00:00Well, we're going to start with baseball, where the Yankees were shut out by the Red Sox last night, 3-0.

00:16We are gaining water, and Jack is going to drop to the bottom of the ocean

00:21because Rose won't give him a spot on her stupid little raft.

00:24The Yankees lose 2 out of 3 to the Sox.

00:28They are just 2-8 in their last 10, and they're dealing with injury problems.

00:35The Matt Carpenter injury hurt. We still haven't gotten Stanton back.

00:38DJ LeMay, Hugh, injured part of his foot.

00:41They're really scrapping right now.

00:44Now, the Yankees, still at 72-43, are still 10 games over the Blue Jays for first place in the AL East,

00:53so the division, still very secure.

00:56They have the second-best record in the American League, but they're two games in the loss column behind the Astros

01:03for the best record in the AL, and we want that best record because that means home field advantage in the playoffs,

01:11and that's a big deal when you're playing the cheating Astros.

01:14This is very true because they're going to bang on their seats all day.

01:19We knew that this wasn't going to last forever.

01:22There was going to be a slump at some point, but they've got to dig their way out now.

01:26But this is getting out of control.

01:35I am strongly – I am a proponent of bringing a couple of their absolute best prospects up.

01:42Let's get some minor leaguers who are future stars, and maybe you catch lightning the way they did in 98 with Shane Spencer.

01:51I mean, you know, he didn't become a megastar, but in 98 they pulled him up.

01:55He hits 10 home runs in September.

01:57Maybe they can do something like that with one of these young superstars.

02:00I mean, the Yankees have four or five supposedly big, big, big-time superstars in the minors.

02:06Let's bring a couple of them up.

02:07That's an interesting idea.

02:09And second idea is let's sign Didi Gregorius.

02:12You don't have to pay anything for him.

02:13He's currently not doing anything.

02:16Sitting around.

02:17And because, you know, the trade deadline is passed, but you can sign any free agent that you want to.

02:22And who knows?

02:23Maybe Didi gets into one, you know, a pinch-hitting capacity.

02:27That's all I'm saying.

02:28Anyway, the Mets, they shut out the Phillies behind excellent pitching from starter Chris Bassett and the Met bullpen.

02:35Final score, 6-0.

02:37Bassett went five innings, giving up no runs while striking out five.

02:40He picks up the win.

02:42The bullpen did the rest.

02:43Daniel Volgebach slugged his 15th home run of the year for the Mets.

02:48He's been good since they acquired him from the Pirates.

02:50And the Mets are 75-40, five-and-a-half games in front of the Braves for first place in the NL East.

02:57The Phillies currently in the third National League wildcard spot.

03:01Here's another baseball story that was shocking to a lot of people, especially if you follow the game closely.

03:07San Diego Padre megastar Fernando Tatis Jr. has been suspended for 80 games over a positive PED test.

03:16Wow.

03:17If you're not familiar with Fernando Tatis Jr., he's on the cover of MLB, the show.

03:22That's like the baseball version of the Madden football game.

03:26He is someone who the MLB is actively promoting, you know, along with Judge and Bryce Harper.

03:33Fernando Tatis is one of those young faces of the game.

03:37This was a shocker.

03:38That's egg on the face for Major League Baseball.

03:41It is.

03:41And it messes with the Padres' bid for the postseason since they signed that.

03:46Yeah.

03:47They just got Juan Castro.

03:48They're all in.

03:49And this happens.

03:51That is shocking.

03:52Football, preseason fully underway.

03:55And Jet quarter.

03:56Well, first of all, Jets did beat the Eagles 24-21 on Friday.

04:00But the big story is that Jet quarterback, Zach Wilson, injured his knee in the first quarter.

04:06We'll have to miss time.

04:08They're saying, for now, they're saying two to four weeks.

04:12So, all is not lost.

04:14That would mean he still will miss the final two Jet preseason games against the Falcons and Giants.

04:19But not the way you want Zach Wilson to be progressing as his career moves along.

04:24It's a very Jet thing to have happen.

04:26Yeah.

04:27I got to tell you, I'm concerned about both quarterbacks.

04:29I'm a Giants fan.

04:31And I heard of the...

04:33You're concerned about Daniel Jones?

04:34Yes, because I'm actually very, with the Yankees sucking so much, I need, like, some kind of distraction.

04:40So, I've been checking in with Giants preseason football very actively.

04:44And they're actually keeping stats during practices these days.

04:47And after a few practices in a row where it was like, oh, Daniel Jones is looking good, looking good.

04:51They said on Friday he was six for 20 with two interceptions.

04:56Ooh, that's not good.

04:57That's horrible.

04:58Yeah.

04:58Well, it's still preseason.

05:00And listen, I'm hoping that Zach Wilson can get on the mend.

05:04He's got some targets.
