them the same 20% as if I was there and the person had to walk to me and ask me if I want to refill and all this stuff?
06:55I mean, it's so confusing.
06:57And then the mailman, I have to tip the mailman?
07:00It's just if you tip him, you're a good person.
07:02If you don't, the mailman's not going to come at you.
07:04They're going to not deliver my mail.
07:05That is not true.
07:06I'm very insecure.
07:07That is not true.
07:09Oh, my God.
07:11Thank you for calling.
07:12Thank you for calling.
07:13And now we all have anxiety.
07:15You're just not going to give me my mail.
07:18That's not true.
07:19But anyways, you're spreading lies.
07:22You're spreading lies.
07:24And how come I'm about to talk about McDonald's?
07:27Why don't I tip the McDonald's people?
07:29They work.
07:30You don't have to tip anybody.
07:32Okay, bro?
07:33Oh, my God.
07:35You're wasting my life, my Steve.
07:39It's just so, how come they should get tipped?
07:43Oh, my God.
07:43There should be a tip section at McDonald's.
07:45I don't know.
07:46Where does it start?
07:46If you want to tip McDonald's, tip McDonald's.
07:48If you don't, then don't.
07:52Oh, my God.
07:53It's just so, life is so tough.
07:57I'm going to melt it.
07:58I need a Xanax.
07:58Oh, goodness gracious.
