Integrity, family, community, three core values that helped build the foundation for one of

today's most successful privately held radio broadcasting companies in America, greater

Little did Peter Bortis and Joseph Rosenmiller know that when they purchased their very first

radio station, WESOAM, back in 1956 for $50,000 in Southbridge, Massachusetts, their vision

would grow to eventually include 21 stations, a group of weekly newspapers in New Jersey,

and several telecommunications towers across the country.

Despite the many economic and industry changes that have taken place over the past six decades,

greater media has remained unwavered in protecting the integrity for which it stands for today.

Chairman and CEO Peter Smythe, who's been with the company for 30 years, knows this all too well.

Thirty years, every time I think of it, it amazes me.

But I did have the great fortune of working closely with Peter Bortis for several years.

He was a remarkable man, a visionary, and instilled in me the entrepreneurial spirit that he wanted

to continue to go throughout the company.

And I'm honored that the Bortis family gave me the opportunity to do that.

We do many great things, and the people, the products, and the integrity of this community

and that this company was foremost in his mind every day that I dealt with him.

I've been at Greater Media for almost 23 years, so for me, it's definitely the family atmosphere.

All my co-workers, we're like a small family here.

I think the passion of our employees is really what makes Greater Media greater.

The best thing about working for a family-owned company is the opportunity to create great

What I love about working at this company is the people.

Before I came here, I always heard they were the greatest people in the market to work with,
